GENERAL
 
Trainer S. McLean was fined $200 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor BLINKED by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer B. Healey was fined $200 pursuant to LR68(1) for failing to scratch LUTON HOO by the prescribed time. 

 
RACE 1:TAB QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1350 Metres

ATLANTIC COAST – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ENGLISH CONQUEROR – Passing the 1000m, whist over racing, was steadied from the heels of HURKLE DURKLE (B. Youngberry) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 1000m, she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of ENGLISH CONQUEROR (M. Murphy), which was obliged to be steadied from the heels of HURKLE DURKLE for a number of strides. Apprentice Youngberry’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing at midnight 7th June 2026 and concluding at midnight 16th June 2026. When determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration the racing manners of ENGLISH CONQUEROR, Apprentice Youngberry’s record in relation to this rule, status of an apprentice and her guilty plea. Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
FUNDORA – Near the 900m, when the pace of the race slackened, steadied from heels. Laid in under pressure rounding the home turn. Near the 200m, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
LOS ALAMITOS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MILDURA LAD – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
OCTOBER MANIFESTO – Began awkwardly. Near the 900m, when the pace of the race slackened, steadied from heels. Near the 250m, obliged to alter course and shift out to obtain clear running.
 
ESCAPE BEACH – Near the 900m, when the pace of the race slackened, steadied from heels. Held up for clear running entering the home straight. Near the 200m, when racing in restricted room, steadied from the heels of ENGLISH CONQUEROR (M. Murphy) which shifted in under pressure. Jockey M. Murphy was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
HURKLE DURKLE – Apprentice B. Youngberry reported her mount may not have handled the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
URBAN PRINCESS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Doomben on 27/5/26 and was cleared to start. 


RACE 2: GREAT NORTHERN MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres

MYSTICAL GEM – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

VIDEO VIXEN – Began awkwardly. Near the 400m, shifted out to improve and bumped EDGE OF INFINITY.
 
EDGE OF INFINITY – Slow to begin. Raced keenly for a short distance near the 1000m. Bumped and taken wider by VIDEO VIXEN near the 400m. Laid out rounding the home turn. Jockey C. Bennett could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

FLYING AKEED – Began awkwardly.
 
STRENUOUS – Began awkwardly.
 
SHALAA STRIKE – Began awkwardly. Near the 700m, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.


RACE 3: POCO VINO QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
PRESTIGE GUNDY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL TOO FOXY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice B. Osmond advised that being caught wide throughout was detrimental to his mounts finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BLINKED – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
NOT SO DUBIOUS – Knuckled on jumping. Tightened for room to the inside of URBAN LAD (B. Thornton) shortly after the start and lost ground. Jockey B. Thornton was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.


RACE 4: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
SEA WARNING – Began awkwardly.
 
VENOM RUSH – Held up from the 600m and was unable to obtain clear running until shifting wider near the 100m. Laid in over the concluding stages.

WARRIOR BAE – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced and taken wider near the 600m.
 
ZOUSLAYER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Approaching the 600m, improved onto heels and had to be checked.
 
WORTHY – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.          
 
PICUPSTIXX – Raced wide throughout.
 
MEANIE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 5: MEALS ON WHEELS OPEN HANDICAP 1350 Metres

OUR MAGNUS – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.  
 
DON'T STOP – Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground.
 
DEEP RESPECT – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 100m.

REJOICED – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Jockey K. Zechner could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DIANA'S AFFAIR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 6: CHINA GEMMELL MEMORIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1700 Metres

JEMOMA ALPILAGE – Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 900m. 
 
CANSORT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Near the 250m, obliged to alter course when disappointed for a run.
 
SINATRA – Near the 200m, whilst weakening was bumped. Jockey N. Heywood reported his mount didn’t travel comfortably throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
SOUTHOFTHEBORDER – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels near the 1000m and was steadied.
 
HIDEOUT – Raced greenly rounding the home turn. Jockey C. Bennett reported his mount may not have handled the heavy track conditions.
 
PRESTIGE ICE – Began awkwardly. Jockey D. Boche was reminded of his obligations to not use his whip forward of the horse’s shoulder.
 
READY TO DRINK – Momentarily held up for clear running near the 400m.
 
WEXFORD MISS (IRE) – Raced wide throughout.

HEROIC BEACH – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until shifting out approaching the 200m and bumping with SINATRA. Laid out approaching the 100m obliging its rider to stop and straighten.

CAFE MOCHA – Slow to begin.


RACE 7: GORDON'S GIN BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 2200 Metres

PULVERISER – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
MALECON – Laid in passing the 400m.
 
PICKO ROCKS – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 1000m.
 
TRUMP CARD (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Cast its near-hind plate.
 
FARWEST – Began awkwardly and bumped. Approaching the 1700m, commenced to race keenly and shifted wider.
 
KALKANLI – Leaving the 1900m, raced keenly whilst being restrained.
 
SACRED BULL (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room passing the 400m to the inside of MALECON, which laid in. 

SUNNY DISPOSITION – Raced keenly in the early stages. Jockey D. Boche reported his mount is better suited when racing with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CRIMSON SPIRIT – Shifted out on jumping and bumped FARWEST. Raced keenly in the early stages.


RACE 8: CHRIS WALLACE 25 YEARS SERVICE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1350 Metres

FORT WILLIAM – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Approaching the 200m, steadied when disappointed for a run and was held up until leaving the 150m.
 
GAMBINO – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 600m, improved onto heels and shifted out.
 
PRESSALONG – Slow to begin.
 
SOUTHBY – Slow to begin. Jockey B. Thornton reported his mount may not have handled today’s heavy track and didn’t feel comfortable over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. 
 
ARALETTA – Approaching the 1000m, bumped with VINTAGE VIBES.
 
VINTAGE VIBES – Approaching the 1000m, bumped with ARALETTA. Raced wide throughout.

CANPIKAPONY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and entering the home straight. Leaving the 300m, steadied when tightened for room by YEAH COPY (D. Boche) which shifted in when not clear, to the inside of ARALETTA. Jockey D. Boche was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in this incident.
 
YEAH COPY – Leaving the 300m, shifted in to obtain clear running after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ARALETTA.
 
MR WANDJI – Began awkwardly.
