GENERAL
The following runners were declared late scratchings due to no rider being available. Stewards note that jockey R Payne was engaged to ride in race 1 however due to prior commitments was unable to ride in any of the remaining races.
Race 1 – KICKAMUSHU @ 8:35am

Race 1: KEN MILLS MACHINERY KINGAROY RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 Handicap 1100m
HARLEY CHARLIE – Shifted inwards shortly after the start impeding LA SUERTE. Raced wide in the early stages.
MASTER MIYAGI – Shifted outwards after the start impeding LA SUERTE. Raced keenly in the early stages.
ABOUT RIGHT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 200m bumped with COSMIC PROPORTIONS and lost ground. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
KICKAMUSHU – Was declared a late scratching at 8:35am due to no rider being available.
COSMIC PROPORTIONS – Raced wide in the early stages. Laid inwards leaving the 200m and bumped the hind quarters of ABOUT RIGHT, shortly after placed in restricted room when LA SUERTE was carried inwards by SHE’S A REVELATION, as a result had to be restrained and lost ground. Near the 50m laid inwards and had to be restrained from the heels of LA SUERTE.
HEART OF PLATINUM – Began awkwardly and slow into stride. Laid inwards over the final 100m.
LA SUERTE – Impeded shortly after the start by MASTER MIYAGI and HARLEY CHARLIE. Raced keenly in the early stages. Leaving the 200m was carried inwards by SHE’S A REVELATION, was inclined to lay inwards thereafter.
SHE’S A REVELATION – Raced wide throughout.
ABOVE THE WORLD – Was declared a late scratching at 8:35am due to no rider being available.
Following the running of this race stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 200m. It was determined that leaving the 200m COSMIC PROPORTIONS (jockey R Payne) was inclined to lay inwards making contact with the hind quarters of ABOUT RIGHT (apprentice E Simsir) turning that runner outwards. Simultaneously LA SUERTE (jockey K Gates) was carried inwards by SHE’S A REVELATION (jockey W O’Connell) when that runner shifted inwards. As a result COSMIC PROPORTIONS was placed in restricted room a had to be restrained to avoid heels. After considering the evidence in its entirety stewards issued a reprimand under AR131(a) to jockey W O’Connell (SHE’S A REVELATION) for allowing his mount to shift ground when not fully clear. In only issuing a reprimand stewards were mindful of the racing manners of COSMIC PROPORTIONS leading into the incident.
Race 2: WONDAI DIGGERS CUP OPEN Handicap 1000m
Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards reviewed the available replays to determine if GOLD REVOLUTION had been afforded a fair start. It was determined that simultaneously as the start was effected the gelding had reared dislodging jockey K Gates. Stewards were satisfied that the incident was attributed to GOLD REVOLUTION’s mannerisms and subsequently declared correct weight on the judges numbers.
ESTE DIA – Blundered on jumping. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.
ZENA BOY – Jockey W O’Connell pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 8 times prior to the 100m and 16 times in totality. Jockey O’Connell’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 7/5/26 at the completion of a previously incurred suspension and to conclude midnight the 15/5/26.
MAMARAGAN – Blundered on jumping.
DIGGITY – Was fractious prior to the start. Dropped its head momentarily prior to the start being effect and began awkwardly. Slow to begin.
GOLD REVOLUTION – Reared as the start was effected dislodging jockey K Gates. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer K Afford was advised that GOLD REVOLUTION would be required to trial or jump out to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
Following the running of this race jockey K Gates was examined by QAS officers and was stood down from her remaining engagements due to right arm discomfort. Jockey Gates was advised that she would be required to provide a medical clearance prior to riding again.
Race 3: THE NORM ANDRESEN MEMORIAL QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m
KICK AND WIN – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey C Meehan reported that his mounts tendency to over race during the event proved detrimental in the geldings finishing chances.
SET FOR LIFE – Was declared a late scratching at 2:26pm due to jockey K Gates being injured in race 2 and no replacement riders being available. As betting had opened on this race stewards ordered that all wagers placed on SET FOR LIFE be refunded in full and deductions to apply on all successful wagers placed prior to 2:26pm.

THE HINDUSTAN (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
FOXTROTTING –- Began awkwardly and blundered soon after the start. Raced wide throughout.
JOYFUL CONQUEST – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Raced greenly in the home straight.
EXTRA HANDS – Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.
SHEZA PARTY GIRL – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. When questioned in relation to the performance jockey N Thomas stated that in his opinion the filly would be better suited to races over a further distance, he further added that SHEZA PARTY GIRL would derive significant benefit from todays run.
Race 4: DEB FRECKLINGTON MP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 850m
SUTHERLAND – Began awkwardly. Near the 600m bumped with APHAWA. Raced wide throughout.
AMPHAWA – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 600m laid inwards bumping SUTHERLAND. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid inward when under pressure in the home straight.
JAIN – Was declared a late scratching at 2:26pm due to jockey K Gates being injured in race 2 and no replacement riders being available.
PAPER COWBOY – Began awkwardly and bumped with ROCKY BLONDE on jumping. Held up for clear racing room until shifting inwards near the 200m, momentarily placing IGBO in restricted room. Jockey N Thomas was reminded of his obligation to ensure he is clear of other runners when shifting ground.
ROCKY BLONDE – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards bumping PAPER COWBOY. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.
IGBO – Near the 200m momentarily placed in restricted room when PAPER COWBOY shifted inwards to obtain clear racing room. Jockey A Spinks reported that his mount was first up today and would derive significant fitness benefit from todays event.
DUCHESS OF ARGYLL – Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: CRUMPTON'S LEST WE FORGET BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1577m
BARCLAY’S BANK – Bumped on jumping by PAULI and shortly after bumped with RAPID DUDE. Over raced in the early stages.
SKIEDA – Near the 600m saddle slipped and shifted outwards bumping PAULI, as a result apprentice E Simsir lost her irons placing her in some difficulty fully testing her mount for the remainder of the event.
MEKANIC – Was declared a late scratching at 2:26pm due to jockey K Gates being injured in race 2 and no replacement riders being available.
RAPID DUDE – Bumped with BARCLAY’S BANK shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
KHANT FAIL (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
ROIGARD – Was declared a late scratching at 8:40am due to no rider being available.
THE PUBLICAN – When questioned in relation to the performance jockey A Spinks stated that in his opinion THE PUBLICAN resents racing on sand/dirt surfaces and would be better suited to racing on grass track moving forward.
PAULI – Shifted outwards at the start bumping BARCLAY’S BANK. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped with SKIEDA near the 600m.
GREAT ANGLES – Was declared a late scratching at 8:40am due to no rider being available.
