RACE 1: LADBROKES MATES MODE MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO ONLY) – 950 Metres
SENSEI GIRL – Slow into stride. Made the 700 metre crossing awkwardly. Laid out in the middle stages and rounding the home turn. Trainer G. Kinlyside advised stewards the filly dislodged a tooth in its upper jaw during the race.
I'LLTELLYOUAFTER – Shifted out at the start bumping ROCKY PRINCE.
ROCKY PRINCE – Bumped on jumping. Laid out rounding the home turn.
SWEET 'N' ELITE – Shifted in at the start bumping with TRUSTING STAR.
TRUSTING STAR – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping RAAR. Improved onto heels and shifted inwards near the 200 metres.
RAAR – Bumped on jumping and was unbalanced. Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 500 metres throwing its head in the air.
MONTY ROAD – Apprentice Jockey Ms. S. Pointon pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres with a totality of 16 times. Apprentice Pointon’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days to commence midnight 19th May 2026 and expire midnight 26th May 2026. When considering the penalty stewards took into account Ms. Pointon’s guilty plea, being an apprentice jockey and it being her first offence of this rule breach along with her conduct throughout the inquiry. Ms. Pointon was advised of her appeal rights.
RACE 2:DNC PLUMBING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
EXODAS – Trainer L. Manzelmann was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late decleration of rider when other riders were available.
NORDIC INVADER – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was found to have soreness in the near fore leg and as such was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.02pm. All monies wagered on NORDIC INVADER were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions to be applicable on all successful bets prior to 1.02pm.

· 4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME
· 4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place INSTA WORTHY
MISTER DOOBEE – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. When asked to explain the gelding’s performance today jockey I. Fry advised that in his opinion MISTER DOOBEE was not comfortable in today’s heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RAFF VADER – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 500 metres and was steadied.
NOTTINGTON PRINCE – Raced wide in the early stages.
BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME – Over-raced in the middle stages.
RACE 3:AUSSIE DRILL KINGS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 950 Metres
Trainer A. Bailey pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 106(1) which reads:
AR 106 Saddling a horse
(1) The trainer of a horse is at all times responsible for the proper saddling and application and fitting of all gear to a horse (including the correct saddlecloth number) presented for a race, official trial, jump-out or trackwork.
The specifics of the charge being that he was negligent in that he saddled number 3, KITEEMA 59 kilograms with saddle number 4, FANCY GARTER’S 58 kilograms saddle and was in the process of placing number 3 saddle on FANCY GARTER before being told by steward Mr. S Copelin of the incorrect saddling. In considering penalty stewards were mindful Mr. Bailey had three runners in the race and his guilty plea. Mr. Bailey was fined the sum of $400 and was advised of his right of appeal.
SHE'S SPEEDY – Slow to begin.
IRISH GIFT – Slow to begin.
FANCY GARTER – Fractious in the barriers beginning awkwardly and lost ground.
KITEMA – Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200 metres.
RACE 4: BABINDA ELECTRICS OPEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres
MISSILE THUNDER – Due to an error during the weigh out process apprentice jockey L. Guernier weighed out at an incorrect weight resulting in the saddle being recalled and being reweighed.
LADY DAMUS – Shifted in at the start bumping SOWILO SIREN. Jockey R. Wiggins advised stewards he was struck above the left eye by a clog of dirt.
SOWILO SIREN – Bumped on jumping.
BLUE STRATUM – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping ALMIGHTY JAB causing jockey S. Cormack to become momentarily unbalanced.
ALMIGHTY JAB – Bumped on jumping.
RACE 5: RED BERET HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
BOMBINATE – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the 50 metres inconveniencing BRAND NEW. Jockey M. Abe was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
EYELEFTIT – Slow into stride.
STARMEIRA – Crowded for room near the 900 metres.
BRAND NEW (NZ) – Restrained and shifted inwards away from the heels of BOMBINATE which shifted in near the 50 metres.
TSUNAMI – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
VERBALIZE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
THIRD MASTER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
RACE 6:CAIRNS CAR BROKERS CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
ACCLIMATISE – A pre-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ECLIPSION – Shifted out at the start bumping CYCLONE COCO.
CYCLONE COCO – Bumped on jumping. Improved onto heels near the 800 metres and was steadied. When asked to explain the performance today, apprentice jockey S. Pointon advised that in her opinion the gelding was not comfortable in today’s heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
OUR MISSILE – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
FOOLS PLAY – Jockey L. Morrison dismounted on pulling up explaining she was of the opinion the gelding was not comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 7:TJ CASEY RACING BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
SKOGAFOSS – Slow into stride.
ELLIE'S DREAM – Over-raced in the middle stages and restrained off heels near the 900 metres.
MATERIALIST – Unable to obtain clear running entering the home straight until near the 100 metres.
LINE 'EM UP LOUI – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres and again a short distance later bumping IRRESISTIBLE FORCE which in turn shifted out bumping NOLAN which was unbalanced. Jockey R. Wiggins was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
IRRESISTIBLE FORCE – Bumped near the 200 metres.
NOLAN – Bumped and was unbalanced leaving the 200 metres.
BUFFET BUSTER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
RACE 8:LADBROKES OWNERS PROMOTION CLASS 2 PLATE – 1250 Metres
TIPPED OFF – Slow to begin.
SHE'S A BEAUTY – Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin.
DOWN THE KOOKA – Began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with its inside barrier gate and then crowding KIRIKAN.
FLORAL LEGEND – Began very awkwardly and over-raced in the early and middle stages being restrained from heels near the 900 metres.
AIRBORNE HOTDOG – Began awkwardly.
KIRIKAN (NZ) – Crowded on jumping.
SWEET CANDY – Over-raced in the early stages.
CHARM TELLER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
