ROUBAIX – Bumped with another runner at the start. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, apprentice B. Derbyshire reported that the gelding did not travel at any stage and in her opinion did not handle today’s track conditions.

BRAVE DAZZLER – When questioned regarding the horse’s improved performance, trainer K. Kemp reported that he was expecting a forward showing at the gelding’s previous start at Doomben, however the tempo of the race on that occasion did not suit and the performance was disappointing. He added that the gelding had worked well leading into tonight’s event and he was again confident of a forward showing.

Bogenhuber regarding her tactics, in particular in the early stages of the race where she allowed the gelding to stride forward to a position 5 lengths ahead of the rest of the field. Jockey Bogenhuber reported that her instructions were to allow the horse to stride forward in the early stages and obtain a lead over the rest of the field before allowing the horse to settle comfortably in the middle stages. Trainer P. Facoory confirmed the instructions. As this was in accordance with the horse’s regular racing pattern, Stewards noted the explanation and took the matter no further.
