BLACKJACK PRINCESS – Tightened shortly after the start.

WATASTORY – When questioned regarding the performance, rider K. Wharton stated that he was at a loss to explain the run today and felt the mare was very disappointing. Stable representative L. Mr Kelly undertook to notify stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had an effect on today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ACADANE – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY RON CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1100M

The start of this race was delayed considerably when RUMOUR AND SCANDAL, which broke through the barriers and completed two circuits of the course, was declared a late scratching at 1.50 pm by order of stewards. Trainer L. Clarke was advised that the gelding must officially trial on two occasions to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on RUMOUR AND SCANDAL be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 1.50 pm:

16 cents in the dollar for the Win #3
15 cents in the dollar for place of winner #3
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2

TAILWIND – Tightened for room on jumping away.

EAST VILLAGE – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by J. Morris as to why he was unable to make the weight on this runner and was replaced by P. Schmidt.

BRONCO - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. As this was first time in which the horse had bled, trainer M. Palmer was advised that the horse would be ineligible to race for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
