Following the running of this event Apprentice B Swaffer who rode 4th placegetter SWEET ASA ROSE made a request to Stewards to view the patrol footage of the race in the home straight in order to determine whether or not to lodge a protest against 2nd placegetter ROUND THE CORNER which had shifted in near the 150 metres hampering the running of SWEET ASA ROSE. After viewing the footage Apprentice Swaffer elected not to proceed and Stewards declared Correct Weight on the Judge’s numbers. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards issued Jockey K Rockett with a reprimand for careless riding under the provisions of AR 137(a) for allowing his mount ROUND THE CORNER to shift in under pressure when insufficiently clear of SWEET ASA ROSE ridden by Apprentice B Swaffer near the 150 metres resulting in SWEET ASA ROSE being hampered and held up for clear running.
