Race 1: Breast Cancer Awareness QTIS Maiden Plate 900 metres:
1st – WHAT THE HECK 2nd – CIPRIANI 3rd – RUSSIAN BLACK 4th – DOWN’S RIDGE
FASHION KURV - Was a late scratching at 1.30pm when no rider was available.
VILLAINOUS LASS – Was a late scratching at 1.30pm when no rider was available.
AGUABLANCA - Was difficult to load.
DOWN’S RIDGE - Stewards permitted A. Spradau to ride the gelding 2.5kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available. Jumped awkwardly and lost ground then raced greenly in the early stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
RUSSIAN BLACK - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
RED ‘N’ YARRA - Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost several lengths. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 2: Pink Ribbon Class B Handicap 900 metres:
1st – REFORMER 2nd – BOWLED OVER 3rd – TEN TORINOS 4th – PISTOLPACKINGPENNY
YOUR WAY OR MINE - Was a late scratching at 1.30pm when no rider was available.
NICABELLE - Was a late scratching at 3.05pm by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice after the mare was found to be dehydrated in the tie up stall. Stewards ordered all bets placed on NICABELLE prior to 3.05pm were to be refunded and that all winning bets placed prior to this time were to paid less 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket for the win and less 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket for the place.
BEAUDETTE: Apprentice T. Tincknell was a late riding engagement. On jumping attempted to buck and headed towards the outside rail and was pulled up and took no part in the race. Trainer Mr D. SMITH was advised that prior to racing again mare must successfully complete two barrier trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.
BOWLED OVER – Shortly after the start was tightened for room.
Race 3: Save Second Base Class 3 Plate 900 metres:
1st – MIMI’S ROCKET 2nd – SEVEN DEGREES 3rd – EXTRA 4th – PEG LEG
TIANA – Was a late scratching at 1.30pm when the mare injured itself en route to the track. Trainer Ms T Parry was advised that a certificate of fitness must be produced prior to mare racing again.
POWER REPORT – On jumping away knuckled badly dislodging the rider. Jockey Spradau was uninjured however forfeited his remaining rides. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained minor lacerations to its off foreleg.
EXTRA - Raced wide rounding the 600 metre turn.
MIMI’S ROCKET - Raced wide rounding the 600 metre turn.
Race 4: Check Your Lumps For Bumps Open Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – CARRY ME 2nd – GHOST TRAIN 3rd – STRUMMING 4th – TUATARA
T.Chambers replaced A. Spradau who was indisposed, as the rider of TUATARA.
BUFFETT (NZ) - Stewards questioned Jockey M. Cummings regarding the performance of the gelding which was tailed off. Jockey advised he was slowly away and that the gelding performs best over a much further distance. Stewards accepted this explanation.
Race 5: Big Or Small Save Them All Benchmark 60 Handicap 1100 metres:
1st – MASATAKA 2nd – TOO MANY LIES 3rd – TOO MANY LIES 4th – UNREAL
SIR JAYSTIN - Was a late scratching at 4.15pm when no rider was available.
UNREAL - Raced wide rounding the 600 metre and home turns.
MASATAKA - Raced wide rounding the 600 metre and home turns.
TOO MANY LIES - Raced wide rounding the home turn.
