SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

GENERAL
When apprentice S. Tierney was ill, Stewards permitted apprentice A. McColm as the replacement rider of SNITZSTREAM in race 5. Apprentice S. Tierney was advised she would require a medical clearance before riding next.

Race 3: Rider J. Guthman-Chester was fined $100 for failing to seek permission of the Stewards before leaving the racecourse.

Race 1 - FERTPRO CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1980 M

EMPRESS ASPEN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after racing at Toowoomba 22 August 2026. Passing the 500m was awkwardly placed for several strides close to the heels of SHEDRIVESABENTLEY (C. Graham), which shifted out. Rider C. Graham was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

EMPIRE OF ART (GER) – When placed under pressure in the home straight laid in. Rider E. Lang could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

MINI BOO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

QUALITY MISS – Raced keen early.​

ANOTHER DAZZLER – Change of tactics – more forward – Raced in a mid-back position. Began awkwardly and lost ground.


Race 2 - BARRIER REEF POOLS BENCHMARK 65 800 M

MEDALS – Made the home turn awkwardly and over the concluding stages shifted out before being corrected.

HEROIC CHIEF – When under pressure in the straight laid out.

YOWERI – Reared, contacting the barrier crossbar and losing ground. Approaching the 500m, contacted the rail and then held up approaching the 400m, before shifting out from behind KING OF GERALDINE to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. ​

LEAVE NO DOUBT – After the running of race 3, collapsed in the tie-up stalls. The gelding was immediately attended to by the on-course veterinarians, but a decision was made to humanely euthanize the horse. Post-mortem blood samples were taken.

DRUMS OF WAR – Began awkwardly.

COOL SHALAA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period.​

KING OF GERALDINE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 400m, laid in away from TARA’S REWARD, contacted the rail and became unbalanced.​

Race 3 - IPSWICH PARTY HIRE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350 M

The start of this race was delayed 5 minutes when CAUTIONARY TAIL dislodged the off fore plate requiring farrier attention. CAUTIONARY TAIL underwent a veterinary examination.

ESSESSBEE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period. Raced wide without cover throughout. Passing the 500m rider J. Guthman-Chester became concerned with the action of the gelding and for this reason eased his mount down from the 300m, adding ESSESSBBE was making an abnormal breathing sound upon pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S. Kendrick was notified ESSESSBEE will be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards and obtain a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

SOLO HUNTER – Race four wide without cover in the early and middle stages.​

PROPHET OF DESTINY – Raced keen early and near the 1000m was awkwardly placed close to the heels BATE (E. Lang), which after crossing, steadied. Rider E. Lang was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

KAIDA ODORI - Began awkwardly.

BATE – Lang - ​Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period.

CAUTIONARY TAIL – Began awkwardly. Steadied and became unbalanced passing the 1200m when tightened between KAIDA ODORI and ESSSESSBEE (J. Guthman-Chester), which shifted in when not fully clear. Rider J. Guthmann-Chester was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. When under pressure in the home straight, laid in. Noted after the race to have lost the off-fore plate.

GODDOR – Rider C. Graham reported the filly felt awkward in its action and for this reason eased her mount down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer J. Edwards was notified that GODDOR will be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

Race 4 - PRECINCT URBAN PLANNING FILLIES AND MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1350 M

The start of this race was rescheduled to 2.40pm as a result of veterinary attention being undertaken with LEAVE NO DOUBT from race 2.

VOSTOKOVA – Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped CONSTANT CAFÉ.

BRUTAL LASS​ - Slow to begin. Apprentice A. McColm reported after being slow to begin and settling near the rear of the field, he commenced to ride the mare along from passing the 700m and on straightening, brought his mount to the outside, where the gelding ran on well. He added upon reflection, he should have commenced to make his run earlier. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

CONSTANT CAFÉ – Bumped at the start.

SHES A BELLE – Began awkwardly.​

INTRECCIATO – Hampered near the 800m. Had difficulty in obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.​

MISS STEFFI – Raced keenly in the middle stages and approaching the 800m, checked from the heels of VOSTOKOVA, shifted out and hampered INTRECCIATO. ​

RARE MOON - Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 800m, was awkwardly placed to the inside of VOSTOKOVA. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until passing the 300m.


Race 5 - TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100 M

WRITTEN REALITY – Hampered at the start.
​
ANDERLAY – Jumped out at the start and hampered WRITTEN REALITY. Near the 250m was brushed by SNITZSTREAM.​

ANGELEO - Slow into stride.

RECONCILIATE – Began awkwardly. Momentarily awkward when close to the heels of ANGELEO near the 500m. Rider D. Moor reported the mare, which was resuming from a spell, was disappointing in its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.​

BAY OF THE SOUTH – Began awkwardly. Raced keen early.

GOLD STARS – Began awkwardly.​

Race 6 - SCHWEPPES COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1100 M

AIRSWING – Began awkwardly.

CITY GOLD FIELD – Inconvenienced leaving the barriers when PUROSANGUE shifted out. Approaching the 100m was taken out and steadied from the heels of FLYING VENTO (App B. Youngberry), which shifted out to improve. Apprentice B. Youngberry was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding. At the same point, NINE MILL steadied when SUM INVICTUS (App J. McMurray), shifted in when not quite clear. Apprentice J. McMurray was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. Rider A. Butler reported the gelding, in his view, choked down in the race. Trainer B. Healey confirmed the same view and indicated the stable will experiment with a change of gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

PUROSANGUE – Jumped out at the start.​​


Race 7 - AVS SECURITY FILLIES AND MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1100 M

DEEP KHARMA – Bumped and became unbalanced on jumping away.​

LADY MILAN – Noted to have lost its near hind plate following the race.

MAGIC MOZ – Began awkwardly, bumping with DEEP KHARMA, becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground. In the incident, DEEP KHAMA became badly unbalanced. Near the 150m shifted in and across the heels of EXTREME ALLY to continue going forward.​

MISS ZERMATT - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally for the first time. Trainer G. Cornish was advised that MISS ZERMATT would be stood down from racing under AR79(4) for 3 months and must Officially trial, jump out or gallop 1000m satisfactorily, in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again.

EXTREME ALLY – Rider B. Thompson reported travelled well early and middle stages but failed to respond to his riding in the home straight. ​

CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS – Began awkwardly with its head up.​

THE TORQUE XPRESS – Began awkwardly.

TSUNUKI – Began awkwardly.

CLUBHOUSE – Raced with its head up in the middle stages.​

SHINING PROISIR (NZ) – When under pressure in the home straight, laid in. ​

SAVE THE ROSES – Approaching the winning post was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TSUNUKI over the concluding stages and was not tested to the line.

SO YOU CAN TORQUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.​
