Race 1: QPSIG QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1100M
ULTRA EGO – Proved difficult to load delaying the start. Connections were advised that a waring would be placed on the horse regarding its barrier manners. Began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with the hind quarters of another runner. Improved onto heels near the 200m and obliged to alter course inwards. Raced greenly for the majority of the race.
SHEZA HOTTI – Bumped at the start. Shifted in under pressure leaving the 100m.
ALL THE CREDIT – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start. Hung out rounding the 600m. Shifted in near the 300m when racing greenly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
DARK NAZAR – Slow to begin.
MAJOR CONSUL – Bumped shortly after the start. Inconvenienced leaving the 100m.
SHARP BIJOU – Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 700m. Laid out near the 300m.
BONSEA – Steadied when tightened for room between runners near the 300m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: EASTER MONDAY RACES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer B. Hull in relation to the reasons for Carry To Gold being declared a late scratching at 8.32am.
SON OF EDEN – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 11.55 am after being injured en route to the course. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
TIARA TANTRUM – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.
MORE THAN NOBLE – Slow to begin.
MAYBE BABY – Slow to begin.
DAD’S IRISH – Shifted in at the start, making contact with another runner.
WIGGLE WIGGLE – Bumped at start.
DIVINE MALE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
MORE THAN NOBLE – Lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 3: BEAUDESERT ANZAC DAY RACES MAIDEN PLATE – 1650M
The start of this race was significantly delayed due to a mechanical breakdown of the tractor towing the barriers.
GRACE WITH FIRE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
SIPPIN’ SAPPHIRE – Overraced in the early stages, having to be restrained off heels.
METEORIC WOMAN – Steadied near the 900m when racing in restricted room.
SLALOM – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
WHYDOTHISTOME - Hung out rounding the turn out of the straight on the first occasion.
DEFINE CHRONIC – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Race 4: HIBERNIAN RACES MAY 24 CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M
DAYZARI – Slow to begin. Shifted in abruptly a short distance after the start to avoid the heels of Chillin With Dylan, which shifted in. R. Wiggins, rider of Chillin With Dylan, was advised to exercise more care.
Race 5: MM GOLD COAST STARTS TOMORROW CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1100M
MISHANI GLADIATOR – Simultaneously as the start was effected put its head down in the barriers, losing considerable ground. Trainer E. Petrie was advised that the horse must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to it being permitted to race again. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
WYLIE – Raced in restricted room between runners and had to be steadied near the 600m.
CONFIDENT STAR – Shifted out near the 600m and again near the 250m.
PHOENIX FORCE – Steadied near the 250m when tightened for room.
Race 6: TRADE ALLIANCE F & M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1050M
SECRET PROCESS – Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the race.
PANCH KALYAN – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.
FLYING TIGER – Momentarily held up for clear running near the 200m.
Race 7: BARRIER REEF POOLS C,G & E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 11050M
KING’S MEMORY – Dwelt at the start and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be sore in the near-side knee. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the horse being permitted to trial or race again.
NO IFS OR BUTS – Slow to begin.
RAPID ARROW – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 800m.
CHEEKYBOI – Held up and unable to improve leaving the 300m. Stewards questioned S. Drake into her riding of the horse in particular from the 200m to the winning post. Miss Drake stated she was disappointed for a run near the 250m and when steadied lost momentum. She then attempted a run to the outside of NO IFS OR BUTS approaching the 100m, however when that run closed was obliged to shift back to the inside and whilst the horse started to finish the race off well, was of the opinion that its run had come to an end. Whilst stewards noted her explanation, she was nevertheless admonished and advised in future not to leave herself open to question and to ride her mounts right out to the finish line.
JUST A CRACKER - Hung in leaving the 200m and became awkward on the heels of Rapid Arrow, which also shifted out at that point.
VERTE DIEU – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LIFE’S LIKE THAT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 8: RAILWAY HOTEL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200M
CRABBING - The start was delayed when CRABBING became fractious in the barriers and became momentarily cast. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon, the horse was declared a late scratching at 4.55 pm on veterinary advice with the following deductions applicable.
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets on the winner Roman Secret
9 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets on the winner Roman Secret
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd placed Dame Destiny
11 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd placed Bandory
Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate must be provided for CRABBING prior to its next race start.
TANGENT – Which was stationed in the adjacent stall was also examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start.
MOUNT PERRY – Slow to begin.
RED LETTER DAY – Slow to begin.
KING OF JACKS – Began awkwardly.
DAME DESTINY – Raced wide in the early stages.
ROMAN SECRET – Raced wide throughout.
