CLASSIC BURLESQUE – Slow to begin.
SHE’S WANTED – Slow to begin.
HATZ SON – Rounding the first turn near the 800m took charge of its rider and ran very wide on the track. Trainer Ms S Hoffman was told that prior to racing again the gelding would have to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
TERRE MIA – Raced greenly throughout.
HELOW TUCKER – Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.
BOOK A FLIGHT – When questioned in relation to the improved performance trainer Ms L Ashford attributed the improvement to the addition of pacifiers and a tongue tie to the geldings approved gear.
Race 2: Lindsay Aust/Vandeleur Todd/LMB Farms Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000 metres:

RIKKI DYNAMO – Crowded at the start then raced wide throughout.
Race 4: Lamanna Group Benchmark 65 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – DANE WILL DO 2nd – SETTLERS WAY 3rd – ROAD FOX 4th – ACCIDENTAL
TIERES ROCK – Slow to begin.
Apprentice N Nelson (MASTER DANNY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that passing the 1100m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ACCIDENTAL and MY KING OATH which both had to be checked and lost their rightful running. Apprentice N Nelson’s permit to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 NQ meetings to commence at midnight tonight and to expire at midnight Saturday 29th August 2015. In assessing penalty Stewards took into her good record in relation to the rule.
SETTLERS WAY – Approaching the home turn had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.
MASTER DANNY - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on.
THE BEST – On return to scale jockey G Watson reported that in his opinion the tongue control bit had shifted and he attributed this to the gelding being inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
Race 5: JE Tipper/Costa Bananas/Orora Fibre Packaging Benchmark 55 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – SILVER STAR 2nd – CASHED UP BULLY 3rd – CRAIGLEA FOCUS 4th – POPULAR BELIEF
When jockey M Morris was indisposed due to personal reasons Stewards permitted jockey K Stone to be substituted as the rider of SILVER STAR.
The declaration of correct weight was delayed when connections of RACING IN THE WIND made application to have the gelding declared a non-runner on the grounds it was denied a fair start when the gates occupied by RACING IN THE WIND were slow to open. After taking evidence from all parties and after viewing the limited vision available Stewards were unable to completely ascertain that the gates were slow to begin and as such denied the application and declared correct weight. Apprentice M Kai however did report that the saddle slipped back on jumping away which placed him at a distinct disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
BEG PARDON – Was fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin.
MALIBU ROSE – Slow to begin.
TATONE – Slow to begin.
CRAIGLEA FOCUS – Rounding the first turn near the 1200m got its head when over racing then shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with the hindquarter of another runner.
FRUMBOLI – Rounding the first turn near the 1200m was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became unbalanced then raced wide with no cover throughout.
CASHED UP BULLY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.
Race 6: Oakville Produce Open Cup Handicap 1800 metres:
1st – BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND 2nd – GLADIUS 3rd – TETE DE SEAU 4th – MANZANITA
THE PRINCIPAL – Was slow to begin then crowded shortly after.
