SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
3rd of June 2026
 
Doomben Race 4 - Trainer D. Bougoure reported that VOODOO LASS had undergone subsequent blood tests and was being treated.
 
 
4th of June 2026
 
Ipswich Race 6 – Trainer C Anderson subsequently reported that PERRI LASS, which performed below expectations, was found to have severe kissing lesions in the throat.
 
 

GENERAL
 
As Apprentice B. Wheeler was unable to make the allocated weight in Race 2, he was replaced as per the race day summary. Apprentice B. Wheeler was fined $200 pursuant to AR 190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
Trainer A. Campton was fined $200 pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch BRUCKHEIMER by the prescribed time which was a dual acceptor in races 7 and 8.
 

RACE 1:TAB WE'RE ON MAIDEN HANDICAP 1800 M


BE THY NAME – Buffeted between runners on jumping. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, rider C. Bellamy advised that with the addition of blinkers and being up in distance, her instructions were to be positive and race in a more forward position.
 
IRISH HANDCUFFS – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.          

PARADISE AS USUAL – Commenced to over-race and steadied form heels near the 1200m.

FRENCH RIVIERA – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination determined that the mare had bled from both nostrils. Trainer A. Chau was notified that in accordance with AR79(4), FRENCH RIVIERA shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 metres; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
 
IT'S OK – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

SHE CAN SOAR – Over-raced near the 1400m. Held up rounding home turn and in the early part of the home straight before being obliged to steady from the heels of SHARK PARK near the 200m. Disappointed for a run and obliged to shift in to obtain clear running approaching the 100m.  

HURDWICK STONE (NZ)  - Buffeted on jumping.
 
TESSTIFY TRIO – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
THE HOPESTAR – Slow to begin.


RACE 2:GOLD COAST BULLETIN CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1800 M


BOW TIE AFFAIR – Held up rounding the home turn before shifting in near the 300m to obtain clear running.

BIG TECH – Shifted out on jumping and bumped PENDING LIST. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
OUR BRAVE LINI – Momentarily shifted wider near the 1400m after improving onto heels. When asked to comment on the performance, rider B. Lerena reported his mount was unsuited by the modest tempo in the middle section, adding that whilst not disappointed with the filly’s performance, he thought it raced dour to the line.

WEDDING VOW – Near the 300m, was buffeted between NOTABADJACKUP (D. Peisley) and CAPTAIN INSANO when tiring and was inconvenienced. Rider D. Peisley was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.

CAPTAIN INSANO – Bumped leaving the 300m when WEDDING VOW was carried out slightly by NOTABADJACKUP which shifted out.
 
JOTOPELI – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 50m, when tiring, steadied from the heels of NOTABADJACKUP which shifted in. Laid in approaching the finishing line.
 
MONTEVECCHIO – Slow to begin. Near the 1400m, when the pace slackened, shifted wider.  

MORE YOU THINK – Near the 1400m, when the pace slackened, shifted wider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. The training partnership of D. & M. Scanes was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for poor performance.
 
PENDING LIST – Bumped at the start. Approaching the finishing line, improved onto the heels of NOTABADJACKUP which shifted out.


RACE 3:RAW METAL CORP BM78 HANDICAP 2226 M

 
WATERMELON – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Held up in the early part of the home straight before shifting in near the 250m to obtain clear running.

FARWEST – Hampered on jumping. Rounding the home turn, was awkwardly placed on the heels of GYPSY WISH which shifted out.
 
GYPSY WISH – Shifted in on jumping and hampered FARWEST. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rider T. Marshall reported that when placed under pressure rounding the home turn, his mount shifted out.
 
PAPAL MISS - Began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn, obliged to steady from the heels of FARWEST which was carried out by GYPSY WISH.
 
SMELTER (IRE) – Change of tactics – To settle midfield if circumstances permit. Over-raced in the early stages when the rider attempted to settle behind the leaders before allowing his mount to stride forward and take the lead near the 1600m. When over-racing near the 2000m, steadied from the heels of LET'S DO IT AGAIN which shifted in. Apprentice B. Youngberry was advised to exercise greater care.


