GENERAL
 
Due to apprentice Nick Plamer’s New South Wales license not being currently renewed, rider replacements were approved as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
RACE 1: THOMAS FOODS INTERNATIONAL MAIDEN PLATE 1300 M
 
FULL OF EURO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
MISHANI OUTLAW – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Winton on 5th July 2025 and was cleared to start.
 
FIELD MASTER – Apprentice A Meissner, with the assistance of senior rider T Townsend, was found guilty of a breach of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 11 occasions prior to the 100m and 12 times in total. The license to ride in races of Miss Meissner was suspended for 9 days to commence midnight 7 July 2025 and conclude midnight 16 July 2025.
 
GALATH (NZ) – Shifted ground on occasions in the home straight.
 
BRISKET – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 2: BARCALDINE RACING CLUB VOLUNTEERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 M

HERE HE LOOMS – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
BADGE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DESERT STAR - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Winton on 5th July 2025 and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice C Lowe was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 11 times in total.
 
NASSAU COUNTY – Harmlessly dislodged Jockey T Townsend proceeding to the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Shifted out under pressure passing the 100m and had to be straightened by its rider.
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BELLO BELLO – Slow into stride.
 
FLOP TURN RIVER – Over raced in the middle stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight and shifted wider across heels near the 150m to obtain clear running.
 
SPILL THE DIAMONDS – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LASTING PROMISE - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Winton on 5th July 2025 and was cleared to start.
 

RACE 3: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT CLASS 6 PLATE 1000 M

DAICOS – Slow to begin.
 
DEHORNED UNICORN – Raced wide throughout.
 
FELONIOUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
PALAZZO SPIRIT – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SCARZEL – Raced wide throughout.
 
VICI – Was reluctant to load. Began awkwardly. Passing the 300m steadied from the heels of the weakening POLE POSITION.
 
CHIEF MONDO – Inconvenienced for a few strides when RESTRICTIONS shifted in passing the 300m.
 
RESTRICTIONS – Entering the home straight it was noted that Jockey T Townsend dropped her left rein resulting in RESTRICTIONS shifting in, inconveniencing CHIEF MONDO for a few strides, before Ms Townsend regathered her rein and corrected her mount. Jockey T Townsend was found guilty of a breach of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 13 times in total. The license to ride in races of Ms Townsend was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 12 July 2025 and conclude midnight 19 July 2025.
 
POLE POSITION – Slow to begin.
 
WOLF POINT – Slow to begin.
 

RACE 4: CAPRICORN PLUMBING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 M

BLUE TONGUE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers after contacting the mounting yard fence when proceeding to the start and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result and settled at the rear of the field.
 
DELUXE LEGEND – Held up for clear running entering the home straight and then raced in restricted room until passing the 100m.
 
RUSHEEN – Apprentice M Mankelow advised that her mount did not travel throughout and failed to respond to her riding.
 
EXOLENT CHOICE – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GREYLIST – Over raced in the early stages. Held up for clear racing room in the early part of the home straight before shifting out to attempt to obtain clear running. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages and went to the finish without being fully tested.
 
LEGOLAS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
WAYFARER'S WAY – Began awkwardly and then raced wide throughout. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Jumped in the air at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
ARABIAN SOO – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide early.
 

RACE 5: MATT LANDERS MECHANICAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1300 M
 
ISHOTTHEDEPUTY – Raced wide throughout.
 
CROWN REACH – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MORICONI – Slow to begin.
 
BOP 'N' DAN – Bumped with HOLY TROJAN on jumping.
 
HOLY TROJAN – Due to a pre-race sample being unable to be collected from the gelding, HOLY TROJAN has been stood down from racing under the provisions of LR33A(b) until such time it is presented to Stewards and a sample can be collected satisfactorily under race day conditions. Bumped with BOP ‘N’ DAN on jumping.
 
THE HACKNEYDIAMOND – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TRAPEZE FLYER – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight.
 
ROARING SUCCESS – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Shifted wide passing the 600m to improve. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE LANDING – Over raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SWEET MOLLY – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly.
 
NEVER REFUSE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Tailed off to be beaten 20 lengths at the finish. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer H Forster was advised that a warning has been placed against horses racing performance.
 

RACE 6: GBA ENGINEERS OPEN HANDICAP 1200 M

MOMACK – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Carried wider and steadied for a number of strides near the 300m when HARBOUR GOLD shifted outwards. Apprentice J Busuttin (HARBOUR GOLD) was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for failing to ensure her mount maintained a straight course.
 
HURTLE – Shifted out on jumping and impeded FINE SHOT.
 
FINE SHOT – Impeded and checked on jumping when HURTLE shifted out.
 
HARBOUR GOLD – Over raced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the presence of blood in both nostrils and as such trainers representative S Alexander was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
MR CASHMAN – Dictated inwards approaching the 100m by STARHATTAN and tightened the running of ENABLER.
 
ENABLER – Slow into stride. Tightened and checked approaching the 100m. Jockey E Bell (STARHATTAN) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for carelessly allowing her mount to shift in approaching the 100m resulting in MR CASHMAN being dictated inwards which tightened ENABLER which was checked in consequence. The license to ride in races of Ms Bell was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 12 July 2025 and expire midnight 19 July 2025.
 
STARHATTAN – Shifted in under riding leaving the 150m and tightened MR CASHMAN in onto ENABLER which was checked.
 
PREFERRAL (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BANGERS AND MAYO – Raced wide throughout.
 
LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Checked off the heels of MOMACK near the 300m.
 
 
RACE 7: WESTERN TRUCK GROUP QTIS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
BALDASSARE – Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the first turn before being restrained across the heels of DIRTY MERCHANT to race on the rail.
 
GROWL – Jumped outwards and bumped with COINCIDE. Raced wide throughout.
 
DIRTY MERCHANT – Tired badly over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer D Rewald was advised that a warning for poor performance was issued against the gelding.
 
TANGO FAME – In the early part of the home straight was tightened and bumped when COINCIDE shifted in despite the efforts of rider C Lowe.
 
COINCIDE – Bumped by GROWL at the start and lost ground as a result. Hung in in the early part of the home straight and bumped TANGO FAME.
 
TWILIGHT ROCK – Began awkwardly.
 
HUMOUR ME – A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness to the right foreleg and the mare has been stood down pending receipt of a veterinary clearance. Connections advised that the mare will now be retired.
 
RISKY INVESTMENT – Began awkwardly.
