Race 1 - FGF BITUMEN MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 3YO'S ONLY) – 1250 Metres
 
PERFECT FAWAZ – Delayed the start when underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 12.41pm when found to lame in the off front leg. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on PERFECT FAWAZ were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 12.41pm:

2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner JUST A DUCHESS 
3 cents in the dollar for 2nd place IT’S SHOWTIME

Co-Trainers T & P Rowe were advised they mustobtain a veterinary clearance of soundness for the mare prior to being permitted to race or trial again.  
 
IT'S SHOWTIME – Shifted in at the start inconveniencing ROSSA VISTA which in turn inconvenienced GRIM BEEFER which was slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800 metres. Again, shifter wider rounding the home turn.
 
ROSSA VISTA – Inconvenienced on jumping.
 
GRIM BEEFER – Slow to begin and then inconvenienced by ROSSA VISTA which was forced wider on jumping. Shifted in near the 1000 metres making contact with the running rail and lost ground.
 
PRAGUE PRIDE – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800 metres.
 
 LILSISTERDON'TCHA – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
JUST A DUCHESS – Shifter wider rounding the home turn. When asked to explain the performance today as compared to its previous run Townsville 18 August 2026 connections advised the filly was unable to handle the step up to 1400 metres and further added it raced fiercely on that occasion and the drop back in distance today was a telling factor. The explanation was noted.  
 
MOONYA LAD – Laid out under pressure in the home straight and shifted wider.
 
Race 2 - SPEEWAH GARDENS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
ANDERS KISS – Raced ungenerously for some distance leaving the 1000 metres.
 
MISS BOHO FASHION – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  
 
Race 3 - LADBROKES CLASS 6 PLATE – 1250 Metres
 
THE EXTREME CAT – Slow to begin.
 
MISS MONEYPENNY – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
ARCTIC BEAR – Began awkwardly.
 
IT'S BEEN A TREK – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping OUR ADDICTION.
 
LINE 'EM UP LOUI – Over-raced in the early stages. Difficulties obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
 
MCLOVIN – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
NOLAN – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
OUR ADDICTION – Bumped soon after the start. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. 
 
Race 4 - LOUIE PICCONE MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP –          950 Metres
 
SINGULAR – Fractious during it preliminary dislodging its tongue tie. Due to being fractious the tongue tie could not be replaced and permission was granted for gelding to race without that piece of gear. Trainer S. Massingham advised the gear change had been made following its last start where it raced without tongue tie. Raced strongly when being restrained from its wide barrier gate.  
 
LUCKY ROLLA – Slow to begin.
 
THREEBROTHERS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
FLORAL LEGEND – Began awkwardly throwing its head in the air.
 
SHE'S SPEEDY – Shifted inwards to obtain clear running leaving the 200 metres bumping TSUKINO and shifted in further tightening the running of TSUKINO which was heavily restrained and taken inwards onto AIRBORNE HOTDOG which was checked. Soon after this incident, SHE’S SPEEDY was momentarily crowded by WILLINGALE which was taken inwards by FAKE which shifted in under riding. Jockey R. Wiggins was found guilty of a charge under AR 131(a) careless riding in that he permitted SHE’S SPEEDY to shift in leaving the 200 metres tightening the running of TSUKINO and AIRBORNE HOTDOG. R. Wiggins licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 6 September 2026 until midnight 14 September 2026. R. Wiggins was advised of his appeal rights.
In considering penalty stewards took into account jockey Wiggins recent record and his riding frequency.     
 
TSUKINO – Bumped leaving the 200 metres and tightened for room and when being restrained shifted in tightening the running of AIRBORNE HOTDOG.
 
AIRBORNE HOTDOG – Tightened for room leaving the 200 metres and was checked.
 
FAKE – Shifted in under riding approaching the 150 metres forcing WILLINGALE inwards, momentarily crowding SHE’S SPEEDY. Jockey L. Morrison was reprimanded and advised to show greater care.
 
