GENERAL

The following weight variations have been approved for today’s meeting- Race 1- Jky M Murphy +.5kg, Race 4- Jky M Murphy and Jky D Bouche +1.0kg, Race 5- Jky M Hellyer- +.5kg, Race 6- Jky D Bouche- +1.0kg.

RACE 1: THANKS TO WARWICK ICE QTIS THREE-REARS OLD BM58 HANDICAP 800M

SWEET HESITATION- Trainer M Currie was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106 for presenting the filly without a nasal strip.

TINKERBELLA- Slow to begin. Tended to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

EMBOLDEN- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RACE 2: THANKS TO CM TRADING MAIDEN HANDICAP 800M

After the running of race 1 the track was upgraded to a Good 4 rating.

SIMBA’S PRIDE- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in while racing in the home straight.

HUSSON’S TREASURE- Refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:23PM. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on HUDDSON’S TREASURE be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply to all wagers placed prior to 2:23pm:

19c for the win
14c for the place on the winner
28c for 2nd place
9c for 3rd place

A post-race veterinary examination was ordered and this examination failed to detect any abnormalities or evidence of injury. Acting under the provision of AR75 stewards advised Trainer O Cairns the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

MADE IN SCONE- Laid in the home straight.

OLD WERMATONG- Shifted abruptly at approximately the 200m point, then shifted out while the rider Jky T Brooker continue to ride her mount out. Jky T Brooker was issued a reprimand by Stewards acting under the provision of AR131(a) for Careless Riding in that she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

RUSTY BOLT- Proved difficult to load. Jky Ms H Richardson advised Stewards on returning to scale, that a barrier attendant was late in releasing her horse as the start was affected, which resulted in it being slow out. It then shifted out badly on jumping. Raced greenly from the 200m point. On viewing the footage available to Stewards, were of the opinion the issue had minimal affect on the horse’s performance today. Failed to improve into the race despite the riders’ best efforts. Raced at the rear of the field while travelling wide for the majority, tended to lay in while racing in the home straight. Acting under the provision of AR75 Trainer L Hatch was advised that a Warning would be placed on the horse.

LIRA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Proved difficult to load. Acting under the provision of AR75 Stewards advised Trainer Mr B Healy that a Warning would be placed on the horse. Mr Healy advised he would recommend retiring the mare moving forward.

RACE 3: THANKS TO SUB ZERO AIR CONDITIONING BM60 HANDICAP 800M

MR ENCORE- Raced wide for the majority.

LADY ZAYDI- Slow to begin. Raced at the rear of the field for some distance before improving into the race from the 300m, ran on well over the final stages of the event.

GROOVE JET- Bumped on jumping.

MY SICADA- Blundered on jumping.

ADDICTIVE PIRANHA- Bumped on jumping.

COLTMAN- Pre-race veterinary examination was ordered due to the extended period of time since it last raced.

MISTER TUDOR- Raced wide for the majority.

RACE 4: BILEENA STUD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350M

YES DONALD YES- Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr J Bruce stable representative regarding the above market performance of the gelding. The horse had worked well since its last run at Warwick on the 22 January 2026 where it ran on well over the final stages. It drew a good gate and with favorable racing conditions the stable was confident of a forward showing at today’s meeting

POWERFUL WARRIOR- Due to the gelding racing at the Goondiwindi meeting on the 21 February 2026 a pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken. This examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and subsequently passed fit to race at today’s meeting. Raced keen early stages and then raced in a three-wide position from the 800m point for the majority. Trainer Mr G Barbierato was fined the sum of $100 by Stewards acting under the provision of LR67(1) for his failure to declare a rider by the prescribed time.

JUST A SORT- Slow to begin.

KOBABILITY- Raced wide early, then raced in a three-wide position without cover from the 700m point.

ILEGITIMO- Slow to begin. Raced towards the rear of the field for the majority before improving into the race from the 400m. Was forced to steady when awkwardly placed between MISHANI HERCULES and POWERFUL WARRIOR when making ground. Ran on well over the final stages of the event.

MISHANI HERCULES- The start of this event was delayed due to gelding having a plate replaced on the near-side rear. At the 300m point shifted out to improve.

EARTHAXEAZE- Began to weaken noticeably from the 400m point, beaten by a long margin. Due to the poor performance of the mare, a post-race veterinary examination was ordered. This examination revealed a slow post-race recovery but failed to detect any further abnormalities. Stewards notified Trainer Ms P Cartledge and acting under the provision of AR75 the horse would be required to complete in two (2) consecutive barrier trials prior to racing again.

RAZOR’S MAGIC- At the 300m had to shift out when MISHANI HERCULES shifted out to improve. Ran on well over the final stages of the event.

