SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Trainer representative T. Pollard advised Stewards of the following horse’s post-race recovery.
 
Race 1: 2. VICTORY WIN – Recovered well and will continue with the current preparation.
 
Race 4: 2. AL MUBHIR - Recovered well. Has been sent for a spell.
 
Race 4: 9. SIBAAQ – Recovered well and will continue with the current preparation.
 
Race 9. 1.FIRM AGREEMENT – Recovered well and will continue with the current preparation.
 
Race 9: 12. MAZIS – Recovered well and will experiment with gear in gallop later this week.
 

GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweight-

Race 5: Jockey R. Maloney +0.5kg (56.5kg)
 
Trainer A. Campton was fined $200 under LR67(1) for the late declaration of C. Sutherland as the rider of KRAKARIB in Race 3.


Race 1: SCHWEPPES QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP   1200 M

LOCKYER – Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding the performance of LOCKYER, Jockey R. Maloney reported that the colt may not have appreciated todays track conditions and proved disappointing.
 
PROVOKER – Held up between the 600m until the home turn and elected to alter course in the early part of the home straight to obtain clear running approaching the 200m. When questioned regarding the performance of PROVOKER, Jockey N. Beriman stated that the colt settled further back than anticipated and in her opinion did not appreciate todays track conditions and may benefit from a step up in distance.
 
BRUTAL GLORY – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
FUNKY ZEBRA – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced greenly approaching the 200m and shifted in before being corrected.
 
EGYPTIAN GODDESS – Very slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
ZOU ZOU JENNIKA – Began awkwardly, contacting the inside barrier partition and had its hindquarters turned out momentarily and as a result lost ground.
 
SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Raced greenly in the home straight. Near the 100m Jockey A. Mallyon the rider of SHEMAKESMENERVOUS was struck on his left arm by the whip of Jockey M. Rodd when racing in close proximity.
 
ALL TOO FOXY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.

Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN MAIDEN HANDICAP         1200 M

READY FOR THE TRIP – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Near the 300m, had to be checked to avoid the heels of WITHOUT RHYME which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice J. Williams the rider of WITHOUT RHYME in the presence of riding mentor P. Robel was charged under AR 131(a) for careless riding, the particulars being that approaching the 300m, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of READY FOR THE TRIP (A. Jones,) obliging its rider to check her mount to avoid heels and lose its rightful running. Apprentice J. Williams license to ride in races was suspended for 14 days commencing midnight the 30/05/25 until midnight 13/06/25.
 
STABILIZER – Jockey R. Stewart reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
WITHOUT RHYME – Bumped with MISS WANTED shortly after the start. Near the 1000m, momentarily raced in restricted room. Held up approaching the home turn before shifting in near the 300m to secure clear running. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CAMBRIDGE BAY – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when READY FOR THE TRIP shifted in abruptly and lost ground.
 
PRAISE YOU – Raced wide.
 
SKORPIOS ISLE – Momentarily raced in restricted room leaving the 1000m.
 
HAPPY WINS - Jockey A. Mallyon reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay out when placed under pressure in the home straight, placing him at a disadvantage. Bumped with MISS WANTED shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MISS WANTED – Bumped with HAPPY WINS shortly after the start.
 
ROSEBERY TERRACE – Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 3: TAB BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP   1100 M
 
FOURTH SPARGO underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was found to be bilaterally lame to in the forelegs and subsequently was declared a late scratching at 1:42pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on FOURTH SPARGO be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st KRAKARIB 3c win, 7c place
2nd SIR CARTER 7c place
3rd MILTON ROAD (NZ) 6c place
 
Trainer L. Freedman was advised that FOURTH SPARGO would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
KRAKARIB – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the improved performance of KRAKARIB, Trainer A. Campton commented that the gelding races best when able to lead as opposed to its most recent start, where it was obliged to race wide. He further added that in his opinion KRAKARIB was underrepresented in market and he had expected a more forward showing today.
 
SIR CARTER – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAKE IT SO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
BUNDELLA – Began awkwardly and bumped BLONDE ON BLONDE.
 
BLONDE ON BLONDE – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
CRESSBROOK – Over-raced in the early stages. Approaching the finishing line, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
CRACKER ESSGEE – Approaching the 900m, when racing ungenerously was obliged to steady. Commenced to tire leaving the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance of CRACKER ESSGEE, Apprentice C. Vitler could off no off no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 4: SACRED ELIXIR QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP         1350 M

NAVY PILOT – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted in over the concluding stages.
 
CALL DA VINCI – Held up approaching the home turn. Shifted in over the concluding stages.
 
NORTH POLE – Raced in restricted room and was carried in over the concluding stages.
 
THE BEAR - Hampered approaching the 200m when NORTH POLE shifted out.
 
BRAZEN SAILOR – Near the 200m, when racing greenly, shifted out and bumped BRAVE JET.
 
BRAVE JET – Near the 200m, was bumped when BRAZEN SAILOR shifted out when racing greenly.
 
