KAVALONG – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, and had to be steadied from heels passing the 100m.
QUICK EDGE – Apprentice H. Phillips reported at scale that in her opinion the mare did not handle today's heavy track conditions.
TRUST NO ONE – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer M. Hemmings advised Stewards that he had been working on improving the gelding's racing manners, as it had hung out and raced ungenerously at its two preceding starts at Toowoomba, and he felt the improved performance was largely due to the gelding racing more tractably today. He added that in his opinion the gelding also benefited from racing on its home track today. Stewards noted the explanation.
MATILDA MISS – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, trainer T. Dougall advised that in his opinion the mare did not handle today's heavy track and was not suited by having to race wide after beginning from a wide barrier. He added that he felt the mare would be better suited to races over a longer distance than today's event. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
Following the running of this event, the track was upgraded to a Heavy 8 retrospective.

SMINCHA – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
FAIRMORE – Slow to begin.
MELLORE – Brushed another runner near the 600m. Jockey N. Evans reported at scale that in his opinion the filly had got its tongue over the bit, and he had advised the trainer to add a tongue tie to the filly's gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
WHISPERING WINGS – Raced wide throughout. Brushed another runner near the 600m.
CHARZOOKA – Raced wide throughout.
BRAZEN JAKE – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer S. Neylon advised Stewards that in his opinion the gelding did not handle the heat at its last start at Goondiwindi, and benefited from the cooler weather and shorter distance of today's event. Stewards noted the explanation.
WUNGONG SAX – Apprentice L. Tilley was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
Race 3: HAHN 3.5 CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1100m
1st – CHOSEN COURT 2nd – BUSH BEAT 3rd – FELIX 4th – SPECTAULAR ROCK

SEEK THE GOLD – Raced wide in the early stages. Forced wider by another runner rounding the home turn.
Due to heavy showers following Race 3 with an additional 8mm of rain, Stewards and senior riders conducted a track inspection and felt the track was unsafe for racing in the home straight. The remainder of the meeting was abandoned at 3.55pm.
