RACE 1: PARKHURST QUALITY MEATS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1050 M
SPIDER MCGLURK – Bumped with MOOCHI STARLIGHT on jumping. Raced wide with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
EL FORTRESS – Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
MOOCHI STARLIGHT – Bumped with SPIDER MCGLURK on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Bumped with SADINIA passing the 500m.
OVER DRAFT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
RELEASE ME – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
WISE CHOICE – Jumped away awkwardly.
SARDINIA – Became unbalanced on jumping. Bumped with MOOCHI STARLIGHT passing the 500m. Laid in over the final 200m.
WARHOL – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly throughout. Near the 300m, contacted the running rail and steadied from the heels of RELEASE ME which shifted in under pressure. Jockey C. Bayliss rider of RELEASE ME pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that near the 300m, Jockey C. Bayliss allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WARHOL (A. Butler) causing that runner to severely check for multiple strides, contacting the running rail. Jockey C. Bayliss’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days, with the suspension to commence midnight 12/7/2025 and to conclude midnight 26/7/2025.
UPTURN – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 700m, steadied from the heels of CAPRICORNUS when the pace slackened. Held up rounding the home turn up until a point near the 300m.
JOLIE APOLLINE – Over raced during the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 2: BRISBANE AIRPORT HOTELS GROUP CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1100 M
BIOGRAPHER – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly throughout.
FORTRESS AUSTRALIA – Over raced during the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn up until a point near the 300m.
CANNY BE BETTER – Inconvenienced on jumping. Over raced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels near the 1000m.
UNIVERSAL HARMONY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
TOW THE LINE – Shifted in on jumping and bumped FIREUPZOUS. Apprentice T. Fenlon reported that she became concerned with the action of the mare on pulling up. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a slow recovery and abnormal respiratory noises. Trainer J. Manzelmann reported that TOW THE LINE would now be sent for a spell. Stewards advised J. Manzelmann that TOW THE LINE would require a veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic examination prior to being required to officially trial.
FIRE SPHERE – Hampered after the start and lost ground.
FIREUPZOUS – Bumped on jumping after TOW THE LINE shifted in. Raced keenly during the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 3: CHAS JONES MEMORIAL QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes after an interstate race was delayed.
ENFORCEABLE – Inclined to lay outwards in the early stages of the home straight.
WHATTA MISSION – Passing the 200m was obliged to alter course to avoid the heels of PACEIRA.
GIAPPONESE – Slow to begin and restrained to a rearward position.
LOVER NOTA FIGHTER – Jumped away awkwardly. Steadied after the pace of the race slackened approaching the 600m.
NOTFORTHEMONEY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Steadied after the pace of the race slackened approaching the 600m. Laid out shortly thereafter. Approaching the 200m steadied when MILK MAID laid out and a number of strides later, had to steady again when VIKING SUN was carried in by LADY WILLPOWER.
STRAIGHT BLAST – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
VIKING SUN – Had its saddle re-adjusted on arrival to the barriers. Raced wide throughout. Passing the 200m, raced in restricted room when MILK MAID laid out and LADY WILLPOWER laid in. Jockey R. Wiggins rider of MILK MAID and Jockey S. Cormack rider of LADY WILLPOWER were both severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.
HEROIC TALENT – Steadied after the pace of the race slackened approaching the 600m. Laid out over the concluding stages. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey N. Thomas stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding and race greenly throughout, and in his opinion, may derive benefit from the removal of blinkers. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S. Rundle advised that it would be his intention to send the gelding for a spell. Stewards advised Trainer Rundle that HEROIC TALENT would be required to officially trial satisfactorily prior to resuming.
MILK MAID – Raced wide throughout. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
NEXT LEGACY – Held up rounding the home turn up until a point approaching the 200m. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
LADY WILLPOWER – Bounded on jumping and was slow to begin as a result. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
PACIERA – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped GIAPPONESE. Raced wide during the early stages after obtaining a position outside the 1000m.
STARVECCHIO – Over raced during the early stages. Steadied after the pace of the race slackened approaching the 600m. Held up during the early stages of the home straight until a point near the 300m. Inclined to lay out over the concluding stages.
ROTH OF GOD – Slow to begin. When asked to comment, Apprentice N. Olzard stated that the filly failed to travel at any stage throughout the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S. Green was advised ROTH OF GOD would require to officially trial satisfactorily prior to resuming.
RACE 4: R'TON MINI LOADS KEN RUSSELL MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1300 M
OUTWITTED – Slow to begin.
TIZSO FAB – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
VICTORY'S GHOST – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide from the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
HEY JEALOUSY – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey S. Cormack stated that in his opinion the filly may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer J. McConachy stated that it was now his intention to send the filly for a spell.
THE DARK SIDE – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to lay in during the home straight. Approaching the 400m had to momentarily steady when BULL DIMPLE RUN shifted inwards when not fully clear. Jockey J. Stanely rider of BULL DIMPLE RUN was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
BULL DIMPLE RUM – Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the home straight and proved disappointing.
