SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
GENERAL
Due to both J. Williams and F. Sandkuhl are not riding at todays meeting. Stewards permitted rider changes as per the summary report and both J. William and F. Sandkuhl were advised they would need medical clearances prior to riding again.
Stewards permitted the following overweights.
Race 1 – FORGOTTEN SPIRIT – M. Rodd +1kg.
Race 8 – SPACE TRACKER (IRE) – J. Guthmann-Chester +0.5kg.
Race 1 - RACECOURSE VILLAGE CLASS 3 PLATE 1000 M
LIM'S SHAVANO – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
MERCIAN – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages and passing the 600m had to be steadied when improving onto heels.
DR FARTHING – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
ANGEL LADDER – Slow into stride. Jockey T Fenlon reported on scales that she felt her mount proved disappointing but futher added being first up today, would derive benefit from todays run. Trainer’s representative D. Maher advised he would report back to stewards if anything may come to light following the mares performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
CABALETTO – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Over raced In the early and middle stages.
ESHA – Raced wide throughout.
BREEZIN' – Slow to begin.
Race 2 - BECOME A BRC MEMBER CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1000 M
ZOUBABY – Began awkwardly and bumped with PRUCIA. Held up during the early stages of the home turn until near the 200m.
TERMAGANT – Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 300m became momentarily awkwardly placed at the heels of BIANCELLI which laid out under pressure.
MOULIN MISS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
BIANCELLI – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
PRUCIA – Began awakwarly and bumped with ZOUBABY. Leaving the 800m had to be steadied when improving onto heels.
Race 3 - LADBROKES BLACKBOOK BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 2400 M
TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) – Slow to begin.
CAPTAIN MAVERICK (IRE) - Connections advised that CAPTAIN MAVERICK (IRE) would attempt to settle in a midfield position. Slow to begin. Commenced to over race approachoing the 800m and was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running.
TRAPALANDA (IRE) – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was found to have a small abrasion inside its mouth and was subsequently cleared to start.
JEMOMA ALPILAGE – Over raced in the early stages.
SAN GABRIEL (NZ) – When asked to comment on the performance on SAN GABRIEL (NZ), jockey T. Marshall explained that the gelding proved disappointing when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote advised he would report back to stewards if anything may come to light following the mares performance.
ARTFUL GIRL - When questioned regarding the improved performance of ARTFUL GIRL, trainer K. Kemp stated that the mare benefited from step up distance and the softer racing surface presented for todays race meeting. He further added that he was pleased with how ARTFUL GIRL finished off the 2200m at Eagle Farm on the 29th August 2026 and as such expected a forward showing today.
BON RIVIERE - Raced wide until near the 1800m.
FLAMING GENESIS – Slow to begin. Raced wide until working forward to the lead near the 1600m.
SUNNY DISPOSITION – When questioned regarding the mare settling further forward in todays event, jockey M. Du Plessis stated he was instructed to ride the mare in a conservative manner with cover but after jumping well rather being trapped wide in the early stages, allowed his mount to stride forward in attempt to obtain cover and when passing the 1600m was able to obtain cover on the rail behind the leader. He further added that his mount over raced in the middle stages but was not disappointed in the finishing efforts of the mare. Trainer D. Bell stated that the mare is better at the rear of the field and consideration will be given to sending the mare for a spell and advised he will report back on the future racing plans in the days subsequent.
Race 4 - THE GIBSON RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 HANDICAP 1200 M
PRINCE CHARGE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
IMMEDIATE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CARBONARA - Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
EXUBERANCE (NZ) – Hampered shortly after jumpng away after being bumped by IMMEDIATE who was carried out slightly by EXCEED PERFECTION. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
SHE OURS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
AUTUMNGIRL - Over raced in middle stages.
RICKYTHESTEAMBOAT – Passing the 100m was obliged to alter course and shift out after improving onto the heels of IMMEDIATE which laid in under pressure. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
Race 5 - FAMILY RACEDAY BOOK NOW NO METRO WINS HANDICAP 1800 M
CAPITAL ASSET – When asked to comment on performance of CAPITAL ASSET in todays event, apprentice M. Philpot explained that the gelding over raced in the early stages and then failed to settle. Passing the 800m made respiratory noises and from that point weakened noticeably. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards advised trainer S. Strazzieri that a veterinary certificate inclusive of a endoscopic exam would be required prior to CAPITAL ASSET accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.
