Race 1: TJS FACILITY SERVICES GOLD COAST MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M

GAZIMBER – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

THE OVAL OFFICE – Laid out for a short distance passing the 600m and was restrained to avoid heels. Disappointed for a run approaching the 300m and had to be restrained before altering course to the outside to secure clear running.

MYSTIC FALLS – Slow to begin.

Race 2: TJS FACILITY SERVICES GLADSTONE QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M

Trainer S. O’Dea was fined $100 for failing to declare J. Matthews as the rider of ONE MORE KISS by the prescribed time.

The start of this race was delayed when ACADINI, which had lacerations in its mouth, was inspected by the veterinary surgeon and passed to take its place in the field.

DODGE THE PRESS – Had to be checked when tightened for room shortly after the start.

DAM WONDERFUL – Jumped away awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider, and then was checked a short distance later when tightened for room. Momentarily steadied to avoid heels near the 800m.

LOCA DA VIDA – Near the 100m was checked from the heels of another runner which was shifting out whilst weakening.

MAGIC LOVE – Late scratching at 10.37 am for veterinary reasons.

ONE MORE KISS – Had to be checked when tightened for room shortly after the start. Held up for a short distance passing the 400m and then shifted out to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer S. O’Dea was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start.

YES TONIGHT – Lost its off fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near fore heel.

IT’S A STICK UP – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 100m shifted out abruptly whilst weakening and became unbalanced.


Race 3: TJS FACILITY SERVICES WIDE BAY QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

TAMBO’S HEART – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

JETFIRE – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn until near the 300m when the rider was obliged to steady and alter course to secure clear running.

MYBOYOLIVER – Obliged to steady from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 800m and raced for a short distance with its head in the air.

REVALDOR – Trainer B. Brown reported that the horse returned to scale with its tongue over the bit and he would now experiment with the horse’s gear before the next start.

CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin.

EASY ALPHA – The veterinary examination reported that the filly bled from both nostrils post-race. As this was the second occasion on which the horse has bled, it will now incur a mandatory lifetime ban from racing.

STONECAST – Obliged to steady from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 800m and raced for a short distance with its head in the air. The horse continued to overrace and was steadied from heels near the 500m.

LIGHT ‘N’ SHADE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

FORDYCE KNIGHT – Raced three wide without cover.

As P. Hammersley was stood down by the Club doctor following his ride in this event, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.


Race 4: TJS FACILITY SERVICES SUNSHINE COAST MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

SAM DE HERO – Trainer C. Anderson was reprimanded for failing to produce the horse’s identity papers. Held up for clear running between the 300m and the 200m and again had some difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.

SHOW A FLICK – Slow to begin.

DEVILISH DUKE – Rider M. Hellyer reported that in his opinion the horse may have got its tongue over the bit. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Herne indicated that he would experiment with the addition of a tongue tie. Stewards advised Mr Herne that DEVILISH DUKE would be required to officially trial prior to being permitted to start again.

MAJOR SCOOP – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and into the early stages of the home straight.

DISORDER – Raced wide throughout.

MANDAROSSO – Raced wide throughout.

AUDELLA – Tightened for room at the start. Held up rounding the home turn and into the early stages of the home straight.

GALLIVANTING – Made contact with a wall in the tie-up stalls, underwent a veterinary inspection and passed to take its place in the field. The horse was again inspected behind the barriers and was deemed not suitable for racing and was declared a late scratching at 1.48 pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on GALLIVANTING be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to betting:

11 cents in the dollar for the Win #14
10 cents in the dollar for place of winner #14
11 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #19
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #7

As T. Bell was stood down by the Club doctor, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 5: TJS FACILITY SERVICES MACKAY CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1400M

SPUR LE JOUER – Inconvenienced and forced wider after passing the 400m.

HOT AUGUSTA – Bumped by another runner at the start and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice R. Johnston-Bell was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount when it shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

PIGGY BANK – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three wide without cover. Inconvenienced and forced wider after passing the 400m.

ROCKLEA RAIDER – Forced three wide leaving the 900m and then raced without cover from that point onwards.

EXPLODED – Overraced when the pace slackened leaving the 900m, shifted away from the fence and forced another runner wider.

App. T. Brooker was unable to claim down to her riding weight and as a result only claimed 2 kg of her 3 kg allowance. Apprentice Brooker was fined $200.

Race 6: TJS FACILITY SERVICES QLD BM75 H’CAP – 1200M

NICKIERA – Lost its off hind plate in running.

VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Raced wide throughout.

HLUDOWIG – Slow to begin. Laid in from the 400m onwards.

PATAPINDA – Raced three wide without cover.

CHILWERO – When questioned, J. Byrne stated that after obtaining cover from the 800m, the horse travelled well to the home turn, but when placed under pressure failed to run on and in his opinion was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings and a swab sample was taken.

UNIQUE MISTIQUE – Inconvenienced shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 800m.

App. T. Brooker was unable to claim down to her riding weight and as a result only claimed 2 kg of her 3 kg allowance. Apprentice Brooker was fined $200.

Race 7: TJS FACILITY SERVICES TOWNSVILLE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M

Correct weight was delayed when connections of VINTAGE COGNAC requested the horse to be considered a non-runner as they felt the horse was denied a fair start. VINTAGE COGNAC, after rearing in the barriers following being loaded, the horse became fractious and turned its head into the adjoining partition. Shortly after, the start was effected and the horse lost significant ground and thereafter took no competitive part in the race. After reviewing the film and considering the evidence tendered, stewards were satisfied that except for the poor barrier manners of VINTAGE COGNAC, the horse had the opportunity to start with the rest of the field and was therefore declared a runner.

SHARPE HUSSLER – When the pace commenced to slacken after passing the 1000m the gelding commenced to overrace and took charge of the rider and shifted in abruptly, becoming unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer B. Herne was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start.

LUPO NERO – Overraced after passing the 900m, checked from heels and shifted out, making contact with DIVINE HARRY. Held up rounding the home turn. Steadied approaching the 100m when attempting to secure clear running where there was doubtful room.

DAZZLING GIRL – Raced wide until assuming a position outside the lead passing the 600m.

SHADOW DOLL – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

ROCKDAY – Slow to begin and lost ground.

STAR AMORE – Raced wide without cover.

FRISCO JOE – Raced wide without cover.

MAXIRODS – Tightened for room near the 900m and made contact with the running rail.

Race 8: TJS FACILITY SERVICES TOOWOOMBA CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600M

MAN OF LAW – Slow to begin. Had to be restrained from heels passing the 700m.

HANGOVER TOO – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 300m.

GREY DERBY – Commenced to overrace passing the 1500m when in restricted room and continued to do so until passing the 1200m and then shifted wider and raced wide from leaving the 1000m.

SAVVY GIRL – Raced three wide without cover.

BROADWAY SHOW – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to take up a position outside the lead passing the 1000m.

CASA CIELLO – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

MORINGAS MO JO – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

STAINER – Slow to begin. Had to be restrained from heels passing the 700m.

WAY OF BEING – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer W. Bannerot was advised that the horse must obtain a further barrier certificate before starting again.
