SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT


GENERAL
 
Apprentice C Bellamy was reprimanded pursuant to AR127(1) for failing to fulfil her riding engagement in race 2 on FARNESINA and was replaced by apprentice T Fenlon.
 
Trainers C & C Munce were fined $100 pursuant to LR67.1 for failing to declare a rider for DIVINE DIAMONDS by the prescribed time.
 

RACE 1:ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP   1200 M
 
No racing incidents.

RACE 2: KEVLACAT POWER BOATS AUSTRALIA FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP         1200 M        

CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) – Began awkwardly, shifted in and contacted TE ELCEE.
 
FARNESINA - Laid out under pressure over the final 50m.
 
VOLTESSA – Laid in under pressure over the final 50m and became awkwardly placed at the heels of FARNESINA.
 
TE ELCEE – Hampered and lost ground at the start when CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
KAMIGAMO (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages.
 
INSAIN LADY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival on course and was found to be lame in the near foreleg and was unfit to start. Stewards declared INSAIN LADY a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5:43pm. Co Trainer A Simpson was advised, INSAIN LADY would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.         

RACE 3: HIGGINS COATINGS COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN HANDICAP    1200 M

PRECISE TORQUE - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival to the barriers and was found to be lame in the near hind leg. Stewards declared PRECISE TORQUE a late scratching on veterinary advice at 6:59pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on PRECISE TORQUE are to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – QUIT ‘N’ TAP 24c win, 21c place
2nd – WHAT DID YOU SAY 31c place
Trainer S Kendrick was advised PRECISE TORQUE would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.


RACE 4: BARRIER REEF POOLS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP   1800 M

BOLD BLAZE – Shifted out at the start and tightened the running of WANDA’S OUTLAW.
 
TAP HIGH – Over raced when being restrained in the early stages. Laid in under pressure from the 400m onwards causing its rider to stop riding and straighten leaving 200m and again over the concluding stages.
 
KURITHEA – Stopped riding when tightened for room by TAP HIGH, which laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
WANDA'S OUTLAW – Tightened at the start when BOLD BLAZE shifted out. Over raced in the early stages due to the slow tempo being set.
 
BLUEPRINT – Over raced in the early stages. Worked forward to the lead near the 900m. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.


RACE 5: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP   1400 M
 
The start of this event was delayed due to THE LAST SAGA being reluctant to leave the mounting yard before apprentice A Graham mounted THE LAST SAGA on the track. Prior to apprentice A Graham gaining the use of her stirrups THE LAST SAGA commenced to bolt and apprentice Graham became dislodged, THE LAST SAGA then contacted and damaged the outside running rail near the 1800m and continued to bolt until being captured by the clerk of the course. Stewards declared THE LAST SAGA a late scratching at 7:59pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on THE LAST SAGA be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – PULVERISER 20c win, 17c place
2nd – AMBASSADORS SAY 18c place
3rd – FIFTH FORCE 20c place
Trainer A Jenkinson was advised a warning would be placed on THE LAST SAGA for its pre-race manners. Apprentice A Graham was cleared of any injuries by the Queensland Ambulance Service following this incident.
 
Following this, GIVING DELIGHT was subsequently declared a late scratching at 8:04pm by order of stewards due to the gelding refusing to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on GIVING DELIGHT be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – PULVERISER 13c win, 10c place
2nd – AMBASSADORS SAY 12c place
3rd – FIFTH FORCE 12c place
Trainer J Healy was advised GIVING DELIGHT would require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 

KERKORIAN – Began awkwardly and bumped with AMBASSADORS. Jockey P Hamblin was fined the sum of $500 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
PULVERISER – Began awkwardly. Apprentice K Lenton reported to stewards that it was not her intention to lead, however when attempting to obtain cover in the early stages she was positioned wide on the track, and when the pace of the race was only steady she elected to allow the horse to stride forward in order to obtain a position closer to the fence.
 
OUR ORATOR – Slow to begin.
 
OUT OF ACES – Raced wide throughput.

RACE 6: TAB FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP   1400 M

ROTHECATE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Weakened from near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to present with heat stress. Trainer M Currie was advised ROTHECATE would be required to trial due to the poor performance prior to accepting for a future race.
 
GREY IMPACT – Trainer L Gough was fined $100 pursuant to AR194 for not presenting GREY IMPACT within the prescribed time into the mounting enclosure.
 
HEY CHARDONNAY – Approaching the 350m obliged to alter course to secure clear running.
