Race 1: Careers Australia Benchmark 95 H'cap - 2200m

EXECUTE AT DAWN – Shifted out and brushed the hind quarters of another runner at the entrance to the home straight.

Race 2: Clem Jones Centre Benchmark 85 H'cap – 1200m

LE VAL – Slow to begin.

COSMONAUT – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running between the 250m and passing the 200m and shifted in and made contact with another runner and again had difficulty improving until passing the 100m.

MISS STASH – Slow to begin.

GREY COUNTESS – Jumped away awkwardly.

ADORABUBBLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

FLYING RIDDLE – Raced 3 wide in the early stages until a point approaching the 600m.

EASTERN PRINCE – Raced wide throughout. Rider T. Berry could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed mild lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer G. Heinrich was advised that she must supply a veterinary certificate prior to the gelding racing again. Mrs Heinrich undertook to have further veterinary tests carried out and will report the findings to stewards.


Race 3: Morgans Seafood Phelan Ready Stakes - 1050m

RELAMPAGO – Slow to begin.

WICKED INVESTMENT – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped another runner.

KING DRABADORE – After travelling a short distance, hung in despite the efforts of its rider and made contact with another runner.

APOLLO HOPE – Bumped after travelling a short distance. Raced greenly throughout.

RED MAGIC – Rider reported the colt hung out for a major part of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 4: Yatala Pies Calaway Gal Stakes – 1050m

CASSE BLEU – Jumped away awkwardly. Hung in after leaving the 800m. Tightened for room after leaving the 400m and made contact with the rail and had to be checked severely. A post race veterinary examination revealed shin soreness in the near foreleg.

KYOTO ROSE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 700m and shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner. Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 500m. Shifted out abruptly away from another runner on the home turn and made that turn very wide.

ST REMY – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 700m. Bumped heavily by another runner rounding the home turn and became unbalanced, losing significant ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed cuts to both hind coronets.

FLAMENCO – Hampered soon after the start. Rider L. Cassidy was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out near the 100m when not fully clear of another runner. Sprung its near fore plate in running and had sustained a laceration to the off hind leg.

STAR OF NIGHT – Bumped and taken wider on the track near the 700m. Shifted in abruptly after leaving the 400m and bumped another runner.

SAILOR GERRI – Steadied from heels near the 100m.

SUPERSAY – Raced 3 wide without cover.
Race 5: Belvedere Gold Edition Plate – 1200m

DEUCED – Kicked by another runner in the mounting yard. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid heels near the 800m.

LITTLE FIGHTER – Slow to begin.

OUR NEDDY BOY – Rider J. Taylor reported his mount never travelled comfortably in today’s conditions, although in the home straight did make up some ground.

OUR LADY MAC – Raced 3 wide without cover.

HOMEHILL – Raced 3 wide throughout.


Race 6: Kingston Park Just Now F&M H'cap – 1350m

TINTO – Slow to begin.

DISCREET – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight until the concluding stages.

SHIRAZ ATTACK – Held up in the straight until leaving the 200m. Raced wide throughout.

STRADAM – Raced 3 wide without cover.

COMMANDING WIT – Rider L. Cassidy explained that the mare enjoyed a nice run with cover and when pressured from the 500m did not quicken as he expected and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.


Race 7: Ray Nolan Brisbane H'cap - 1600m

TINTS – Hampered at the start.

KISS ME DEADLY – Jumped away awkwardly. Lost off fore plate in running.

ALDINI – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

WAR ENDS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

NOISY OCEAN – A post race veterinary examination revealed soreness over the off-side rump.




Race 8: Coca-Cola Class 6 H'cap – 1350m

MAGIC IN MOTION – Apprentice B. Grylls was examined by the doctor and stood down from this engagement. J. Lloyd was substituted as the rider of this horse when there was no apprentice available.

HEART OF MANY – Began awkwardly.

EYE WINSOME – Pulled hard in the early stages.

WINGARA – Raced wide without cover throughout.

ENDLESS SHADOW – Had to be eased approaching the 900m to avoid the heels of another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout.

VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Steadied off heels rounding the home turn.
