Race 1: Mareeba Mazda QTIS Maiden Plate 1210 metres:
1st – UNDIAMO 2nd – FAVOURED ONE 3rd – STORM IN AFRICA 4th – IZZY’S KEEPER

STORM IN AFRICA: Was slowly away.

SAVAGE LAND: Was slowly away.

LADY’S GATHERING: Bumped with another runner at the start.

ZEDAHEEL: Bumped with another runner at the start. Raced wide near the 600 metres.

REGAL ROTH: Commenced to race fiercely near the 800 metres, taking another runner wide.

CHRISTMAS VAMPIRE: Was taken wide by another runner near the 800 metres.

Race 2: Colour Studio Class B Handicap 1010 metres:
1st – MR WRECKER 2nd – ROUND THE CORNER 3rd – OUT OF THE BLUE 4th – AERIAL PING PONG

Passing the 800 metres AERIAL PING PONG ( B Swaffer), EXPEL ( App. K Aho) and KISSER (T Bannon) were all crowded for running to the inside of ROUND THE CORNER (F Edwards) which had shifted in marginally. Jockey F Edwards was advised to excercise more care.

DRAGON ACE: Began awkwardly.

AERIAL PING PONG: Raced fiercely for some distance passing the 800 metres after being crowded for racing room.

QUE CEE: Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Mareeba Leagues Club QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1010 metres:
1st – GIVE ME TIME 2nd – CHANGEINTHEFORTUNE 3rd – OH YEAH 4th – MONASHEE LASS

MAN AROUND TOWN: Was slowly away.

WAR SHADOW: Was slowly away.

OH YEAH: Shifted out at the start crowding another runner.

CRAIGLEA SACHA: Shifted in at the start crowding another runner.

GEORGIE PORGIE: Was inconvenienced when crowded between runners at the start.

CHANGEINTHEFORTUNE: Raced ungenerously after being restrained off the heels of another runner near the 800 metres.

Race 4: Mareeba RSL Diggers Trophy Benchmark 55 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – OZEIN 2nd – ARCANUS 3rd – KING OF THEBES 4th – OLD RED

SPIN AGAIN: Was slowly away.

ZATSACAT: Was slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly.

PENTHOUSE POPPY: Threw its head in the air shortly after the start. Raced wide at the home turn.

OLD RED: Was unable to muster early pace. Jockey D Green reported that the gelding had got its tongue over the bit in running. Trainer Mr. F Weiland advised Stewards that the gelding would race with a tongue tie at future starts.

SUPREME ROCKET: Jockey App. K Aho reported that the filly was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event. Raced wide at the home turn.

ARCANUS: Was severely checked off the heels of another runner which commenced to hang out near the 800 metres.

Race 5: Riverside Spelling Benchmark 75 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – BOBCAT 2nd – LIL’ RED MONKEY 3rd – BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND 4th – RATTUS CONATUS

DE LA SOUL: Was fractious in the barriers. Bumped with another runner at the start. Inclined to over-race in the early stages of the event. Bumped with another runner on straightening.

LIL’ RED MONKEY: Bumped with another runner at the start.

GUITARIST: Had to be restrained near the 1000 metres after improving onto the heels of another runner.

BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND: Had to be restrained when racing in restricted room near the 600 metres.

RATTUS CONATUS: Bumped with another runner on straightening.

Race 6: Central Tyre Service ‘Celebration’ Open Handicap 1210 metres:
1st – CANHEDANCE 2nd – BESEIGED 3rd – BO ROSSA 4th – DAZZLE ON

CARAVAN SANG: Jumped out at the start bumping another runner.

BO ROSSA: Crowded between runners after beginning slowly. Shortly after the start made heavy contact with the hindquarters of another runner. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early stages of the event.

DAZZLE ON: Shortly after the start was bumped heavily by another runner, blundering and losing ground as a result.

Race 7: Mareeba transport Benchmark 60 Handicap 1123 metres:
1st – BILT LEICA 2nd – DEE DOUBLEYOU 3rd – MANALUTE 4th – CASHED UP BILLY

Passing the 800 metres HYDRIVE (S Wilson) and PERFECT RAINBOW (T Bannon) both lost ground when racing to the inside of MR BULISTA (App. N Yadi) which had shifted in slightly away from SHADOW LINE (S Kaya). SIGNIFICANT CHOICE (W D’Avila) which was following also lost ground as a result of this incident. After hearing evidence and viewing patrol footage Stewards formed the opinion that App. N Yadi had made sufficient effort, at this point, to relieve pressure to runners on his inside, and were unable to apportion responsibility for the incident on any individual rider.

BILT LEICA: Raced wide at the home turn.

MANALUTE: Raced wide at the home turn.

SIGNIFICANT CHOICE: Shifted in under pressure in the home straight forcing another runner inwards.

PEMBERTON: Was taken in by another runner in the home straight and, as a result, was held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the event.