LYNRIC LASS – Declared a late scratching at 8:08am on veterinary advice. Trainer L. Sullivan was advised that LYNRIC LASS would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing.
RACE 5: HIGGINS COATINGS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1600 M
GENERAL HIPPO – Bumped on jumping after BOOM BOOM BELLA shifted in.
I SAY BOOM – Raced wide throughout.
MONEY MAN – Raced wide from the 800m. Approaching the 400m, raced in restricted room to the outside of BOOM BOOM BELLA when that runner shifted out.
ROY'S ROAD – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow as a result. Near the 400m steadied after being placed in restricted room when MONEY MAN was carried outwards.
HE'S POPLAR – Held up rounding the home turn and until a point near the 350m.
MADALSA – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey L. Tilley stated that in his opinion the step up in distance today may have proved detrimental to the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer P. Webster was advised to report back on the condition of MADALSA in the coming days.
SPIRIT TALKER – Raced wide until obtaining a position outside the leader near the 1200m. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey T. Chambers stated that in her opinion the step up in distance may have been detrimental from a fitness perspective and was of the opinion the gelding may have got its tongue back, which also may have contributed. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
NEPTUNE LEGEND – Raced wide throughout.
AOOM'S CHOICE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in wunder pressure in the home straight.
BOOM BOOM BELLA – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, bumping GENERAL HIPPO. Near the 500m, steadied to avoid the heels of the weakening SPIRIT TALKER.
LATIN LOVE – Held up rounding the home turn.
ALFA DUNDEE – Near the 150m, carried in by MOISSANITE and was obliged to steady and shift outwards.
RACE 6: ONE SYNDICATIONS ROCKHAMPTON NEWMARKET 1300 M
BANK MAUR – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
SECRET PLAN – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Near the 250m, bumped with PARADE GROUND. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey J. Huxtable stated that after being three wide, he was of the opinion that the lack of genuine speed didn’t suit his mount and that the gelding failed to run on when placed under pressure entering the home straight. Jockey Huxtable further advised that having five weeks between runs may have impacted its overall performance.
SHA OF GOMER – Unable to obtain clear racing room until shifting out near the 250m.
HE'S HEAVEN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Eagle Farm on the 28th June and was subsequently cleared to start. Raced wide until obtaining a position outside the leader near the 900m.
DEMON AWARD – Declared a late scratching at 2:22pm after the gelding was found to be lame in its near foreleg. Trainer D. Hansen was advised that DEMON AWARD would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
MEDIA EMPIRE – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PARADE GROUND – Near the 250m bumped with SECRET PLAN.
DEEP BLAST – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground as a result.
TRACK TALE – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey G. Cartwright stated her mount raced one paced and, in her opinion, may have come to the end of its preparation. When questioned, Trainer R. Vale concurred with Jockey G. Cartwrights comments and confirmed that it would be his intention to send TRACK TALE for a spell.
RACE 7: TAB BELLE OF CAPRICORNIA FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1400 M
CELESTIAL HARBOUR – Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
AFFINITY FLYER – Jumped away awkwardly.
THAT’S AN EXTRA – Over raced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
HEARSAY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after last racing at Eagle Farm on the 28/6/2025 and was subsequently cleared to start.
DREAM SMART – Shifted out under pressure over the final stages. When questioned regarding settling closer to the speed, Jockey J. Stanley stated that it was not his intention to settle that close, however after beginning well from an inside barrier, he was able to settle closer to the speed by doing minimal work. He further added that the step up in distance and moderate tempo allowed him to settle closer.
GLASS OF ROSE – Elected to restrain shortly after the start to obtain a position on the rail. Held up on entering the home straight up until the 350m.
ROTHESAY’S RUBY – Jumped away awkwardly.
TIGON PRINCESS – Jumped away awkwardly and slow to begin as a result.
EL OF A SENORITA – Change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 8: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200 M
JACKA STANDS ALONE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly during the early stages. Inclined to lay out during the concluding stages.
AMBERINGER – Raced wide throughout. Bumped by ELEANOR NANCY which was carried outwards upon entering the home straight. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey J. Murphy stated that the wide barrier draw was detrimental to the filly’s overall chances. Jockey Murphy added that upon entering the home straight after being bumped by ELEANOR NANCY, AMBERINGER became awkward in its stride and lost momentum. Jockey Murphy further added that when AMBERINGER was asked for an effort in the home straight, the filly failed to respond and went to the line in a disappointing manner.
BOLD ARTIC – On entering the home straight, bumped with ELEANOR NANCY which in turn bumped AMBERINGER.
OUTBACK BANDIT – Raced wide during the early stages.
ELEANOR NANCY – As Apprentice J. Williams was unable to make the weight, he was subsequently replaced by Apprentice O. Kendal. Apprentice J. Williams was fined $300 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Bumped by BOLD ARTIC upon entering the home straight. Apprentice O. Kendal reported at scale that her mount was inclined to hang in throughout the entirety of the event and proved difficult.
KAI MONDO – Jumped away awkwardly.