ROCK HARD LOVE – Raced wide until near the 1200m. When asked to comment on performance of ROCK HARD LOVE in todays event, jockey M. Rodd explained that after racing wide in the early stages, in his opinion the gelding may not have run out a strong 1800m and was better suited in his opinion, dropping back In distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
LUTON HOO (NZ) – Began awkwardly having ot be steadied off the heels of CAPITAL ASSET.
DIVINE PURPOSE – When questioned in regards to todays improved performance. Trainer D. Forster explained that the mare appreciated a truly run race and a rise in distance. She further added that she was not surprised with todays performance.
Race 6 - XXXX BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1500 M
DETRIMENTAL – Laid in under ressure in the home straight.
ARCTIC LEGEND – Raced wide throughout.
DON'TCHA THINK – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages. When asked to comment on the performance of DON’TCHA THINK in todays event. Apprentice R. Houston explained that after racing fiercley in the early and middle stages, may have been detrimental to the finishing efforts.
NORTHERN DECREE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
PRECISE STAR – Laid in under ressure in the home straight.
VICTORY COMMAND (NZ) – Slow to begin.
RIEZ SOUVENT – Connections advised that RIEZ SOUVENT would attempt to settle in a midfield position. Slow to begin.
BOLD ARTIC -Raced wide throughout.
ROSA KISS - Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance of ROSA KISS in todays event. Jockey D. Moor could not comment anything of note regarding todays performance. A Post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery. Trainer L. Mayfield-Smith advised it would be their intentions to send ROSA KISS for a spell.
Race 7 - DRINKWISE CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1400 M
FUKUBANA – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to present with mild heat stress.
GORBACHEV - Over raced In the early stages.
LITTLE BEGINNINGS - Slow to begin.
Race 8 - SKY RACING OPEN HANDICAP 1400 M
SPACE TRACKER (IRE) – Over raced in the early stages.
WARBY – Began awkwardly and was hampered shortly after. Over raced in the early stages. Leaving the 600m, improved onto heels and was obliged to be steadied.
BEAU DAZZLER (NZ) - Slow to begin.
Race 9 - MORETON HIRE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1200 M
The start of this event was delayed due to ARMAND becoming fractious and getting the off fore leg over the front of the barrier partition. Underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on ARMAND are to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – 7c win, 10c place – FIRE BOMBER
2nd – 14c place – TIZ WORHTY
3rd – 10c place MARIA CLARA
Trainer C. Munce was advised that ARMAND will require a further barrier certificate prior to accepting for a future race.
MANPOWER – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly, shifted out contacting STORMLAND (NZ). A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both hind legs. Trainer A. Campton advised that the gelding will be sent for a freshen up and would report back on the condition of MANPOWER in the days subsequent.
STORMLAND (NZ) – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MANPOWER.
FIRE BOMBER – Laid in under pressure ein the home straight.
TIZ WORTHY – Became extremely unbalanced on jumping away when PERLE DE CHOCOLAT began awkwardly and shifted out. Leaving the 200m was obliged to alter course and shift out in order to obtain clear running. Jockey R. Maloney reported on scale that his saddle shifted slightly, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainer of the event.
PERLE DE CHOCOLAT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped TIZ WORTHY. Raced wide throughout.
IRANSOFAR – Over raced in the middle stages.
Race 10 - LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI ONE METRO WIN-LAST YEAR HANDICAP 1200 M
CASPERNOVA – Began awkwardly and bumped YOSHINOBU. Leaving the 400m was obliged to alter course to avoid the heels of marshall which shifted out in attempt to improve. Jockey T. Marshall rider of AMUSEANTES was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.
SHE'S EXOTIC – Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
MILLANE – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainers representative C Cavanagh advised that the gelding trialled successfully this week with the addition of a blindfold, which aided in the gelding being able to jump with the field allowing MILLANE to take up a forward position. He further added, though he was surprised to see horse jump so well, it will be the intention of the stable for the gelding to be ridden in a similiar pattern going forward.
NEW JOY – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination as the mare is returning after 12 months and was cleared to start. Began awkward and bumped with CHIEF IN CHARGE. Raced wide throughout.
YOSHINOBU –Began awkwardly and bumped with CASPERNOVA.
CHIEF IN CHARGE – Began awkwardly and bumped with NEW JOY. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and approaching the 200m laid in becoming awkward on the heels of SHE’S EXOTIC.
