Stewards approved the following overweights:
Race 1. B. Lerena +0.5kg
Race 2. A. Sewell +0.5kg
Race 5. Trainer S. Dwyer was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor NATURALLY LIT by the prescribed time.
RACE 1:ANZAC DAY QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
DOUBLE COOL – After passing the 400m, improved into restricted room to inside of MISHANI FIDDICH before shifting out across that runners’ heels and becoming unbalanced. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ESCAPE PLAN – Slow to begin.
HELLS REIN – Raced greenly in the middle stages and when under pressure in the home straight.
MISSILE SHOT – Hampered between runners on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
PRIVATE MAX – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
COOL GENT – Tightened on jumping.
MAGANISTA – Rider A. Sewell reported that when placed under pressure, his mount did not appreciate today’s soft track conditions.
POWERFILLY – Near the 300m, bumped when MAGANISTA shifted in under pressure. Rider M. Hellyer reported that the filly was disappointing in its finishing effort and, in his opinion, may have come to the end of its preparation.
MISHANI ENTICE – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
RACE 2 : LEST WE FORGET MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
TORO CHASE – Near the 450m, shifted out and bumped with ARGYLE GOLD on a number of occasions when attempting to secure clear running. Near the 350m, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed on the heels of RISE AND RESIST which shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Over the concluding stages, whilst laying in, bumped with UNCOMMON DAISY.
AMAZIGH TORQUE – Improved onto heels near the 800m, when the pace of the race slackened, and had to be checked.
RISE AND RESIST – Over raced in the early stages.
ARGYLE GOLD – Began awkwardly. Near the 450m, inconvenienced and forced wider by TORO CHASE which shifted out.
LUCCI – Began awkwardly.
UNCOMMON DAISY – Bumped with TORO CHASE over the concluding stages.
VIDEO VIXEN – Inconvenienced when UNCOMMON DAISY shifted in over the concluding stages.
RACE 3:VETERANS WELLBEING FOUNDATION QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres
DUCHESS DIFFICULT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages. Held up for clear running from the 450m until passing the 200m.
ESTEE EMM – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
GOSSAMER GLOW – Raced wide throughout.
RED MOON RISING – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages which resulted in the filly losing its position and settling at the tail of the field when passing the 600m. Apprentice C. Sutherland reported at scale that his mount made a respiratory noise on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
ROYAL RIDDLE – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice O. Webb reported her mount was inclined to race greenly throughout.
SEA VOYAGE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
JARDIN DE LYS – Slow to begin.
Following the running of this race, the track was downgraded to a Heavy (8) retrospective to race 3.
RACE 4:CALOUNDRA RSL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
COUNT NICHOLAS - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
MARATHIA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
RACE 5:MC POLYTRACK CLASS 1 PLATE 1000 Metres
The start of this race was delayed approximately 6 minutes when FINAL VOYAGE cast the near fore plate enroute to the barriers. On examination by the farrier, it was ascertained that he would be unable to plate the near fore. Consequently, the off fore plate was removed and the mare raced without front plates.
AGENDA SETTER – When being restrained to obtain cover in the early stages, commenced to over race. Raced wide throughout.
DA SNOOP DOG – After passing the 400m, shifted out in an attempt to secure clear running and initiated contact with DREAMWRITER causing both runners to become unbalanced for a short distance
DREAMWRITER – Began awkwardly. Bumped by DA SNOOP DOG on passing the 400m and became unbalanced.
HAPPY BELLIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
PORT RIVER BILLIE – After passing the 500m, blundered.
RACE 6:HIGGINS COATINGS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
LORD OF FLAMES – Began awkwardly.
RACE 7:TAB BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
ALL KINDS OF FOLK – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
PIREONTI – Significantly slow to begin.
JOTOPELI – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.
MISS DYNAMO – Approaching the 300m, obliged to alter course to avoid the heels of FROTHSAY which shifted in.
ZINGALONG – Raced wide throughout.
