SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Mackay 20th March 2015
Race 7: DGH Engineering Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
FAST ANNIE - Trainer G. Farrell stated that the mare pulled up with no apparent significant abnormalities. He said that in his opinion it did not appreciate being pressured in the lead in the early stages, however even allowing for this he was disappointed with the mare's finishing effort. Mr Farrell added that it was now his intention to freshen the mare prior to its next race start.
RACE 1: Mackay Chiropractic QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - CRAIGLEA ALTISE 2nd - CATEGORY TWO 3rd - AWE CITY 4th - DAWN'S DIAMOND
MITCHY'S INSTINCT - Tardy at the start.
ROCKET LINER - Raced keenly through the middle statges and was inclined to lay out.
BAMBY - When questioned regarding the poor performance of the colt, Jockey Dale Evans explained that his mount travelled comfortably throughout in a prominent position, however shortly after straightening for home, when placed under pressure, failed to respond and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Manzelmann advised stewards that it was his intention to have the colt gelded and spelled.
RACE 2: Raymond Seaborn Memorial Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - BENJI 2nd - MANDALONG PASS 3rd - ON THE BID 4th - LYKELY
MOUNTAIN LANE - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground (2 lengths), then was reluctant to stretch in the early stages and raced greenly thereafter.

ON THE BID - Raced wide throughout.
LYKELY - On returning to scale the rider reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout the event.
OH YEAH - Shortly after straightening for home was awkwardly placed on heels and had to be steadied.
BENJI - When questioned regading the improved performance of the gelding, trainer Mr A. Jenkinson explained that at the gelding's most recent start it sweated up badly in the humid conditions on that occasion and was obliged to race wide throughout the event. He attributed today's performance to the more favourable barrier draw and the cooler conditions.

MAGGIE'S PAL - Raced wide throughout.
BOBCAT - When questioned regarding the gelding leading, contrary to its usual racing pattern, Jockey P. Cullen stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position from the wide barrier draw.
