Race 1 - RFDS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE         1200 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed for approximately 2 minutes  when FILLYDELPHIA MISS was very fractious in the barriers causing the rider to drop her whip which was retrieved prior to the start being effected.  
 
EXCEPTIONAL RUPERT – Apprentice A. Brennan was harmlesly dislodged in the mounting yard prior to the race. Ms Brennan was examined by QAS and cleared of injury. Trainer K. Sims was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its pre-race manners.
 
FILLYDELPHIA MISS – Began awkwardly and bumped BARRYTHEBARBARIC. Laid out for the majority proving difficult to ride and eased down over the final 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer L. Manzelmann was advised that FILLYDELPHIA MISS would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate and would also require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
SECRET SUSPICION – Rider J. Pracey-Holmes reported his mount travelled well in the early stages, however when asked for an effort in the home straight proved disappointing. Rider Pracey-Holmes was reminded of his obligations in riding his mounts out fully to the finish line.
 
BARRYTHEBARBARIC – Bumped on jumping. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.


Race 2 - NOT JUST HARDWARE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP      1600 Metres
 
SMASHING ROSIE – Slow into stride. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ABLE SEAMAN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Rider R. Faehr reported after being caught wide in the early stages, the gelding was disappointing when asked for an effort in the home straight, however, in his opinion, he felt the gelding does not run out a strong 1600m.  
 
MAYOR OF KINGSTON – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice J. Busuttin pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m and 20 times in totality. Ms Busuttin’s license to ride in races was suspended for 8 days commencing at midnight the 5th of September 2026 and ending at midnight the 13th of September 2026. Apprentice Busuttin was advised of her right to an appeal.
 


Race 3 - BIRDSVILLE RACES ROADIES CLASS 3 PLATE            1400 Metres
 
QUELLO DORATO – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.
 
HERE I COME (NZ) – Rider P. Hamblin was reminded of his obligations when using the whip when when his mounts are clearly out of contention.
 
PRIVATE TENDER – Bumped heavily on jumping. Near the 1200m, whilst over racing, was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of KIJIVU, then continued to over race for some distance until passing the 800m. Near the 400m, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MISS MONEYPENNY – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider L. Tilley reported when he asked the mare for an effort proved disappointing. He further added that in his opinion, MISS MONEYPENNY may not have backed up from racing at Cairns on the 29th of August.  
 
ENGELINE (IRE) – Bumped on jumping. Obliged to alter course upon entering the home straight to the inside of KIJIVU in order to obtain clear running.
 
FOREVER A DIAMOND – Approaching the 300m, was momentarily awkwardly placed on the heels of MISS MONEYPENNY before shifting wider to obtain clear running.


Race 4 - BIRDSVILLE HOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP       1200 Metres
 
FARNESINA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
BOULEVARD BOY – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PRIVATE SHOWTIME – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MLINZI – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 800m, forced wider when ANDERS KISS was inclined to hang out. Rider L. Tilley reported that his mount failed to travel comfortably in the anti-clockwise direction.
 
ANDERS KISS – Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Rider Apprentice J. Busuttin reported her mount was inclined to hang out in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to control. Trainer L. Manzelmann was advised a warning would be placed on the filly for its racing manners.
 
KINDLY (NZ) - Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground. Shifted in abruptly passing the 300m before being corrected by its rider.


Race 5 - TAB CLASS 5 HANDICAP      1200 Metres
 
GREAT COSMIC – Passing the 200m, rider K. Nestor lost the use of his inside rein until near the 50m.
 
DEFERENTIAL – Slow to begin. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
IOANE (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
STECARA – Slow to begin. Near the 900m, when racing keenly, was steadied from heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
FRAWLEY – Near the 900m, was eased when the pace of the race slackened. Rider R. Faehr reported his mount resented the kickback in the early stages of the home straight.
 
DISCREET MISS – Near the 900m, was eased when the pace of the race slackened.


Race 6 - AKUBRA BIG RED OPEN QUALITY HANDICAP         1000 Metres
 
PESHWA – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
REVOLT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in when when placed under pressure passing the 200m, then laid out over the final 50m.
 
KALASHNIKOV – Bumped on jumping.
 
COCHRANE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight, then had to be steadied passing the 400m, when REVOLT (K Nestor) shifted in momentarily when insuffiently clear. Rider of REVOLT, K. Nestor was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. Continued to be held up until leaving the 100m.
 
MON PIERRE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
REVALENE – Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the rightside shoulder region.
 
LUCKY FORTUNA – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
