Race 1: Combined Bookmakers Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – FALSE ALARM 2nd – HIDENA MAN 3rd – HONEST FRIEND 4th – LATEST EDITION

MAKE EVEN which sustained a laceration below its offside eye after becoming fractious in the on-course tie-up stall was a late withdrawal at 12:44pm on veterinary advice. As betting on the race had commenced Stewards, following the declaration of correct weight, ordered that all monies wagered on MAKE EVEN be refunded in full, and further, that all successful wagers placed on the event prior to 12:44pm be subject to deductions of 12 cents win and 14 cents place in the dollar on the face value of the betting ticket.

On returning to scale Jockey K Rockett who rode 5th placegetter HUMPTY BUMPTY advised Stewards of his intention to lodge an objection against 3rd placegetter HONEST FRIEND ridden by Apprentice A Spinks on the grounds of alleged interference near the 200 metres. At the commencement of the protest hearing when patrol footage of the incident was viewed it became apparent to Jockey Rockett that he had mistaken HONEST FRIEND for another runner. Stewards subsequently dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the semaphored numbers. Stewards acting under the provisions of AR165 issued Jockey K Rockett with a fine in the sum of $50.00 for lodging a frivolous protest.

FALSE ALARM – Jumped out at the start crowding another runner.

HONEST FRIEND - Jumped in at the start crowding another runner. Was slowly into stride.

LATEST EDITION – Lost ground after being crowded between runners at the start.

HIDENA MAN – Shifted in under pressure near the 200 metres inconveniencing another runner. Stewards instructed Jockey N Yadi that he is obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount in these circumstances and acting under the provisions of AR137(a) issued Jockey Yadi with a reprimand.

HUMPTY BUMPTY – Was inconvenienced by another runner which shifted in under pressure near the 200 metres.

Race 2: Halloran’s Leisure Park Class 3 Plate 1100 metres:
1st – FIELD MARSHALL 2nd – ROAD FOX 3rd – SCHNELLES PFERD 4th – ROCHALLOR

FIELD MARSHALL – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was inclined to race ungenerously in the middle stages. Was inclined to lay in down the running crowding another runner.

ROAD FOX – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages. Down the running was crowded by another runner which was inclined to lay in.

GUITARIST – Was slowly into stride. Was wide rounding the home turn.

Race 3: All Wheel Drive Centre Class 6 Plate 1000 metres:
1st –DAZZLE ON 2nd –SHEKOU 3rd – RAPT IN RUMBA 4th – THE OWL

THE OWL – The gelding, which was resuming after a lengthy absence from racing, was inspected pre-race by the Veterinarian and cleared to start. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running despite the best efforts of Jockey S Wilson.

SHEKOU – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

DAZZLE ON – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 800 metres after being restrained off heels.

ISADOR AMORE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was inclined to shift in under pressure near the 200 metres. Quickly straightened.

EREBUS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 4: The Tolga Lion’s Club Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – FIVE STARS 2nd – TESTAMYCOLOURS 3rd – BLAZING ALLY 4th – BIG TOMEE

I’M RURRBELLIOUS – Was slowly into stride. Was inspected post-race by the Veterinarian and no abnormalities were detected.

BEARIZAN – Was slowly into stride.

BIG TOMEE – Had to be restrained off heels near the 600 metres. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

DECLAN STYLE – Shifted out near the 100 metres when Jockey N Yadi became momentarily unbalanced.

FIVE STARS – Shifted in marginally under pressure near the 100 metres inconveniencing another runner. Apprentice A Spinks was reminded of his obligation to stop riding and straighten in these circumstances.

TESTAMYCOLOURS – Had to be shifted across heels near the 100 metres after failing to improve into a marginal run.

Race 5: Pagoda Restaurant Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres:
1st –ZALSNAAP 2nd – HE’S HARADA’S SON 3rd – FEVERET 4th – IZZY’S KEEPER

Stewards acting under the provisions of AR140A issued Trainer Mr. A Malliff with a fine in the sum of $100.00 for negligence in saddling after HE’S HARADA’S SON was presented to race carrying the incorrect saddle cloth.

IZZY’S KEEPER – Apprentice M Kai advised Stewards that his saddle had shifted shortly after jumping, placing him at a disadvantage for the majority of the event.

ZALSNAAP – Had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 1000 metres and again near the 800 metres.

Stewards acting under the provisions of AR137A issued Jockey S Wilson with a fine in the sum of $100.00 for using the whip on ZALSNAPP on 12 occasions prior to the 100 metre mark. This is 7 times more than permitted under the rule.

Stewards acting under the provisions of AR137A issued Jockey W D’Avila with a fine in the sum of $100.00 for using the whip on HE’S HARADA’S SON on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metre mark. This is 3 times more than permitted under the rule.
