GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
 
Race 1: D. Boche +0.5kg (55kg)
Race 1: M. Murphy +1kg (55kg)
Race 8: M. Rodd +0.5kg (55kg)
 
Stewards accepted Trainer S. Kendrick’s explanation for the late declaration of C. Collis as the rider of SENESCHAL in Race 8.
 
Prior to the running of Race 1, Stewards inspected the track and upgraded it to a Soft 7 at 10:41am.
 
RACE 1: RACECOURSE VILLAGE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000 M
 
CONCESSION – Commenced to over-race in the middle stages when being restrained.
 
SEYMOUR STARS – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the 2nd occasion. As this was the second bleeding attack, under the provisions of AR79(6) Trainer D. Grisedale was advised that mare would now incur a lifetime ban from racing in Australia. 
 
 
HEY DAISY – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after jumping away resulting in HEY DAISY being carried in across the heels of CONCESSION and having to be steadied. Held up on entering the home straight and was obliged to alter course and shift out to improve into clear running passing the 200m.
 
LOKEN – Passing the 600m became awkwardly placed at the heels of SEYMOUR STARS, which shifted in to take up a position closer to the rail. Jockey J. Grisedale the rider of SEYMOUR STARS was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until passing the 200m.
 
BAD FOREST – Momentarily inconvenienced leaving the 200m after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of CONCESSION, which was carried out by HEY DAISY, which shifted out to improve. Jockey D. Moor the rider of HEY DAISY was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
 
RACE 2: SUNSET SOIREE BOOK NOW BM70 HANDICAP 2200 M
 
AKKADIAN EMPEROR (IRE) – Began awkwardly.
 
CARACORON (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
FULMEN FILOU – Slow to begin.
 
LENAPE VIBE – Slow to begin. Jockey R. Maloney reported at scale that in his opinion, LENAPE VIBE is one paced and when placed under pressure, was unable to make up ground on the leaders. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
LOVEY DOVEY – Slow to begin.
 
PROCHESTER (NZ) – Leaving the 1400m, shifted three wide to improve from a position at the rear of the field to settle midfield. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
MR O'REILLY – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BITOFTHEBLARNEY (NZ) – Approaching the 1800m, commenced to over-race for a short distance when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
Following the running of this race, Stewards upgraded the track to a Soft 6.
 
RACE 3: MICK BAWDEN QTIS JEWEL PRELUDE QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD COLTS AND GELDINGS HANDICAP 1000 M
 
 
AREPRICE – Began awkwardly and bumped with SLING. Laid out for a short distance passing the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
FINAL CRUSADE – Began awkwardly. Passing the 100m, shied and shifted wider on the track. Jockey R. Maloney reported that his mount raced greenly when placed under pressure. Trainers’ representative B. Cavanaugh was advised that a warning would now be placed on the colt in relation to its racing manners.
SI SI SI SIESTA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice C. Sutherland reported at scale that the colt may have gotten its tongue over the bit.
 
TOSEN SABI – Approaching the 600m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of AREPRICEwhich shifted in before steadying the pace of the race. Jockey G. Cartwright the rider of AREPRICE was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(d) for reducing the speed. Jockey G. Cartwright reported that after obtaining the lead, her mount pricked its ears which may have contributed to it coming back quicker than anticipated.
 
RADOMIR (NZ) – Approaching the 700m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FINAL CRUSADE which shifted in. Jockey R. Maloney the rider of FINAL CRUSADE was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
 
SLING – Bumped on jumping away. Passing the 600m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of dupes and had to be restrained after the pace of the race slackened.
 
 
RACE 4: SKY RACING QTIS JEWEL PRELUDE 2YO FILLIES QUALITY HANDICAP 1000 M
 
SUN SISTER – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
GLEN'S HEN – Inconvenienced on jumping away and lost ground.
 
NIGHT MARKET – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on performance, Apprentice E. Lang reported that her mount raced greenly and in her opinion would derive benefit from today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
MISHANI ROZAY – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced in restricted room for a short distance whilst weakening approaching the 200m.
 
SHE'S HOTSTUFF – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
 
RACE 5: DRINKWISE BM78 HANDICAP 1800 M
 
RAF ATTACK (NZ) – Over-raced in the middle stages. When questioned regarding RAF ATTACK (NZ) leading in today’s event, Apprentice J. Franklin reported that after being trapped wide in the early stages and being unable to obtain a midfield position with cover, he allowed his mount to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead. After doing so, his mount commenced to over-race and failed to settle, resulting in the gelding being disappointing over the concluding stages.
 
PURE ALPHA (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
SO LONG FAREWELL (NZ) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. When attempting to improve and shift out passing the 500m, was disappointed for a run after BRINDAVAN (IRE) improved to the geldings outside resulting in SO LONG FAREWELL being held up for clear running on entering the home straight. When asked to comment on performance, Jockey M. Rodd reported that after being held up, his mount failed to respond to his riding efforts when placed under pressure in the home straight and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift out to improve passing the 300m.
 
