Race 1: L M Engineering QTIS Maiden Plate 900 metres:
1st – DIVINE SAGA 2nd – EILEEN ANNIE 3rd – TOXICITY 4th – DECLAN STYLE
I MISSED MICK - Was reluctant to load into the barriers.
ANOTHER SURPRISE – Was tightened for room at the start. Raced wide in the middle stages and rounding the home turn.
TURBO DIESEL - Shifted out soon after the start. Was caught wide in the early stages.
TIPSY ROCKET – Was slowly into stride.
ROCKET LINER - Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn and down the running.
DIVINE SAGA - Upon returning to scale Jockey W D'Avila reported his mount had raced greenly throughout.
DECLAN STYLE - Upon returning to scale Jockey S Kaya reported his mount was reluctant to stretch out in the going in the early stages.
Race 2: Stallan Security Services Class B Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – ONE EYED UNDERTAKER 2nd – CENTREHALF FORWARD 3rd – BONNIE BON BON 4th – HE'S HARADA'S SON
ONE EYED UNDERTAKER – Was slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping.
GREAT PRETENDER – Was slowly away. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
NIC'S DRAGON - Bumped heavily with another runner shortly after the start. Raced in restricted room in the early stages and had to be restrained when awkwardly placed on heels. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
HUMPTY BUMPTY - Bumped heavily with another runner shortly after the start.
SERIKOS FLYER – Was caught wide in the early and middle stages.
LATEST EDITION - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Following the running of this event Stewards downgraded the track rating to a Heavy 8.
Race 3: TRAVELEXPERIENCE.COM Class 3 Plate 1210 metres:
1st – AMERICAN HUSSLER 2nd – SCHNELLE'S PFERD 3rd – MODEL TO EXCEED 4th – KATTER
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of second placegetter SCHNELLE'S PFERD to view the photo of the finish. After viewing the photo correct weight was declared on the judges placings.
CASHED UP BULLY - Began awkwardly with its head in the air. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
AIR OF HEAVEN - Proved extremely difficult to load into the barriers. Trainer Ms. J Ball advised Stewards that the mare would now be sent for a spell. Nonetheless Ms. Ball was advised that the mare would be required to successfully complete one barrier trial prior to being permitted to race again. Lost it's off hind plate in the running.
THE PANTZ - Upon returning to scale Jockey S McGovern reported his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage throughout the event due to the heavy track conditions.
SPIRITED SAINT - Upon returning to scale Jockey S Wilson reported his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage throughout the event due to the heavy track conditions. Approaching the 800 metres had to be restrained when awkwardly placed on heels. Jockey S.Wilson was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR137A for striking his mount on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more times than permitted under the rule.
DRAGON HEART - Jockey S Kaya reported his mount felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary exam revealed no abnormalities.
KATTER - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 4: Benton Langley Plumbing Class B Handicap 1010 metres:
1st – RISING KING 2nd – MADEMOISELLE ZARIZ 3rd – TIERES TOUCH 4th – MAN OF BUSINESS
WILD DIVA - Was a late withdrawal at 3.20pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers and becoming wedged under the rear gates. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on WILD DIVA be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed prior to 3.20pm be subject to deductions of 16c win and 14c place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr. A Malliff was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the mare being permitted to race again.
TIERES TOUCH - Jockey W D'Avila reported that the gelding had never travelled comfortably in the heavy track conditions.
SWEENEY - Proved difficult to load. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was inclined to lay in for a short distance after the start. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Lost its near fore plate in the running. Trainer Ms. K McGovern was advised that the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again.
BOOM BOX – Raced wide in the early stages. Was taken wider on the track by another runner which was shifting out approaching the 750 metres.
RISING KING - Was inclined to shift ground outwards approaching the 750 metres.
MIDNIGHT SONG – Bumped with another runner on jumping and was then inclined to lay in for a short distance soon after the start. Raced wide in the early stages and rounding the home turn.
MONSOON TWISTER - Apprentice M Kai reported the gelding had failed to handle todays heavy track conditions.
Race 5: Steve Cordenos R.E/Mareeba Accounting & Tax Specialists Open Handicap 1010 metres:
1st – BOOM SHA LA 2nd – CHEVAL ARGENTE 3rd – WISHFUL 4th – BESIEGED
MASTER DANNY – Was slowly into stride.
ARMY OF ONE – Was inconvenienced when crowded between runners at the start. Raced wide throughout.
RAPT IN RUMBA – Was caught wide without cover in the early stages.
SCOT FREE – Was inclined to lay out near the 450 metres and had to be steadied off the heels of another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the offside fetlock. The gelding also displayed signs of mild shin soreness. Trainer Mr. J Manzelmann advised he would now consider the geldings racing future, and advise Stewards in due course.
BOOM SHA LA - Raced wide rounding the home turn. Jockey S McGovern was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR137A for striking his mount on nine occasions prior to the 100m, four more times than permitted under the rule.