RACE 4:NINE GOLD COAST NEWS CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1000 M

 
SCUD - Held up in the early part of the home straight until approaching the 100m.
 
MUSCHIALLI – Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
JOY A PLENTY – Blundered on jumping.         
 
FIND YOUR OWN – Fractious in the barriers. Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Lost its near-hind plate. Trainer S. Morrisey was advised FIND YOUR OWN would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
SISTINE EXPLORER – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.


RACE 5:LEDA CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 M

 
VORKUTA – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Bumped near the 250m and became unbalanced.

SAPPHIRE REIGN – Leaving the 250m, when placed under pressure and tiring, was awkwardly placed between LI'L REX, which was carried out by HEY DAISY when that runner shifted out to improve, and VORKUTA (B. Lerena) which shifted in under riding. Rider B. Lerena was advised to exercise greater care and to stop and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.  

LUCKY MAN - Shortly after the start, raced in restricted room and was eased when running between SAPPHIRE REIGN and HEY DAISY. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
HIT – Held up rounding the home turn until the 200m.
 
LI'L REX – Began awkwardly. Bumped and carried wider leaving the 250m when HEY DAISY (D. Peisley) shifted out to improve, becoming awkwardly placed on that runner’s heels passing the 200m. Rider D. Peisley was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.  


RACE 6:QLDS FINEST RUM - THE BUNDABERG RUM QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD BM65 HANDICAP 1000 M


METAL MAN – Began moderately. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn before shifting wider to obtain clear running.

SWITCH THE STARS – Shifted in on jumping and bumped DIALIDAE. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.

PYROLYSIS – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

CHARLIE TANGO – Change of tactics – to race further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
HELLO PUNTERS – Fractious in the barriers.  

DIALIDAE – Bumped at the start. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 7:XXXX CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400 M

 
HEAVENLY IMPACT – Near the 250m raced in restricted room and was steadied when MISTRESSOFILLUSION laid out and EL PASO shifted in. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, apprentice B. Youngberry stated that her instructions were to allow the horse to settle back in the field and added that the trainer didn’t want the gelding to be exposed early to a three-wide run. When asked whether there was an option to improve with a wide run from the 600m, apprentice Youngberry advised she was conscious of her instructions not to be exposed to a wide run too early and noted that in that particular part of the race, the tempo had lifted as opposed to the slow tempo set early. Apprentice Youngberry further added that when placed under pressure in the home straight, the gelding felt one-paced. Trainer M. Wilson confirmed the instructions and added it is now the intention to send the gelding for a spell. Stewards noted the comments. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.  

MISTRESSOFILLUSION (IRE) – Bumped at the start.          

MORE LOVE - Shifted in on jumping and bumped MISTRESSOFILLUSION.
 
PIRATE – Shifted in on jumping and hampered CHICAGO KING.
 
VERMEER – Began awkwardly.
 
CHICAGO KING – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after the start. Over-raced near the 1200m when the pace slackened.          
 
KEIKO SAY – Shifted out on jumping.   


RACE 8:BMD GROUP BM65 HANDICAP 1200 M

 
TARPS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

BRUCKHEIMER – Began awkwardly and bumped ELECTRIC ARROW.

GALEKA – Began awkwardly. Near the 150m, improved onto the heels of HOOT 'N' HOLLER and shifted out, becoming awkwardly placed on heels of the tiring TARPS and was unable to be tested fully to the line.

TOOLATEMATE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 100m, improved onto the heels of GALEKA (Apprentice B. Youngberry) and was carried out before being steadied. Apprentice Youngberry was advised to exercise greater care.
 
NATIONAL INTEREST – Began awkwardly.    
 
HOOT 'N' HOLLER – Began awkwardly.          

ELECTRIC ARROW – Began awkwardly and bumped BRUCKHEIMER.
 
SPEED MAP - Shifted in on jumping.
