GENERAL
The following horses were declared late scratching’s by Stewards at 8.07am due to no riders being available at the meeting:
Race 2: TERAMBI – LUNESSA - UNTOLD STORY
Race 3: SHOALWATER BAY - FINAL MISSION - FLOP TURN RIVER
Race 4: ALL VALOUR - MISS HIGHFALUTIN (NZ) - STEP TO SUCCESS - WANT TO BE PROUD
Race 5: HAN DYNASTY – HURTLE - VICTORY BAY (NZ)
Race 1:SIMSTOCK RURAL - VALE SHANE MCGOVERN MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
ARE YA THERE – Bumped with LOCK IN at the start. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Shifted outwards across the heels of CIRCUS MAXIMUS near the 200m to maintain clear running.
CIRCUS MAXIMUS - Shifted ground outwards rounding the home turn before shifting back to the rail approaching the 200m and tightened the ground of ARE YA THERE. Jockey R Faehr was reprimanded for failing to ensure his runner maintained a straight course at this stage of the race.
LOCK IN – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped with ARE YA THERE. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and weakened over the concluding stages.
RISE AND RESIST – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
BOOM FLYER – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Briefly inconvenienced near the 200m when ARE YA THERE shifted outwards to avoid the heels of CIRCUS MAXIMUS. Rider dropped her whip near the 150m.
TRIPLE JAB - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Thangool on 1 June 2026 and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Passing the 200m was obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of LOCK IN which laid in under pressure.
Race 2:BRETT BROWNE ELECTRICAL CLASS 4 PLATE 1000 M
Stewards noted that a number of kangaroos crossed the track in advance of the field when they straightened for the run the finish however no runner reacted in any way so correct weight was not delayed.
PENINSULA - Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Impeded soon after the start when SPEC OF SILVER jumped inwards sharply. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
PERDITION – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards for the majority of the event. Trainer R Little was advised that a warning has been placed on the record of the gelding for its overall performance. Trainer R Little advised that he would look to experiment with possible gear changes prior to the gelding’s next start.
ARTIE PANTZ – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LOVE CHILD (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
SUPERSTITIOUS - Began awkwardly and blundered at the start. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
SPEC OF SILVER – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards sharply impeding PENINSULA.
BLANC DE NOIR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 3:O'BRIEN'S GARAGE QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 M
TAHKIAN BUBBLES – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room approaching and rounding the home turn.
ZOUSTRONG – Slow to begin and impeded at the start when MONDAY CHOICE jumped outwards sharply. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.
FINAL COMMENT - Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PANDA DRUM – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HOLY HOLY HOLY - Slow to begin.
RUN FREDA RUN – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MONDAY CHOICE – Jumped outwards sharply at the start and impeded ZOUSTRONG. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4:HOMESTEAD AGRIBUSINESS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 M
BOOM BOOM RAY - Began awkwardly and bumped with FRENCH EMPIRE. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
MAYBE – Buffeted between runners at the start. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey J Rudd was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for applying the whip to his mount on consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
CRIMSON DECIPHER – Began awkwardly and bumped MAYBE at the start.
FRENCH EMPIRE – Bumped with BOOM BOOM RAY at the start.
WANT TO BE PROUD – Declared a late scratching at 8.07am due to no rider being available at or close to the allocated weight.
BLOOMIN' GOLD - Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Hung in under pressure in the home straight resulting in the rider having difficulty riding out fully to the finish. Apprentice M Mankelow explained that after settling at the rear of the field the mare failed to respond to her riding urges and proved to be disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
ZOULY – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped with MAYBE.
Race 5:SPORTSBET 2026 BATTLE OF THE BUSH BARCALDINE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1200 M
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of all placed runners to view the photo finish and after doing so were satisfied with the judge’s decision and correct weight was declared.
CAFFREY (IRE) – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Near the 500m become unbalanced for a number of strides and shifted in contacting the inside running rail. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Began awkwardly.
FINE SHOT - Began awkwardly.
HURRICANE THUNDER – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
SCORCHED LAND - Jockey R Faehr was found guilty of a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 8 occasions prior to the 100m and 17 times in total. The license to ride in races of Mr Faehr was suspended for 8 days commencing midnight 6 June 2026 and concluding midnight 14 June 2026.
SHE SMASHES – Began awkwardly.
ALL ENGLAND – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
TOKYO SINS – Began awkwardly.
