Race 1: Jellinbah Mining Class B Handicap – 950 metres

PENNYCALAINE and RAVELLING were scratched at scratching time due to no available riders.

DRAGSTER- Began awkwardly.

MYSTIC LAD- At the start, shifted out and made contact with FLAMBOYANT MISS.

FLAMBOYANT MISS- Began awkwardly, contact at the start with another runner.

LITTLE PADDY- In the straight, inclined to lay in.

Race 2: Blackwater Hotel Motel QTIS Maiden Plate- 950m

CAUGHT COURTNEY- Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the filly to be lame in front and treatment was adminstered. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required if the filly returns to racing.

ON A ZEPHYR- Rider reported when crossed by other runners, resented the kickback and failed to travel well for the remainder.

Apprentice N Summers was fined $200 for use of her whip on 3 more occasions that permitted and 3 times consecutively (ROCKET LINER).

Race 3: Schwarz Excavations BM50 Handicap- 1300 metres
CURLEW- Late scratching at 9.10am due to no available riders.

CLASPED- Slow to begin.

Race 4: T&J Whitehouse Investments Newmarket BM 65 Handicap- 1200 metres

INACTION- Knuckled on jumping.

HALFBLOOD PRINCE- During the middle stages, lay inwards and made contact with the running rail.

Jockey J Babarovich was reprimanded for use of whip 2 times more than permissible prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account that Jockey Babarovich had ridden at two meetings since the introduction of the amended rule and otherwise good record in relation to whip offences.
