Race 1: Two-Up Anzac Day GCTC QTIS 2yo H’cap – 900m
1st – Jam Toast 2nd – Mr Hennessy 3rd – Sugar Hit 4th – Jerry’s Witness

FALCHION - Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the start of this race when the gelding reared at the start. After taking evidence from Jockey J Morris, Starter Mr S Andrews and viewing the official video, Stewards found that FALCHION reared of its own accord as the start was effected and was therefore declared a starter. As a result of losing significant ground at the start FALCHION took no competitive part in the event. Stable representative for Trainer S Kendrick was advised that FALCHION will require a further Barrier Certificate prior to its next race start. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities at the time of examination.

MULTIFOCAL – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 200m.

VANCOUVER STAR – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer G Heinrich was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before VANCOUVER STAR’s next race start.

TRINCANTO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

BIAGIOTTI – Raced wide throughout.

JAM TOAST – Near the 400m shifted in of its own accord and struck the running rail and became unbalanced.

SUGAR HIT – Steadied from heels rounding the home turn.

STAR STRIDER – Shifted in under pressure leaving the 300m inconveniencing another runner.

MAJOR CONSUL – Inconvenienced leaving the 300m and raced greenly thereafter.

Race 2: Anzac Day Gold Coast Turf Club QTIS 2yo H’cap – 900m
1st – La Dolce Vita 2nd – Whatever Miss 3rd – All the Credit 4th – Old Tex

WICKED SNIPPETS – Delayed start when became fractious and struck its head after being loaded into the barriers. The colt was examined by the veterinary surgeon and subsequently withdrawn by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 11.36am. All monies invested on WICKED SNIPPETS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 11.36am:

4 cents in the dollar for the Win #10 – LA DOLCE VITA
3 cents in the dollar for place of winner #10 – LA DOLCE VITA
5 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #8 – WHATEVER MISS
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5 – ALL THE CREDIT

Trainer M Webb was advised that a warning wooulde be placed on the barrier manners of WICKED SHIPPETS and that a veterinary clearance would be required before it would be permitted to start again.

DEFENSIVE – Tightened at the start.

VEGANER – Shifted out at the start tightening another runner. Steadied approaching the 700m when tightened by another runner which shifted in. Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.

CHASE SAGA – Raced wide for majority of event.

ALL THE CREDIT – Rider accidentally dropped her whip approaching the 300m.

Race 3: Two-Up GCTC Anzac Day Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st – Fortunate Four 2nd – Water Boy 3rd – Win’s Grey Rose 4th – Witches Luck

FINNERO – Hampered at the start.

METEOR BAY – Trainer L Gough was fined the sum of $100 for failing to produce the document of description card for the gelding. Jumped in at the start hampering another runner.

RUMOUR HAZIT - Began awkwardly. Tightened near 1100m.

WIN’S GREY ROSE – Raced wide during the early and middle stages. Approaching 1100m shifted in and tightened another runner.

SELL AND REPENT – Over-raced during the early stages.

FORTUNATE FOUR – Held up rounding home turn. When questioned as to the improved performance stable representative J Wilson stated that its last start when first up from a spell had been mare’s first start for the stable and that they had not been disappointed in that run when it settled towards the rear of the field and finished off the race over a shorter distance.

JERRYVIL – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

SIR RUPERT – Post race vet exam revealed the gelding to have suffered a bleeding attack and will incur a mandatory 3 month ban from racing.

Race 4: Gold Coast Turf Club Anzac Day Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st – Simply Showtime 2nd – Cashinko 3rd – Mr Seduction 4th – Panya

ISIS SPINNER - Slow to begin.

PANYA – Slow to begin. Leaving 200m obliged to shift out across heels to obtain clear running.

TORPEDO – Jumped out at the start.

MR SEDUCTION - Near the 1200m tightened for room by another runner which shifted in.

ISPAHAN – Near 1200 shifted in tightening another runner. Jockey V Venkaya was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

SIMPLY SHOWTIME – Near 1000m when the pace steadied, steadied off heels of runners.

BILLESSE - Raced wide throughout.

TRIPLE WON - Raced wide throughout.

CABANATUAN - Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: MBA Partnership Chartered Accountants Class 1 H’cap – 1100m
1st – Star Lady 2nd – Casinomac 3rd – Burleigh Bullet 4th – Hidden Road

The start was initially delayed when STORMY PLEASURE proved difficult to load. The start was then further delayed when IPPY GIRL became fractious in the barriers, was subsequently removed and cleared by the veterinary surgeon to take its place in the race.

IPPY GIRL – Began awkwardly, lost ground. Near the 600m bumped another runner and became unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examined revealed the mare to be sore in the off fore leg. Trainer L Leitch was advised that she must obtain a veterinary certificate for the mare prior to its next race start.

STAR LADY – Checked at start and lost ground.

THE MONK – Jumped out at the start.

BURLEIGH BULLET – Jumped inwards at the start.

STORMING PLEASURE – Raced wide throughout. Near the 600m bumped another runner.

Race 6: Thiel Partners Accountants Class 1 H’cap – 1100m
1st – Persist 2nd – Bobby be Good 3rd – Faiconi 4th – Saint Hugo

The start of this race was delayed to hold for an interstate event.

SAINT HUGO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

BADGER’S DRIFT – Slow to begin.

FAICONI – Held up for clear running near the 100m and over the concluding stages shifted out under pressure and bumped another runner.

