RACE 1:WELCOME ALFIE LANGER BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 850 METRES
MAMARAGAN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
BRAIDWOOD PRINCE – Raced wide throughout.
WISE CHOICE – When asked to comment on the performance of WISE CHOICE in today’s event, apprentice V. Soulsby stated that she felt the mare didn’t appreciate the sand kick back but improved in the home straight when she could obtain a run, free of the sand kick back.
JUDY JETSON – Rider N. Thomas reported that he felt JUDY JETSON to have shied away from a shadow on the track over the concluding stages.
COSMIC PROPORTIONS – Slow to begin. Apprentice H. Saunders reported that in her opinion, COSMIC PROPORTIONS failed to handle today’s sand track conditions.
HARCASION – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in when weakening in the home straight.
RACE 2: COOLOOLA PUMP & IRRIGATION - LOCAL WATER EXPERTS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP - 1030

Prior to the start of this event, DUBIOUS SIX got both fore legs over the barrier partition and into the stall of NINE CIGARS, as a result, DUBIOUS SIX and NINE CIGARS underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. NINE CIGARS was cleared to start, however DUBIOUS SIX was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:10pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on DUBIOUS SIX are to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – 16c win, 14c place
2nd – 14c place
3rd – 14c place
Trainer D Short was advised a warning would be placed on DUBIOUS SIX for today’s barrier manners.
DONEGAL BAY – Trainer M. Goodwin was reprimanded pursuant to AR65(1) for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identification Card for DONEGAL BAY. Slow to begin.
NINE CIGARS – Anticipated the start and as a consequence made contact with the front of the barriers as the start was affected.
COSTA CATORI Resaddled on arrival to the barriers. Raced wide throughout.
Following the running of this race, apprentice K. Barker was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Service and was cleared to fulfill her remaining riding engagements.
RACE 3: 2:55PM SUPPORT LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESSES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1170 METRES
HOT CONQUEST – Rider P. Hamblin reported that he felt HOT CONQUEST did not appreciate today’s sand track conditions.
MIGHT IS RIGHT – Blundered as the start was affected and lost ground.
SET FOR LIFE – Blundered as the start was affected.
POWER MAIDEN – Trainer B Mair was advised a warning would be placed on POWER MAIDEN for being difficult to load.
RACE 4: 3:35PM BECOME A GTC MEMBER BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP - 1170 METRES
DRANG A THANG – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PRIMARY WITNESS – Slow to begin.
RACE 5: COOLOOLA PUMP & IRRIGATION 100 CLUB CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 1470 METRES
SHUBMAN – Bumped at the start with MEKANIC which began awkwardly and shifted in.
BUGDEN – Slow to begin.
DASHING HOPE – Weakened from near the 600m and was uncompetitive to the finish and was beaten a significant distance. Rider N. Thomas reported that he felt the mare was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T Thomas was advised DASHING HOPE would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards for today’s poor performance and being uncompetitive prior to accepting for a future race.
BRAIDWOOD QUEEN – Raced wide throughout.
MEKANIC – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SHUBMAN. Raced wide throughout.
