Race 1: Bontech Pty Ltd Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – DOWN’S RIDGE 2nd – ASHLEN 3rd – PUMPED UP KICKS 4th – RED ‘N’ YARRA

RAPID DESIRE – Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

EXTRA GLANCE – Was withdrawn due to no suitable rider being available.

SEVEN DEGREES – Stewards permitted A Spradau to ride the gelding 2.5kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

FASHION KURV – Was a late scratching at 11.00am as no suitable rider was available.

MR SAUVAGE – Was a late scratching at 11.00am as no suitable rider was available.

ARTIE’S SON – Stewards permitted A Spradau to ride the gelding 1.0kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

MENELAION – Began awkwardly, throwing its head in the air on jumping.

Race 4: Colemans Stockfeeds Maxwelton Cup Benchmark 70 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SMOOTH GENERAL 2nd – ALL FIVES 3rd – GHOST TRAIN 4th – CHEERS BROWE

MOSSALE – A Spradau was a late riding engagement and was permitted to ride the gelding 1.0kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

MAINS POWER – T Brummel was a late riding engagement.

BRUNNER – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

ALL FIVES – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

SMOOTH GENERAL – Was slowly away. Jockey T Chambers reported that the gelding was inclined to lay in down the running.

LEICA DUEL – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Hawkins Fuels Patron’s Open Handicap 900 metres:
1st – CARRY ME 2nd – OBSERVER 3rd – SURPASSER 4th – POWER REPORT

The announcement of correct weight was delayed whilst Jockey T Hill who rode SURPASSER, the 3rd placegetter, viewed the patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against OBSERVER the 2nd placegetter, on the grounds of interference near the 200m. After viewing the patrol footage Jockey Hill elected not to proceed with an objection.

CARRY ME – Jumped out at the start crowding another runner.

STEINBERG – Jumped in at the start crowding another runner.

POWER REPORT – Was inconvenienced at the start when crowded between runners.

FLYING INDY – Was slowly away. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer Mr. G Wiles was advised that a certificate of fitness must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.

OBSERVER – Was inclined to shift out under pressure in the home straight, despite the efforts of Jockey A Spradau, and in doing so inconvenienced another runner.

SURPASSER – Had to be eased off the heels of another runner which was shifting ground outwards in the home straight.