YOUMEANDDUPRE - Held up approaching the home turn and continued to be held up until approaching the 200m. Raced in restricted room shortly after the finishing line. Jockeys A. Jones, J. Lloyd and R. Maloney were all reminded of their obligations to stop and straighten their mounts in similar circumstances.
 
Race 5: BARRIER REEF POOLS THE PROVOCATIVE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP         2180 M

FREDDIE TIME (NZ) – Jockey C. Sutherland reported at scale that in his opinion FREDDIE TIME (NZ) may be better suited to bigger tracks. Obliged to steady shortly after the start when hampered by CHERRY LIPS. Jockey G. Cartwright the rider of CHERRY LIPS was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ECLAIR ENCORE (JPN) – Jockey A. Mallyon reported at scale that after beginning only fairly, settled further back than anticipated. Bumped with EXISTENTIAL BOB (NZ) shortly after the start.
 
EXISTENTIAL BOB (NZ) – Bumped with ECLAIR ENCORE (JPN) shortly after the start.
 
CHERRY LIPS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GOOD PHILLY – Approaching the 100m, disappointed for a run between LOVEY DOVEY and ECLAIR ENCORE (JPN) and was obliged to shift wider to obtain clear running.
 
JUDGE JACK – Jockey R. Stewart reported at scale that his mount appeared to make a respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
WITTELSBACH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CHAMPAGNE ROUGE – Raced three wide from the 1000m.

Race 6: GORDON'S GIN BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP         1200 M

SKYWOLF – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the home turn and in the early part of the home straight, before being disappointed for a run near the 100m between THELWELL, which shifted out slightly and TARA JASMINE, which shifted in marginally.
HOLLYWOOD NORTH – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
KINGSTON'S HERE – Race wide.
 
ROLL UP – When asked to comment on the performance of ROLL UP, Trainer K. Schweida commented that the gelding settled further back than anticipated and may not have appreciated todays track conditions. He further added that in his opinion, ROLL UP would derive fitness benefit from today’s race.
 
KOOLED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MUSCHIALLI – Raced wide.
 
TARA JASMINE – Raced wide.
 
THELWELL – Jockey J. Stanley reported at scale that his mount laid in over the concluding stages, placing him at a disadvantage. Raced wide. Near the 100m laid out marginally before laying in over the concluding stages.
 
PIVOTAL LAD – Slow to begin. Near the 900m, momentarily raced in restricted room and shortly thereafter was obliged to steady from heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
Race 7: TEMPUS TWO CLASS 2 HANDICAP         1200 M

PRE EMINENCE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
GIN A TONIC – Began awkwardly, causing its rider to become unbalanced, and shifted out.
 
SIMPLY EXCELS – Raced wide early before obtaining a position outside the lead passing the 800m.
 
SULTRY SIREN – Hampered on jumping and lost ground.
 
COLLEANO – Jockey N. Beriman reported at scale that in her opinion her mount did not appreciate today’s track conditions.
 
CELESTIAL BLAZE – Held up approaching the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
MALARINA – Shortly after the start, was hampered when awkwardly placed at the heels of GIN A TONIC, which shifted out after becoming unbalanced.
 
 
Race 8: TAB IPSWICH CUP TICKETS ON SALE CLASS 1 HANDICAP  1690 M

ARTZINO (NZ) – Raced keenly early. Raced wide.
 
TREVENSON – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on the performance of TREVENSON, Jockey P. Hamblin could offer no explanation for the geldings’ poor performance.
 
CHOSEN LEGEND – Bumped and became unbalanced on jumping. Bumped with TECHNA rounding the home turn when attempting to shift out to obtain clear running.
 
HARTMAN – Raced wide.
 
MINGARDOS (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages. When approaching the 1200m, was obliged to steady from heels and shift wider, before allowing his mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 800m.
 
GUARDED OPTIMIST (NZ) – Apprentice C. Sutherland reported at scale that his mount proved difficult to settle, over raced and didn’t appreciate racing amongst other runners. Bumped shortly after the start. Proved very difficult to settle in the early stages. Approaching the home turn, improved onto heels and shifted out slightly, bumping with STRIKE THE HEART.
 
DEEP DAWN – Slow to begin and settled in a rearward position.
 
STRIKE THE HEART – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Approaching the home turn was bumped and became unbalanced when GUARDED OPTIMIST (NZ) shifted out after improving onto heels and as a result STRIKE THE HEART lost ground.
 
TECHNA – Unruly behind the barriers. Trainer C. Munce was advised that a warning would now be placed on the filly in relation to its manners behind the barriers. Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail. Approaching the 1300m, over-raced when awkwardly placed on heels when the pace slackened. Rounding the home turn, Jockey A. Thompson was strongly advised to ensure that his riding style does not vary when attempting to ride competitively. Bumped near the 400m by CHOSEN LEGEND. Near the 250m, slightly hampered when CHOSEN LEGEND shifted out. Trainer C. Munce advised that it was his likely intention that the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
TARADALE – Raced wide.
 
COOK ISLAND GIRL – Jockey N. Beriman reported at scale, that it was not her intention to lead however after beginning well, elected to allow her mount to stride forward and settle in a leading position.
 
ROTATE – Began awkwardly.
