Race 1: Gatton View Hotel 3yo Maiden Plate – 1400m
GAIN A LOT – Slow to begin.
ANYOAKEE – Slow to begin and tightened for room shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, trainer S. Iverson agreed that the performance was disappointing however could not offer any tangible explanation and undertook to report to stewards any abnormality that comes to light which may have had a bearing on today’s performance
TRAVEL BUG – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
AGENT ALBERT – Near the 1100m commenced to overrace for a short distance and shifted out, bumping SPANISH GARDEN.
TRAVEL BUG – Hung out rounding the first turn.
DOG DAYS ARE OVER – Had to be steadied near the 300m after improving onto heels.
SPANISH GARDEN - Had to be steadied off the heels of a tiring runner rounding the home turn.
BOB MARK’S BOY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
IT’S IN HIS KISS – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be mildly lame and to have sustained a laceration to the near hind fetlock.
Race 2: Lockyer Produce Maiden H’cap – 860m
LIL’ MISS NAUGHTY – Declared a late scratching at 12.40 pm on veterinary advice after being injured on the float.
On return to scale a protest was lodged by M. O’Brien, rider of the 4th placegetter, against JAGNIWAS being declared 3rd, alleging interference inside the 100m. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards acknowledged that JAGNIWAS raced greenly and shifted in near the 75m, however did not feel that the contact was sufficient to warrant a reversal of placings after taking into account the distance from the finish and the margin of a long head between both horses and therefore the protest was dismissed and Judge’s placings confirmed.
COLD AS ICE – Began awkwardly and was tightened for room shortly after the start.
SO IMPATIENT – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
STARSTYLE – Raced wide throughout.
JAGNIWAS – Raced greenly in the straight.
Race 3: McNeil Farms Class 2 H’cap – 1100m
CYRENIA – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.45 am
HITMAN HARRY – Declared a late scratching at 2.13 pm on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in front. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on HITMAN HARRY were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

Trainer Q. Kearney was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the horse racing again.
FELIX – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer L. Bryant was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse.
BEYOND THE STORM – Raced ungenerously with its head in the air from approaching the 900m until leaving the 800m.
GEEJAY – Inclined to hang out in the middle stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer L. Bryant advised that at the gelding’s previous start at Warwick he was disadvantaged by a wide barrier and felt that with the drop in class today and small field he was confident of a forward showing.
Race 4: Gatton Motel Maiden H’cap – 1100m
HONEY AND ROSES – Slow to begin.
UNIT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TYCOON’S PARTY – Raced wide throughout.
PURE FETISH – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Bled from both nostrils during the event. Connections were advised that the mare will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must complete a 1000m gallop in front of stewards prior to racing again.
STORM ANCHOR – Apprentice S. Payne reported his mount hung out throughout.
CLAIRE DELORES – Apprentice S. Eilbeck reported at scale her mount was inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer G. Cousins advised that following its last start on 21 December 2014 he felt the horse was immature and as a result spelled the mare. He added that today it was having its first race start for 11 months and attributed this to the improved performance.
JADED – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, trainer M. Wilson stated he felt the mare was not suited by having to work hard in the early stages and he also noted that it had previously not performed well on rain affected tracks. He undertook to report to stewards any abnormality that comes to light which may have affected the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 5: Oz Lav Plumbing Class 1 H’cap – 1600m
OUR LITTLE MISSY – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.
CAZNOT – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale that after pulling hard in the early stages his mount did not run out a strong 1600m in today’s event.
KINDA RED – Shifted out when overracing near the 1500m and continued to overrace for a short distance.
SUPERIOR SUN – Overraced in the early stages.
BILBERRY STAR – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 6: Lockyer Produce & Farmers Class 1 H’cap - 1100m
HURRICANE CASSIE – Overraced in the early stages.
ATTITUDINAL MISS – Had to be steadied from the heels of another runner which was overracing near the 800m. Held up and had to be steadied from heels rounding the home turn. Lost its near fore plate in running.
ROYALTOWN ROAD – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
SUITS US – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer L. Paton advised she could provide no tangible explanation other than the gelding was having its first start after a spell.
Race 7: Eagle Boys Pizza Rosewood 0-65 H’cap – 1400m
BLESSINGS – Slow to begin.
CHILLI BEACH – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
PULSAR – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey G. Geran stated he believed the weight in today’s race of 59 kilograms was to the gelding’s detriment. Trainer Mr L. Hatch could offer no tangible explanation and undertook to report to stewards any abnormality that comes to his attention that may have had a bearing on the performance.
