LATE RIDING CHANGES:

Stewards took no action for the late declaration of riders, as listed in the Stewards Raceday Summary, as the deadline for acceptances was extended to 12.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 17th February 2015.

As Jockey R. McMahon elected not to fulfil his engagements due to concerns about transport difficulties, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.

GENERAL

App. T. Williams was fined $100 under A.R. 92 for failing to claim down to her riding weight on CRAIGLEA DIAMOND in Race 1. Apprentice Williams was also fined $100 under A.R. 120(b) for being overweight and unable to fulfil her engagement for JEWEL BANGLES. App. Darren Evans was substituted as the rider of the filly.

Race 1: XXXX Gold QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st CRAIGLEA ALTISE 2nd CRAIGLEA JABIRU 3rd CRAIGLEA ALDI 4th - CRAIGLEA ARNIE

THE GIRLS IN PARIS - Raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA ALDI - Began awkwardly and laid out under pressure from the 300 metres.

CRAIGLEA RUSH - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which performed poorly, revealed that the gelding was suffering from colic. Trainer K. Johnston advised stewards that she may spell the gelding, however will monitor its progress in the days following the event.

Race 2: Summer Bight QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st MISTER BOOZE 2nd BEST HURRAH 3rd JEWEL BANGLES 4th - STYLISH LUCK

JEWEL BANGLES - Approaching the 900 metres shifted ground, resulting in PURE CHARM (App. R. Payne) being tightened for room and having to be eased. App. Darren Evans pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that approaching the 900 metres he permitted JEWEL BANGLES to shift in when insufficiently clear of PURE CHARM, which was tightened for room and lost its rightful running. Apprentice Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period covering 2 Capricornia meetings, to commence at midnight on Saturday, 21st February 2015, up to and including midnight on Saturday, 28th February 2015.

Jockey Evans stated that he had not been given any specific instructions, however the filly was agitated whilst parading behind the barriers, and when the start was effected SAMARAH GIRL began very awkwardly, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground.
