GENERAL
Race 5: FRIDAY’S JET late scratching by order of Stewards at 11am due to no available riders.
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1: S Sweedman +.50kg (58)
Race 3: S Sweedman +.50kg (58)
Rider S Sweedman was reprimanded under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting rides when overweight.
 
RACE 1: BMO BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400m
DONEGAL BAY – Slow into stride. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PRAISE YOU – Approaching the 100m was restrained off the heels of DONEGAL BAY (App I Jessop) after attempting a narrow run to the outside of DONEGAL BAY and the inside of HARLEQUIN FIELD, when DONEGAL BAY laid out. Apprentice I Jessop was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident. Trainer H Schwanke was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being difficult to load.
 
SHOOTING FIRM – Slow to begin.
 
BODYSWERVE – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
VIZSTAR – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Passing the 200m was momentarily hampered when BODYSWERVE laid out.
 
RACE 2: HURL 'EM OUT BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m
PALATIAL PRINCE – Performed below expectations. App J Emmerson stated the gelding did not appreciate the tempo of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
DESERT STAR – Performed below expectations. Rider P Hamblin stated the gelding travelled throughout however when placed under pressure proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
POCKET EIGHTS – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
BRAVE EMMA – Raced wide with cover for the majority.
 
CRAIGLEA MERIDA – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. App V Soulsby reported her mount laid out throughout the event.
 
JEROME – Slow to muster early speed.
 
RACE 3: WDC QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
COLINTON - Raced in restricted room passing the 1000m becoming awkwardly placed on the inside rail at the point of the first turn. Restrained off heels near the 800m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
REVANTAS – Approaching the 900m was awkwardly placed on the heels of CORONATION DAY (App K Barker) when that runner momentarily shifted in. App K Barker was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident.
 
NASIRON – Bumped on jumping by OUTAGES and again bumped with OUTAGES near the 1100m when that runner laid in. Passing the 1000m when over racing, raced in restricted room and was oblige to steady when racing to the inside of OUTAGES which was laying in and away from MASI KURA which was shifting in and away from REVANTAS which was also laying in. As Stewards could not deem the interference to be solely attributable to any individual rider/s, Stewards took no further action other than to remind all riders to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
OUTAGES – Shifted out on jumping bumping NASIRON, then bumped again with NASIRON near the 1100m when that runner laid in.
 
MASI KURA - Laid in from 1100m to 1000m.
 
RACE 4: COL ASPINALL & SANDY SUEY OPEN HANDICAP 1070M
ELECTED (IRE)- Began awkwardly.
 
INATICK – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Near the 100m shifted in abruptly then continued to lay in under pressure from that point onwards, proving difficult to ride.
 
TERAMBI – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
SMACKEROONY – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
RACE 5: CHARLEY'S CREEK CAMPING CHINCHILLA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP
BONNIE AMORE – Slow to muster early speed. Tailed the field for the majority before being eased down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer, S Mcewan was a advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
 
OYSTERCATCHER – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground.
 
CALMER KARMA – Raced wide with cover for the majority. 
 
KEWELL – Began very awkwardly shifting out and bumping heavily with OYSTERCATCHER and lost ground.
 
DESTINY GUNGHO – Trainer M Birt advised rider A Spinks to use his whip sparingly.
 
MASTER MIYAGI – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PACIFIC PIRATE – Slow to begin.
 
DAUNTING INSTINCT – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
