AZCONPETE – Jockey J Barbarovic became unbalanced on jumping. Raced in restricted room shortly after the start when crowded by other runners. Raced wide throughout.
WHISKEY RIVER – Severely checked on jumping and lost its position, was then ridden forward thereafter.
LEUCAENA – Apprentice rider M Mankelow reported that she felt the mare resented the kickback and failed to stretch out.
TENGUN ANNIE – Jumped awkwardly shifting out crowding CONFISERIE (NZ) which was taken out onto AZCONPETE which in turn was carried out abruptly checking WHISKEY RIVER which lost ground.
CONFISERIE (NZ) – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide.

Race 2: BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP  1000 M

MIA TORETTO – Blundered on jumping and lost ground.
GROOVE JET – Slow to begin and raced very wide throughout.
KWIK AZ HELL – Raced wide.
POLLY HOFFA – Difficult to load. Rider reported the gelding resented the kickback. Raced wide throughout.
SNIPILLICIOUS – Lost ground passing the 600 metres. When questioned Rider J Barbarovich reported that the gelding was not comfortable due to the kickback.

Race 3: BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP  1000 M

OCTOBER REVOLUTION  - Slow to begin. Forced wider making the home turn when ZAVABOOM hung out.
LAST DITCH EFFORT – After being slow to begin, commenced to lose ground in the early and middle stages and resented the kickback. Made ground over the final 400 metres when apprentice Mankelow shifted wider on the track to avoid dust. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ZAVABOOM   - Hung out at 700 metres and bumped OCTOBER REVOLUTION. Continued to hang out between the 600 metres and home turn and carried  OCTOBER REVOLUTION wider on the turn. Hung out down the straight onto OCTOBER REVOLUTION and therefore Apprentice M Goring was unable to fully test his mount over the concluding stages. Trainer E Morton was advised that a final warning was issued regarding ZAVABOOM hanging out.

Race 4: OPEN HANDICAP  1200 M

CASINO LORD  - collapsed after the completion of the race approaching the 1200 metre chute after suffering a cardiac arrest and was subsequently found on arrival by the official veterinarian to be deceased. Jockey N Yadi was uninjured.

Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP    1200 M

This race was rescheduled to 4.35 p.m. to enable the track to be redragged.

VONK  - Tightened for room on jumping between WIN AND TONIC and SOURCES LINK
WIN AND TONIC – Jumped awkwardly. Tired over the final 600 metres.
COMBS – Raced wide. Trainer K Krogh was questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding in winning today in comparison to the horse’s previous  start at Gregory Downs on 2 May 2026 when 5th of 6 runners beaten 11.4 lengths. Mr Krogh reported that prior to the Gregory Downs engagement that the form of COMBS when racing at Mount Isa had been consistent and that COMBS was not suited to the firm surface at Gregory Downs. The explanation was noted.
SOURCES LINK  - Jumped in at the start. Raced wide. Apprentice M Mankelow reported that the gelding which was having its first race start on a dirt surface had resented the kickback and she elected to ease wider on the track to avoid same. She stated that SOURCES LINK  had then finished on strongly over the final 500 metres.

Race 6:  BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1450 M

No Racing Incidents.
