On arrival to the Tambo racecourse, Stewards conducted an inspection of the track which revealed a wet patch approximately 1 meter round situated on the inside running rail at the 400 meter mark which was identified as being water that had been collected in the running rail during recent rain and drained in that particular spot. Stewards in consultation with Club officials determined that the wet section would be removed and replaced with dry material. After the remedial works were completed, Stewards and a delegation of senior riders inspected the replaced section of track and passed it suitable for racing.
