Race 1: AMALGAMATED PEST CONTROL MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres
CRAIGLEA ALDI- Jumped awkwardly and made contact with CRAIGLEA VITO which was taken out onto NAHARIYA.
CRAIGLEA VITO- Contact and taken outwards at the start. Leaving the 900 metres, hung out and took DANCE TO INSPIRE wider on the track.
NAHARIYA- Hampered at the start.
DRAGON TOWN- Raced wide and in the straight, hung in and difficult to ride out. Trainer advised warning would be placed on the gelding.
DANCE TO INSPIRE- Stood flat-footed and lost ground at the start. Rider reported that shortly after the start, resented the kickback and raced ungenerously.
CRAIGLEA SWIFT- Race wide throughout. Rolled out slightly near 50 metres and caused HAYLLAR’S DUB to be eased.
HAYLLAR’S DUB- Eased near the 50 metres. Rider reprimanded for use of his whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to 100 metres.
Race 2: WARATAH FENCING PRODUCTS CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres
ATTRACTION- Jumped out and made contact with CRAIGLEA MISSION
CRAIGLEA MISSION- Contact at the start. Regarding performance, rider stated that the gelding resented the kickback.
LINDERHOF- Began awkwardly.
CURLEY GREY- Began awkwardly, lost ground and raced wide throughout.
LITTLE FEATHER- Approaching the 800 metres, when positioned on the rail with no other runners in close proximity, the saddle commenced to slip to the near side and near the 700 metres, the apprentice was dislodged. Apprentice Chan was attended to by ambulance officers and transported to hospital for further examination and observation. A medical certificate of fitness will be required prior to his next riding engagements. Rider replacements were made as per the Stewards summary.
CHOICE JOURNEY- Over the concluding stages, hampered by the riderless horse which was positioned to its inside.
Race 3: IMPARJA / QANTASLINK WEIGHT FOR AGE - 1000 metres
A short delay to correct weight as Jockey J Babarovich (WIGPOOL) viewed the photo finish image for third. After doing so, rider was satisfied with the judge’s placing and correct weight was declared.
SEAGAL- Slow to begin.
JACAPO- Jumped outwards at the start.
CRYSTAL MATES- Tightened at the start when runners either side shifted ground.
POWERFUL JET- Tightened at the start when runners either side shifted ground.
HIDDEN DUCK- Jumped inwards.
IVANHOE- Slow to begin.
WIGPOOL- Raced wide throughout.
GESINK- Raced wide throughout.
CRAIGLEA FALCON- When questioned regarding its performance, rider stated he was satisfied with the performance given the gelding usually races in a midfield or worse position and had only failed to make ground when effected by the kickback.
Race 4: COOPERS ANIMAL HEALTH BM 60 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
A short delay to correct weight as Jockey B Richardson and Trainer B Richardson (STANDOVER) viewed the photo finish image for second. After doing so, rider and trainer were satisfied with the judge’s placing and correct weight was declared.
CRAIGLEA ZIP- Tightened at the start when runners either side shifted ground.
KEV’S DESTINY- Jumped inwards. Raced wide throughout.
DIAMONEEZE- Jumped outwards.
HOFFENHORRY- Slow to begin. Taken in across heels of another runner near 900 metres.
STANDOVER- Began awkwardly and raced ungenerously for a short distance afterwards. Approaching the 900 metres, when continued to race ungenerously and tight in the inside of DIAMONEEZE, shifted in and away and took HOFFENHORRY inwards across the heels of ANOTHER SHADE.
Race 5: CENTRAL WEST RURAL / CELEBRATE COUNTRY LONGREACH CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1600 metres
SECRETS- When no other rider was available, Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 2.46pm.
A DEPENDANT- Inclined to over-race in the middle stages.
SPIRIT OF MANY- Near the 900 metres, awkwardly placed on the heels of HELLAVA HURRY when JOE BLOW laid inwards.
LEO’S SPIRIT- Raced wide throughout.
BUTHER BOY- Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: GEOFF GREALY MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400 metres
BORN TO FIRE- Reared as the start was effected and lost some ground.
MONBAZILLAC- Began awkwardly.
SEQUELENE- Jumped awkwardly outwards onto BOYS SPLURGE.
PINTERRA- Approaching the 900 metres, shifted in slightly.
KOMODO- Approaching the 900 metres, eased from heels of runner which shifted in slightly.
TOUGH COMPANY- Eased near the 900 metres.
ARMANI PRINCE- When questioned regarding its performance, rider stated that after beginning fairly and in the middle stages positioned midfield, resented the kickback and failed to race competitively from that point.