RACE 5: PICKLEBET GET YOUR PICKLE ON BM60 HANDICAP 1500M

SLY CORNER- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

SHAPE OF WATER- Began okay and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority. Stewards sought a comment from the rider Appr. Jky V Soulsby regarding the below market performance of the gelding at today’s meeting. Reported the gelding was first up from a spell today raced off bit in the early stages despite her best efforts and failed to improve into the race. Appr Jky Soulsby’s comments were noted. A post-race veterinary examination was undertaken and failed to detect any abnormalities.

JOHNNY THE KID- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority.

LINWAR- Raced keen early and middle stages. Jockey H Richardson reported that after beginning well the gelding raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and settled in the lead despite her best efforts to restrain. Acting under the provision of AT75, Trainer N Beck was advised a Warning would be placed on the gelding for its racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination was undertaken. This examination failed to detect any abnormalities.

MISHANI IMPACT- Slow to begin. After taking a forward position leading for some distance began to weaken over the final stages.

DRAGON SONG- Raced wide without cover in the early stages.

KEY COMPONENT- Raced wide rounding the home turn and in the home straight. On returning to scale Jky L Tilley reported that from the 500m point despite his best efforts his mount failed to improve into the race.

ROYAL CHARGE- As the gelding raced at Goondiwindi on the 21st of February 2026, a pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding was passed fit to race at today’s meeting. Raced in a three-wide position with cover for the majority.

BRINGME- Slow to begin.

RACE 6: MATT’S MOWERS & MORE BM65 HANDICAP 1350M

POWERFUL EAGLE- Began to weaken over the final stages of the event.

CARDIOLOGIST- Held up from the 500m to 400m. After entering the home straight ran on well over the final stages.

SUKHBIR- Began to ease down over the final 200m. Rider A Thompson reported the gelding put in awkward stride near the 400m and elected to ease his mount down. Post-race vet revealed a slow recovery rate with no other abnormalities being detected. Acting under the provision of AR75, Trainer M Brosnan was advised that SUKHBIR would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards and would also require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.

BLUISH HUE- Held up for a run from the 500m to 400m point.

MORE FOR READY- Eased off heels of CARDIOLOGIST passing the 800m. Shifted out and raced wide from the 700m.

ROTHESAY’S LAD- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

LITTLE VAIN- Race wide for the majority. Shifted ground when under pressure passing the 200m point.

RACE 7: LES CLARKE MEMORIAL 0-55 HANDICAP 1350M

LION’S PRIDE- Raced three- wide with cover.

BUTWEDED- Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and early part of the home straight.

DOITLIKEMAXWELL- Raced in a three- wide with cover. Rider L Tilley reported he lost his whip at the 200m and as a result was unable to test his mount out fully to the line. Ran on well over the final stages of the event.

TURN ME ROYALE- Raced wide without cover.

SO YOU CAN TORQUE- Raced in a three- wide position with cover for the majority.

COOL MUSIC- Presented to the mounting yard without a tongue tie. Acting under the provision of AR106 Stewards issued a Reprimand to Trainer B Dais for the breach of the rule. Raced in a four-wide position from the 800m point. Ran on strongly over the final stages of the event.

MISHANI EXPRESS- Jky M Murphy was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 1200m, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BELISTIC MAN, with the rider Jky B Ainsworth having to steady her mount and lose its rightful running. In determining penalty, Stewards considered Jky Murphy’s careless riding record and the QRIC Careless riding guidelines. Jky Murphy’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days, commencing at m/n on the 28th day of February 2026 up to and including the 7th day of March 2026, allowing him the freedom to return to race riding on the 8th day of March 2026. Jky Murphy was advised of his right to a review.

WANTSOMEMOREOFIT- Approaching the 1200m point shifted out marginally. When racing keenly approaching the 1000m, eased when BELISTIC MAN(B. Ainsworth) began to shift in and take the rightful running of the gelding. Jockey B Ainsworth was issued with a Severe Reprimand under the provision of AR131(a). Raced in a four-wide position with cover from the 800m. Began to weaken over the final stages.

BELISTIC MAN- Near the 1250m, hampered & turned sideways. Approaching the 1200m steadied and lost its rightful running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

BLACK ‘N’ DEADLY- Approaching the 1250m, checked when tightened between WANTSOMEMOREOFIT, which shifted out and away from THIEM and BELISTIC MAN, which was taken in slightly, when racing tight to the inside of MISHANI EXPRESS. In the incident, BELSITIC MAN was hampered & turned sideways. Raced in a four-wide without cover from the 800m.
