SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
GENERAL
The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards as no available or suitable riders were available:
R2 – SIR OCCY, LIGHT UP THE DAWN.
R3 – BAG OF WHITT, SAVVY SONG.
R4 – RELATED DUTY
Race 1:Charleville Newsagency & Warrego Couriers Qtis Maiden Plate 1200m
FLYING TO MARS – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to seemingly poor performance which revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer B Bowen was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
MUMMIFICATION – Stood flat footed. Trainer C Rodgers was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
JEROME – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
PRIZED GESTURE – Began awkwardly bumping JEROME.
BONTOBEWILD – Began awkwardly. Trainer W Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the filly for its pre-race behavior.
QUEEN'S COMMAND – Raced wide throughout.
SKY CABLE – Trainer G Bignell was advised a warning would be placed on the filly for being difficult to load.
Race 2:Cattle Camp Hotel Ratings Band 0 - 50 Handicap 1000m
SEEBURG – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
MUIRON – Slow to begin.
BOSS BANDIT – Harmlessly dislodged rider D Evans enroute to barriers and broke away for a short distance before being recaptured. Underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start.
TO THE WORLD – Bumped on jumping.
ROX'N'ROL – Began awkwardly bumping TO THE WORLD. Raced wide throughout.
GOLDIE’S POWER – When questioned on the performance of the mare rider B Newport reported the mare felt flat throughout however believes would benefit in fitness from the run. A post-race examination revealed no obvious abnormlities.
KRAKEN EDITION – Stood flat footed. Trainer B Bowen was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
Race 3:Jane Baker Memorial Benchmark 65 Handicap 1050m
MON PIERRE – Raced wide throughout.
TURNSTAR – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ZA HIDDEN DRAGON – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
ENFLAMED – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Rider B Newport was firmly reminded of his obligations to ride fully to the line when circumstances permit.
Race 4:Charleville Hardware Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap 1400m
BEST SIDE – Raced extremely wide upon entering the home straight.
LEGISLATE– Rider J Baker was reminded of his obligations to ride fully to the line when circumstances permit.
THE GOSSIPER – Eased down from the 300m. Rider T Banks reported the gelding resented the kickback and elected to ease his mount down from the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer, G Bignell will follow up with Stewards in the following days if anything comes to light that may have had a bearing on the gelding’s performance.
BUGDEN – Slow to muster early speed.
TOUGH JUDGE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
READY MADE – On straightening had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of TOUGH JUDGE which laid out despite the effort of its rider.
Race 5:Les Baker Memorial Open Handicap 1400m
PARKO – Bumped on jumping. When asked to comment on the gelding’s performance, apprentice I Jessop stated that her mount travelled well throughout until placed under pressure in the home straight and proved disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer, W Baker will follow up with Stewards in the following days if anything comes to light that may have had a bearing on the gelding’s performance.
WARRAH FLASH – Slow to begin. Over-raced in early and middle stages.
VICTORY BAY (NZ) – Shifted out on jumping making heavy contact with HIDDEN EYES which in turn bumped PARKO. Raced extremely wide upon entering the home straight.
HIDDEN EYES – Bumped heavily on jumping and was slow away. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to seemingly poor performance which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