BOBBY BE GOOD – Over concluding stages bumped by another runner.

Race 7: Pert and Associates Ratings Band 0-70 H’cap – 2200m
1st – Freezelightning 2nd – Habsburg 3rd – Supercoach 4th – Warship

SUPERCOACH – Began awkwardly. When the pace steadied, racing out of the front straight on the first occasion at the 1800m got its head up and over-raced.

DUBAI GEE EYE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for majority of event.

FULL HAMMER– Slow to begin.

PATENT PENDING – Raced wide during the early stages.

CONTRAVENTION – Jockey S Eilbeck reported at scale that the horse had a tendency to lay in despite her efforts rounding the 1000m turn and again in the home straight resulting in her being unable to fully test her mount to the line.

HABSBURG – Held up rounding the home turn.

EUGENIE – Jockey A Best accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m.

WARSHIP – Near the 100m bumped and became unbalanced.

Race 8: BOQ Specialist QTIS 3yo Class 3 Plate – 1200m
1st – Sarisara 2nd – Celestial Dragon 3rd – Trubia 4th – Jetasan

HEART OF THUNDER - examined by the veterinary surgeon after working strongly during the preliminary and passed to take its place in the race.

MADGE – Blundered on jumping away.

SUZY’S BOY – Slow to begin. Hampered rounding the home turn when a runner to the inside shifted out.

TRUBIA – Slow to begin. Rounding home turn shifted out and bumped another runner. App. B Appo was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.

TRY ‘N’ CATCH ME – Slow to begin.

JETASAN – Approaching the 1100m steadied away from the heels of another runner which shifted in.

MISHANI INVADA – Shifted in tightening another runner approaching the 1100m. App. A Hearn was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Shifted out and raced greenly in the home straight.

REAL GENE – Raced wide throughout event.

SARISARA – When questioned as to the improved performance, Trainer R Lipp stated that he was not overly disappointed with the filly’s previous start where it raced further back in the field than anticipated. Mr Lipp added that the filly has previously performed best when allowed to travel comfortably just off the speed. His explanation was noted.

Race 9: BOQ Specialist Class 4 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Brigadoon Legend 2nd – Apple Thief 3rd – Pure Whisper 4th – Big Decision

Trainer C Munce was fined the sum of $100 for failing to scratch RILE by the prescribed time.

PIGGY BANK – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

EVOCATIVE – Slow to begin. Bled during the event. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding had bled, it will incur a lifetime ban from racing under the provisions of AR53A(5).

APPLE THIEF – A short distance after the start momentarily tightened by another runner which shifted in.

LEWAULO – A short distance after the start shifted in tightening another runner. Leaving 900m commenced to over-race and shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on. Trainer K Doughty will be advised that she must obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness before the gelding’s next race start.

SPIHRO – Raced wide throughout.

BIG DECISION – When questioned as to the below market performance, App. S Fawke stated that the horse began well and settled in a handy position, however, did not travel on the bit during the middle stages of the event and in the straight finished the race off only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities at the time of examination.

Race 10: My financial Group Health BenchMark 75 H’cap – 1400m
1st – Voodoo Blue Magic 2nd – Tuned In 3rd – Endless Puzzle 4th – Vaz De Torres

Trainer C Munce was fined the sum of $300 for failing to scratch SNIPPETS CAVIAR by the prescribed time. In determining penalty Stewards found that the failure to scratch did cost another horse a start in the race.

VAN DE TORRES - Began awkwardly and lost ground.

GRAWLIX – Slow to begin. Post race vet exam revealed the mare to have bled from one nostril. Trainer R Lipp will be advised that the mare must gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of stewards before racing again.

NICKY NOCKY - Tightened for room and checked at the 900m when crossed by another runner. When questioned as to the disappointing performance App L Dittman stated that the mare travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure upon straightening. App Dittman added that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities at the time of examination. Trainer A Willick indicated that she would review the mare’s immediate racing program and would give consideration to spelling NICKY NOCKY.

KING LUDWIG - Raced wide throughout.

BILLY GOAT - Raced wide throughout.

MR JACKMAN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

ENDLESS PUZZLE – Jockey J Morris pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift in near the 900m when insufficiently clear of NICKY NOCKY which had to be checked. Jockey Morris was suspended from riding in races for a period of 6 meetings to commence midnight 11/04/2015 and to expire midnight 24/04/2015. Over concluding stages checked when tightened for room. Jockey J Morris was fined the sum of $300 for using his whip in a forehand manner on more than the permitted number of occasions prior to the 100m.

BUON AUSPICIO – Near the 200m steadied when tightened for room.

VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Jockey N Day was fined the sum of $200 for using his whip in a forehand manner on more than the permitted number of occasions prior to the 100m, a number of which were in consecutive strides.

TUNED IN - Rider B Ainsworth was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out close to the finishing line resulting in another runner being checked.

Race 11: GMD Chartered Accountants & Advisors Class 2 H’cap – 1400m
1st – Barcelona Bound 2nd – Forelock 3rd – Earnest Desire 4th – Lady Belladonna

RIDEONABIGJETPLANE - Slow to begin. Raced wide for majority of event.

RAIN ALERT - Began awkwardly and lost ground.

FORELOCK - Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

LADY BELLADONNA - Raced wide throughout.

GUMDALE BOY - Raced wide for majority of event.
