SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Sunshine Coast 05/07/25
 
Race 8: Stewards concluded an inquiry into an incident that occurred near the 200m. Apprentice E. Lang in the presence of Trainer T. Gollan pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding in that as the rider of THE RIGHT WAY she did ride in a careless manner and allowed her mount to shift out under heavy riding, dictating WARP SPEED out into the rightful running of HEZASHOCKA causing that horse to be tightened for room to the inside of FLASH AHH, which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Apprentice E. Lang’s license to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, commencing midnight the 13th of July and concluding midnight the 21st  of July. Apprentice E. Lang was advised of her right of appeal.

Race 7: COUNT THE DOUGH – Trainer M. Hoysted reported that the filly underwent a further examination by the stable veterinarian on returning to the stables which revealed no significant findings. Mr Hoysted reported that COUNT THE DOUGH has since been sent for a spell.
 
Race 1: IPSWICH PARTY HIRE MAIDEN PLATE         1690 M
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 mins owing to SKORPIOS ISLE being contacted by CHASING ELEANOR, harmlessly dislodging Apprentice C. Sutherland enroute to the barriers. CHASING ELEANOR underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. SKORPIOS ISLE, when attempting to be resaddle behind the barriers, became fractious and was unable to be resaddled. As a result, SKORPIOS ISLE was declared a late scratching at 1:08pm. Trainer L. Gough was advised that a warning would be placed on gelding in relation to its pre-race manners.

CAESAR CAKE – Slow to begin.

CHASING ELEANOR – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
MANHATTANHENGE - Bumped at the start. Jockey J. Murphy reported that his mount failed to travel comfortably at any stage during the event. He further added that he had concerns with the filly’s action in the home straight and as a result eased his mount down from the 200m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
REVEILLON – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that REVEILLON would attempt to settle more forward. Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly and bumped MANHATTANHENGE. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor reported at scale that his mount was one paced in its finishing efforts and was disappointing.
 
WIMOWEH – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure near the 250m.
 
After the running of this event, Apprentice B. Wheeler reported that he was experiencing some minor back discomfort, however was comfortable to fulfil his riding engagements.

Race 2: VINCE INSURANCE CLASS 1 PLATE         1100 M

DECRYPT – Slow to begin.
 
ROMAN HUSSLER – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
BETTER BE READY – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
CASSIERE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped DEEP VEGAS. Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DEEP VEGAS – Began awkwardly and bumped CASSIERE (NZ). Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
Race 3: THE SHED COMPANY BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 800M

MAGURO – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
 
TIKKA READY – Began awkwardly.
 
ENUFF PILLS – Raced wide.
 
FEMME FATALE – Raced in restricted room in the early stages when RAN NA LADY laid in. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to its right hindleg.
 
RAN NA LADY – Had to be steadied from the heels of MAGURO near the 500m.
 
GYPSY TRICKS (NZ) - Raced in restricted room in the early stages when RAN NA LADY laid in. Near the 100m, was obliged to momentarily steady from the heels of ENUFF PILLS, which shifted in. Jockey A. Thompson the rider of ENUFF PILLS was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
 
DRUMS OF WAR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
After the running of this event, Apprentice C. Sutherland reported that he was experiencing some minor right hip discomfort, however, was comfortable to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.
 
Race 4: PRECINCT URBAN PLANNING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP         1100 M

PALEFACE RINGO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
KING BOOM – Near the 900m, had to be steadied from the heels of CLICK CLICK BOOM which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey J. Stanley the rider of CLICK CLICK BOOM was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding. Apprentice C. Vitler reported at scale that his mount raced flat throughout and in his opinion had come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the thumps and be lame in its near foreleg. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again. Trainer T. Gollan advised Stewards that KING BOOM would now be sent for a spell.
 
SIX MORE SONGS – Began awkwardly and bumped with CLICK CLICK BOOM shortly after the start. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
SUJEED – Began awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance of SUJEED, Jockey K. Wilson- Taylor reported that the gelding did not appreciate today’s soft track conditions and may appreciate a step up in distance.
 
CLICK CLICK BOOM – Began awkwardly and bumped SIX MORE SONGS shortly after the start. Hung out approaching and rounding the home turn. Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount commenced to hang out from the 500m until the conclusion of the event, resulting in him having some difficulty fully testing the gelding to the finishing line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery.
 
WANTSOMEMOREOFIT – Shifted in when racing greenly approaching the 200m. Near the 150m, put in an awkward stride and became unbalanced. Improved onto heels near the 50m and was unable to be fully tested for the remainder of the event. Apprentice B. Wheeler reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
 
Race 5: TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350 M

READY FOR THE TRIP – Contacted the rail leaving the mounting yard. Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and bumped with LAW MARSHAL. Severely inconvenienced and held up from the 600m until the 400m by the weakening DUCK OUT.
 
LAW MARSHAL – Began awkwardly and bumped with READY FOR THE TRIP. Hampered shortly after the start.
 
VALENCIA ROC (NZ) – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that VALENCIA ROCK would attempt to be ridden more forward. Ridden accordingly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
IHAVESEENTHELIGHT – Laid in under pressure approaching the winning post.
 
PAPAL WARS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
SATURDAYS GIRL – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
BRUTAL SUE – Began awkwardly. Became awkwardly placed at heels near the 500m.
 
MY MISCHKA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inconvenienced near the 400m.
 
DUCK OUT – Commenced to give ground from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer M. Hemmings was advised that a metropolitan bar would be placed on the mare and that DUCK OUT would be required to officially trial prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: THE IPSWICH TRIBUNE CLASS 3 PLATE         1690 M

TAMBOURINE MAN – Slow to begin.
 
EL PENSADOR – Shifted in under pressure near the 100m.
 
HEMAN - Hampered shortly after the start. Near the 700m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of TAMBOURINE MAN. Jockey D. Thornton reported that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer representative N. Boyle stated that HEMAN may not have appreciated the soft track conditions today and would report back to Stewards on the condition of the gelding in the subsequent days.
 
LARUSSO – Improved onto heels near the 700m and had to be steadied.
 
Race 7: GIBSON ARCHITECTS BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         1100 M

REJOICED – Near the 900m, commenced to hang in in despite the efforts of its rider resulting in inside runners being interfered with to varying degrees. Laid in in the early stages of the home straight. Trainer P. Webster was advised that REJOICED would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
SIMBU - Near the 900m, severely crowded for room, contacted the running rail and had to be checked from the heels of REMLAPS ANGEL, which was taken in by THE LUCKY ALIEN, which was taken in by REJOICED. Stewards inquired into the incident and after taking evidence from the relevant riders, and upon reviewing the available vision, Stewards could not be satisfied that any one rider rode in a careless manner and attributed the cause of the incident to the racing manners of REJOICED. Over-raced approaching the 700m. Near the 700m improved onto the heels of THE LUCKY ALIEN, shifted out and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
THE LUCKY ALIEN – Began awkwardly. Crowded for room and was taken inwards by REJOICED near the 900m. Over-raced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BRENTWOOD – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 900m, made contact with the inside rail. Apprentice J. Hampson reported at scale that in her opinion the gelding resented the cross over noseband. Trainer D. Morgan advised stewards that he would remove the cross over noseband from the gelding’s advertised gear prior to its next start.
 
REMLAPS ANGEL – Crowded for room and was taken inwards by REJOICED near the 900m. Had difficulty securing clear running for the majority of the home straight.
