GENERAL

As S. Galloway was indisposed, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

RACE 1: RAILWAY HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0-65 H'CAP – 1650M

WE’RE READY – Held up rounding the home turn and then was disappointed for a run to the inside of ROYAL EVENT upon straightening.

MONSIEUR HUGHES – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which performed below market expectations failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Dann advised that the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell.

CLANGORANDA – Raced wide from the 600m onwards.

RACE 2: GAME ON INTERNATIONAL F&M CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1100M

SHADY DAISY – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and was retired from the event. Trainer L. Ross was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

KATELETTE – Hung out rounding the turn near the 700m.

ASSERTORY – Had to be steadied from the heels of KATELETTE near the 600m. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.

INTERLUDE – Slow to begin.

MISS TYPIN – Lost ground rounding the home turn when placed in restricted room between CONMIGO and KATELETTE. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 3: QPSIG F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

The start was delayed when YOU CAN’T FIND ME dislodged its rider behind the barriers.

WHITE HUMOUR – Raced wide throughout. Bumped by SHADES OF PEARL near the 500m and became unbalanced. When questioned as to his tactics, jockey V. Venkaya stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position and after beginning only fairly he rode the mare along in an effort to comply with his instructions which resulted in him being unable to obtain cover and racing three wide throughout. Jockey Venkaya, in hindsight, agreed with stewards that after beginning only fairly he would have been better served attempting to obtain cover at the rear of the field.

PELLONIA – Near the 150m had to be steadied from the heels of FLINDERS PEAK which shifted in marginally.

SHADES OF PEARL – Began very awkwardly. Had to be momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed between runners near the 500m. When questioned as to the horse’s performance, apprentice S. Lacy stated that the filly lost ground at the start after beginning awkwardly. She added that despite this the filly was under pressure leaving the 500m and finished off the race only fairly and in her opinion proved disappointing. Trainer P. Duncan expressed his disappointment in the filly’s overall performance. Mr Duncan was at a loss to explain the performance as the filly had trialled well leading into the race.

YOU CAN’T FIND ME – Dislodged its rider behind the barriers. After cantering for a short distance the horse was recaptured, returned to the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start. Bumped heavily at the start.

AMBER JET – Bumped heavily at the start. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

VON FAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout without cover.

RACE 4: XXXX C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

The start was delayed when LUCKY THREE SEVENS underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of the rider and was subsequently cleared to start. The start was further delayed when PITBULL underwent a veterinary examination after making contact with the outside running rail during its preliminary and was subsequently cleared to start.

KEEP THE RHYTHM – Raced wide throughout.

LUCKY THREE SEVENS – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn and was obliged to shift back to the inside to obtain clear running.

MAGHAANEM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Overraced in the early stages. Hung in in the home straight.

SIR GREGOR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

CAFE TERRACE – Began awkwardly. Hung in over the concluding stages.

DASH THING – Slow to begin.

HOPE ISLAND – R. Wiggins reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out in the middle stages and was reluctant to improve to the inside of CAFE TERRACE, resulting in his mount losing ground on the leaders leaving the 600m.

SWANS LAGOON – Raced three wide without cover from a point near the 600m.

RACE 5: BEAUDESERT SOFT DRINKS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M

RAINBOW SPIRIT – Bumped with another runner rounding the home turn.

THE TROUBLE MAKER – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and was retired from the event. Trainer J. Morrisey was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

CAPTAIN EXCEL – Bumped with another runner rounding the home turn.

STAR OF MONACO – Slow to begin and then failed to muster speed and trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to revealed any abnormalities. Trainer B. Baldwin was advised that the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to starting again.

MISHANI NEFERTITI – Raced three wide without cover throughout and then laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SPANISH EYES – Near the 1200m had to be steadied from the heels of WORLD SPECIAL, which shifted in.

RACE 6: HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1300M

ALL NATURAL – Bumped by LAMBENCY rounding the home turn, tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Jockey G. Geran, the rider of CLOUT was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that rounding the home turn he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ALL NATURAL. Jockey Geran’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Thursday 17 December and expire at midnight on Friday 25 December 2015. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer D. Bell advised that the horse would be sent for a spell.

MARLENE ADELE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

ULTRA EGO – Lost ground when tightened for room shortly after the start.

FRISCO JOE – Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of LAMBENCY near the 700m. Hung in under pressure approaching the 100m.
