Race 1: Yalumba Wines Class 1 H'cap – 1600m
BOUND TO GO – Change of tactics. Usually ridden rearward. To take up a more forward position today if circumstances permit. Attempted to be ridden forward and caught 3 wide midfield.
LIDO – Slow to begin.
COLD BLOODED – Slow to begin.
FEROCITY FAIR – Hung out rounding the 1200m turn.
STAINER – Raced 3 wide throughout.
Race 2: Coastline BMW Maiden Plate – 1400m
APEGASUS – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running passing the 300m and shifted out near the 200m, making contact with another runner.
MR SEDUCTION – Overraced in the early stages.
STAROCITY – Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a run making heavy contact with another runner near the 100m and was obliged to alter course over the concluding stages. Rider L. Rolls was reprimanded for shifting ground at the 100m.
GROBBELAAR – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 100m and then held up for clear running for the remainder of the event.
AMUSEMENT – Raced 3 wide without cover.
GOTTA ZIP – Rider R. Wiggins could not offer any tangible explanation for the disappointing performance.
Race 3: Slade Bloodstock Maiden Plate – 1000m
AD MAIORA – Trainer J. Holcombe was reprimanded for presenting the horse late on course.
ASHULUPA – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 300m.
IN THE KITTY – Slow to begin. Held up from the 400m to the 300m. Stewards asked jockey R. McMahon to comment on the performance of the horse and his riding of that horse in the early stages of the home straight. He stated that he wanted to be closer to the lead however the filly was only moderately away and was obliged to take up a position in the second half of the field. R. McMahon added that the horse was doing its best work over the concluding stages and would be more suited to races over longer distances. He stated that in the early stages of the home straight he anticipated an opportunity would be available for him to improve to the inside of Rapid boy, however this did not eventuate and he was obliged to alter course approaching the 300m to secure clear running outside that horse and, in his opinion, this did not have a bearing on the overall finishing position of In The Kitty.
SILENT DUKE – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
VERSACE MISS – Raced 3 wide without cover.
RAFFIN SILVER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
ANADEM – Raced greenly throughout.
Race 4: XXXX Class 2 H'cap – 1000m
LADY SCHILLER – Trainer B. Currie was fined $200 for failing to produce the registration papers for the horse.
DANSAL – Declared a late scratching at 3.34 pm after the horse got its near hind leg caught in the barriers causing a laceration to that leg.
All monies invested on Dansal withdrawn by the ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

8 cents in the dollar for place of winner #5
9 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #12
5 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #4

SIMPLY CHANEL – Slow to begin.
AIR DIAMOND – Shortly after the start became unbalanced after receiving contact from another runner and lost ground.
YAHUSHA - Tightened for room near the 600m and had to be steadied.
SILIQUA – Shifted in when not clear of runners to its inside, causing interference. Rider T. Wolfgram was reprimanded for this incident.
COGNAC GIRL – Rider D. Browne explained that his mount did not feel entirely comfortable in its action and was making an abnormal respiratory noise during the race. . A post race veterinary examination revealed delayed post race recovery and showing signs of the thumps, and was lame in the off foreleg. A swab sample was taken.
Race 5: John Murray Memorial Class 3 H'cap – 1400m
BALINESE BOY – Examined by the veterinary surgeon at the start and cleared to take its place in the field.
THIS IS WAR – Slow to begin. Rider J. Hull reported that at no stage did the gelding travel in the event and when asked for an effort in the home straight did not respond to his riding. Stewards will contact trainer B. Currie in relation to the performance.
CANNY BE FAMOUS – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced soon after the start. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and had to be restrained from heels near the 300m.
THRILLERS – Inconvenienced soon after the start.
PLUGGER – Held up and unable to improve from the 600m, having to be restrained from heels near the 450m. Rider dropped his whip near the 200m.
TALON LADY – Held up rounding the home turn and shifted in near the 400m, inconveniencing another runner.
GOOD JUDGE – Disappointed for clear running near the 400m and had to be checked.
MY BELOVED – Raced 3 wide without cover.
Race 6: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks Class 1 H'cap – 1200m
FELTRE – Slow to begin and also hampered by another runner at the start. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and had to be restrained from heels.
CREDIT ONLY – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with another runner.
RIO BRAVO – Improved onto heels near the 800m and had to be steadied.
LARIMUS – Had to be checked when the pace slackened near the 800m to avoid heels and shifted wider on the track for a short distance.
ROSE’S COMMAND – Rider M. Cahill explained that the filly travelled well in a forward position in the early and middle stages but did not respond to his riding prior to the home turn and weakened in the home straight and was disappointing. He added that the horse may be suited ridden further back in the field.
KONA BREEZE – Rider J. Byrne stated that the mare travelled comfortably until a point passing the 500m where he shifted 3 wide to make a forward move and was disappointing in its finishing effort in the home straight and also on pulling up was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer R. Heathcote indicated that he would have the gelding scoped and report the findings to stewards. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished last and was pulled up quickly after the finishing post, revealed it to be making a respiratory noise.
TONGUE OF FIRE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from heat stress.
