GENERAL
 
1.    The following runners were declared a late scratching at 11:30am due to no rider being available:
Race 3. No 1. JOY MCCOY
Race 3. No 3. LEGAL CHALLENGE
Race 3. No 11. SOLAR SERT
Race 3. No 12. GROOVE CITY
Race 4. No 6. TORONADO ROUGE
Race 5. No 7. OFFANGO
Race 5. No 10. BITTERBLUE
2.    BETTER CLASS, which was engaged in Race 1, was declared a late scratching at 11:30am due to no suitable rider being available.
3.    Prior to the start of the meeting, a medical clearance was provided by Rider Michael Mcdonald.
4.    Upon arrival to the course, apprentice rider Shae Nielson advised Stewards that she was unable to claim her full allowance on CURRY LEGEND, which was engaged in Race 1. Rider Neilson was subsequently fined $200.00 under the provisions of AR 143(14)(a).
 
Race 1: PRESTON ROWE PATERSON REGIONAL NORTH QLD QTIS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000M

RESTRICTIONS – Began awkwardly then shifted out hampering DECEMBER SKY, which lost ground. Stewards noted rider Hannah Phillips exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+2) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use, no further action was taken.
 
DANCE WIZZARD – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DECEMBER SKY – Hampered on jumping by RESTRICTIONS and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
GEOFF AND JENNY – Raced wide rounding the final turn.
 
Race 2: VIPER WATER SOLUTIONS Maiden Plate 1200M

NOBLE VALOUR – Reluctant to proceed to the barriers after leaving the mounting enclosure. Trainer Tanya Parry was advised a warning would be placed on NOBLE VALOUR for its pre-race behavior. Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting to the inside of CHARGRILL passing the 200 metres to gain clear running.
 
PAST DUE – Raced wide throughout.
 
SEABEE – Was declared a late scratching at 9:00am due to transportation difficulties.
 
Race 3: CHARTERS TOWERS TOYOTA BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200M

FIFTY CARATS – Raced wide throughout. On returning to scale, rider Michael McDonald reported that in his opinion FIFTY CARATS did not appreciate the Richmond track conditions today.
 
THE BOI – Slow to begin.
 
THUNDER MOON – Taken wider rounding the final turn when BITTERGREYMAGIC hung out.

DUCHESS OF MILAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
BITTERGREYMAGIC – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages after being crossed before shifting into a two wide position leaving the 500 metres. Hung out rounding the final turn taking THUNDER MOON wider. Trainer Shryn Royes was advised a warning will be placed on the gelding’s record.
 
MISS MILDRED – Rider Denicious Smith dropped his whip passing the 1000 metres. Trainer Matthew McGuire advised Stewards following the event of the presence of blood in one nostril. MISS MILDRED shall before racing again be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a steward under the provisions of AR 79(8). Trainer McGuire advised Stewards that it would be his intention to retire the mare.
 
Race 4: HUGHENDEN MOTORCYCLES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200M

GAMBOA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice rider Shae Nielson stated that in her opinion the heavy weight impost in today’s event proved detrimental to GAMBOA’s finishing chances.
 
METAL ROCK – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.  
 
SEIRYU – Raced wide throughout.
 
YELLOWSTONE BETH – Slow into stride. Raced wide with cover throughout.

Race 5: SOUTHERN GULF NRM BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400M

MISTER MODERATION – Bumped with FAR REACHING on jumping.
 
THE TYLER – Raced wide throughout.

LAST LINE DANCE – Began awkwardly then bumped shortly after the start by PROJECT XERO. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SILVER PEARL – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting to the inside of MISTER MODERATION leaving the 200 metres to gain clear running.
 
ZOUHOPE – Raced wide throughout.
 
PROJECT XERO – Bumped with LAST LINE DANCE shortly after the start.
 
FAR REACHING – Bumped with MISTER MODERATION on jumping.