WILLINGALE – Taken inwards approaching the 150 metres momentarily crowding SHE’S SPEEDY.
 
CANNY PROSPECT – Raced wide.
 
GUAC ON – Raced wide with no cover.
 
Race 5 - ASAHI BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
COLOURS OF AUTUMN – Slow to begin. Steadied near the 1000 metres. Steadied near the 400 metres when momentarily crowded when racing to the inside of AVENUE MONTAIGNE. Stewards noted apprentice jockey F. Sandkuhl exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ three) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
MOEGREEN (NZ) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey S. Cormack was of the opinion the gelding got its tongue over the bit.  
 
EL PENSADOR – Made the 1000 metre turn awkwardly.
 
GOT GUMPTION – Over-raced in the middle stages. Subsequently trainer Z. McFarlane advised stewards that on returning to his stable base, GOT GUMPTION was found to be lame in the near front leg. Mr. McFarlane was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness for the gelding prior to it racing or trialing again.  
 
INCHING CLOSER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
COLLEANO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CANBERRA LEGEND (IRE) – Stewards noted jockey R. Wiggins exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ two) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
 
Race 6 - MAGIC MILLIONS DAINTREE GUINEAS QTIS 4YO HANDICAP – 1450 Metres
 
FARAWAY DOWNS – Delayed the start when fractious in the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination being declared a late scratching at 3.39pm when found to lame in the near hind leg. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on FARAWAY DOWNS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.39pm:

Trainer T. Button was advised he mustobtain a veterinary clearance of soundness for the gelding prior to being permitted to race or trial again. Mr. Button further advised it is the intention FARAWAY DOWNS be sent for an immediate spell.   
 
YOUMEANDDUPRE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
KAJETAN – Slow to begin.
 
GENERAL GORDON – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result raced wide without cover.
 
BIANCA MIA – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
TORANAGA – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MAYOR OF KINGSTON – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TIME POWER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.   
 
Race 7 - RED BERET HOTEL CAIRNS CUP – 2100 Metres
 
RAJNISH – Trainer J. Doolan was fined the sum of $100 under the provision of LR 67(1) in that she failed to declare a rider be the prescribed time.
 
THAT'S MOLLY – Slow to begin.
 
THE PENSKE FILE – Slow to begin. Raced wide until improving forward near the 1300 metres.
 
ALABAMA MOONLIGHT – Began awkwardly.
 
HOPEFUL (FR) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and shifted out near the 1500 metres hampering GOING NUCLEAR.
 
SMART LEGEND – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
GOING NUCLEAR – Over-raced in the middle stages. Hampered near the 1500 metres. Checked leaving the 500 metres when tightened for room.            
 
CHOIR BOY – Jockey I. Fry was found guilty to a charge under AR 131(a) in that he permitted CHOIR BOY to shift in leaving the 500 metres when not fully clear of GOING NUCLEAR which was checked. Jockey Fry’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence midnight 30 August 2026 and expire midnight 12 September 2026. Jockey Fry was advised of his appeal rights. In considering penalty stewards took into account jockey Fry’s recent record and the status of this race.   
 
ELLA TE AMA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to its near side fetlock. Co-Trainers T & P Rowe were advised they mustobtain a veterinary clearance of soundness for the mare prior to being permitted to race or trial again. 
 
Race 8 - CSF INDUSTRIES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1250 Metres
 
HOT DIGITY BOOM – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start.
 
KHALS – Slow to begin.
 
SPIRIT OF GIVING – Shifted in at the start tightening INSTA WORTHY. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GERALDINE'S WISH – Shifted out at the start tightening INSTA WORTHY. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
INSTA WORTHY – Tightened for room on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages. Bumped near the 200 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race without cover.
 
SHARMAN PETE – Made the 750 metre crossing awkwardly.
 
BANCORY BAY – Commenced to lay out leaving the 300 metres and shifted out near the 200 metres bumping INSTANT WORTHY.
 
IMPRESSIONISM – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
TIPPED OFF – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