DIANA'S AFFAIR – Obliged to steady passing the winning post to avoid the heels of ROCK HARD LOVE, which shifted in over the concluding stages. Jockey M. Harley the rider of ROCK HARD LOVE was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
 
MASTER COPY (IRE) – Began awkwardly.
 
THEBARBEROFSEVILLE – Commenced to over-race when being restrained approaching the 1600m.
 
 
RACE 6: GIRLS DAY OUT 7 MARCH OPEN HANDICAP 1600 M
 
GLORY DAZE (IRE) – Began awkwardly.
 
THAT'S MOLLY – Slow to begin.
 
GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) – Kicked the rail on several occasions leaving the mounting yard. Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced wide.
 
QUEEN AIR – Began awkwardly and was then hampered shortly after the start.
Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 400m, was obliged to take hold after being carried out by NOBLE CONQUEROR, which had to shift out to avoid the heels of DEMON DARB, which shifted out to improve when insufficiently clear. Jockey R. Stewart the rider of DEMON DARB was charged pursuant to AR 131(a), the particulars being that passing the 400m, heallowed his mount to shift out, resulting in NOBLE CONQUEROR being carried out into the running line of QUEEN AIR, resulting in that horse having to take hold to avoid heels. Jockey R. Stewart’s license to ride in races was suspended for 9 days commencing midnight 8 March 2026 and concluding 17 March 2026. Jockey R. Stewart was advised of his right of appeal.
 
NOBLE CONQUEROR – Shifted out on jumping away. Passing the 600m commenced to over-race when being restrained before being carried wider and having to be steadied approaching the 400m from the heels of DEMON DARB, which shifted out to improve.
 
AGE OF KINGS (IRE) -Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced in restricted room for a short distance whilst weakening passing the 150m.
 
 
RACE 7: BECOME A BRC MEMBER BM78 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
FLYING DESTINY – Blundered on jumping away. Apprentice J. McMurray was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for using his whip above shoulder height.
 
ESTRONDO – Raced wide. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the winning post, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FLYING DESTINY, which shifted out under riding. Apprentice J. McMurray the rider of FLYING DESTINY was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
 
SHIHAB – Slow to begin.
 
FREELAND – Raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Co. Trainer C. Munce was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).  
 
SENESCHAL (IRE) – Began awkwardly and contacted the outside barrier partition.
 
SAVAGERY VIBE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
CHEVAL CHIC – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BREAK FREE – Obliged to alter course leaving the 200m and shifted in.
 
RACE 8: XXXX QTIS JEWEL PRELUDE 3YO QUALITY HANDICAP 1000 M
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice C. Collis and Trainer representative to view the official video footage of the start. After doing so and being comfortably satisfied that CASINO BAY was afforded a fair start, correct weight was declared on the judge’s number.
 
GET READY LASS – Laid in in the early part of the home straight.
 
ISTI STAR – Change of tactics – to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Settled at the rear of the field. When asked to comment on performance, Jockey B. Thompson reported that the filly travelled well, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, failed to run on as expected. He further added that ISTI STAR had a tendency to lay in in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
FORGOTTEN SPIRIT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
STIKTODASCRYPT – Obliged to alter course over the concluding stages and shifted wider.
 
LADIES OCEAN RUN – Shortly after the start had to be steadied when racing in restricted room.
 
DR FARTHING – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
RACE 9: MORETON HIRE OPEN HANDICAP - ***WEIGHTS RAISED 0.5KG*** 1200 M
 
HATCHET – Approaching the 200m, was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.
 
EXOTIQUE MISS – Began awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BATTLEFIELD – Leaving the 800m, became awkwardly placed on heels and as a result, shifted wider on the track.
 
VODKA MARTINI – When asked to comment on performance, Apprentice B. Osmond reported that the gelding had a tendency to over-race in the early stages outside of the leader and failed to respond to when placed under pressure. He further added that in his opinion, VODKA MARTINI failed to run out a strong 1200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
HELL - A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Lost its near hind plate.
 
SHALAA'S MOMENT – Began awkwardly. Passing the 800m, was carried wider on the track for a short distance.
 
HOLY RACKET (NZ) – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
 
RACE 10: LADBROKES MEGA MULTI BM85 HANDICAP 1400 M
 
 
EDITED BY – Passing the 400m was obliged to shift in when held up for clear running.
 
WEIGALL TIGER – Over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 800m, had to be steadied after improving onto heels. Shortly after straightening, had to be steadied after improving onto heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
SLIPPIN' JIMMY – Apprentice C. Sutherland dropped his whip near the 350m.
 
JOHN RAMBO – Passing the winning post, Jockey C. Graham lost the use of her offside iron.
 
HERMANITA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
SHOW SOME DECORUM – Slow to begin.
 
SUPER DUCK – Hampered leaving the 200m when contacted by WEIGALL TIGER which became awkwardly placed on the heels of HERMANITA, which laid in. Apprentice T. Fenlon the rider of HERMANITA was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
